USC football makes another huge recruiting splash, lands four-star edge rusher Luke Wafle Stop me if you have heard this one before: USC football just landed another massive recruit. On Thursday morning, the Trojans picked up a commitment from four-star edge rusher Luke Wafle. Wafle is from Princeton, New Jersey. 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 55 overall player and the No. 6 edge rusher in the class of 2026. Here is 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins's evaluation of Wafle: "Force-based defensive end that's a tackle collector on the edge," Ivins wrote. "Measured roughly 6-foot-5, 245 pounds spring before senior year and came in with some promising features. Racks up stops when ball carriers near his gaps as he has the strength and power to will his way to wins. Not always the quickest off the snap, but has the awareness to move laterally and beat cutoffs. Heavy hands and a diesel engine tend to produce most of his quarterback pressures as he defeats protection by trying to ram his way through it. Spent junior season working out of a three-point stance in a modified four-man front where he was frequently asked to play over offensive tackles. Likely to find most success in a similar alignment on Saturdays as he's built for box-based football with his toughness and football IQ. Might need some time to find his footing, but projects as a potential impact player for a College Football Playoff contender that can do the dirty work." Chad Bowden and Lincoln Riley are continuing to land elite talent on the recruiting trail. If the Trojans can hold their 2026 class together, it has the potential to be, on paper, at least, one of the best recruiting classes in USC football history.

While Oklahoma's quarterback situation remains a mystery in the 2026 recruiting class, one of their targets is having a week at the Elite 11 Finals in California. Four-star quarterback and Oklahoma Sooners target, Bowe Bentley, has performed well at the Elite 11 finals and earned the distinction of top performer from night two by Rivals recruiting expert Adam Gorney. Down to Oklahoma and LSU, Bentley delivered arguably the best performance of the night. What we loved the most is that the Celina, Texas four-star was firing the ball on most throws, really spinning it and getting it there with purpose. He was good throwing from the pocket, escaping pressure, resetting and getting it out and hitting receivers on every kind of route. It was a really strong, impressive showing that showed off a range of skills. - Gorney, Rivals In addition to Gorney's praise, Bentley earned high praise from 247Sports recruiting analysts Andrew Ivins and Tom Loy, who lauded Bentley's intermediate passing ability. Charles Power of On3 liked what he saw from Bentley and said he was 18 of 20 on his throws. Bentley is an incredible dual-threat quarterback. He can throw to all levels and has the athleticism and speed to create big plays with his legs. He's drawn some comparisons to Oklahoma starting quarterback John Mateer after an undefeated season for Celina. In his junior season, Bentley threw for 3,211 yards and 47 touchdowns and ran for 923 yards and 16 more scores on the ground. Both OU and LSU hosted Bentley for an official visit in the last month, and both schools feel like they're in a strong position to earn his pledge. Oklahoma attempting to get Bowe Bentley on campus for ChampU BBQ per report The Oklahoma Sooners' 2026 quarterback recruiting took a turn late Thursday night when Jaden O'Neal decommitted from the Sooners. That leaves the Sooners to focus entirely on four-star quarterback Bowe Bentley. In the wake of O'Neal's decommitment, the Sooners are looking to get Bentley back on campus this weekend, according to ESPN's Eli Lederman (formerly of Tulsa World). Bently just completed a strong showing in the Elite 11 finals in California this week. Bentley was the top performer on night two of the Elite 11 finals after completing 18 of 20 passes and looking good in the Pro Day element of the drills. Analysts marveled at his accuracy and ability to throw on the move. It's that athleticism that's made him one of the more highly sought after quarterbacks over the last six months. The four-star quarterback out of Celina, Texas has seen a meteoric rise in the rankings this offseason. In 247Sports rankings back in November, he was considered the No. 296 player in the class. In March, he shot up to No. 75 overall in the class. Now Bentley is down to two schools, the Sooners and the LSU Tigers. According to Lederman, a decision could be coming sooner rather than later. If Oklahoma is able to get Bentley back on campus this weekend for the ChampU BBQ, just two weeks after his official visit at the beginning of June, it would be a significant development in his recruitment. NORMAN — What was speculated for months is now official. Four-star 2026 quarterback Jaden O'Neal decommitted from OU on Thursday night, he announced via social media. O'Neal had been committed to the Sooners since last June. "More than just my talent and skill set, I appreciated how the staff respected me for who I am and for the values my parents instilled in me. "But a lot has changed since last June." Bentley visited OU earlier this month and is expected to make his decision soon. Advertisement Bentley participated in Elite 11, the nation's premier quarterback competition, this past week in Los Angeles and ESPN reported Thursday night the Sooners are efforting heavily to get Bentley back on campus this weekend. O'Neal, the No. 1 player in Oklahoma and No. 14 quarterback nationally according to 247Sports' Composite ranking, transferred from Narbonne High School in California to Mustang High School this past spring. He visited Florida State earlier this week. O'Neal is the second commit the Sooners have lost this week, joining three-star interior offensive lineman Will Conroy, who flipped to North Carolina. BREAKING: Oregon Ducks land commitment from 5-star S Jett Washington
The Oregon Ducks are officially on a recruiting hot streak. After landing 4-star wide receiver Messiah Hampton on Friday morning, Dan Lanning and his squad followed it up with a massive addition, getting a commitment from 5-star safety Jett Washington. Standing at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds, Washington is rated by 247Sports as the No. 18 player and No. 2 safety in the 2026 class. Washington is Oregon's second safety committed in the 2026 class, joining 4-star Xavier Lherisse. Washington was in Eugene last weekend for his official visit, and he had rave reviews after leaving Eugene. He was one of six 5-star players in town during the first weekend of June, joining the likes of S Joey O'Brien, EDGE Ricahed Wesley, WR Calvin Russell, CB Brandon Arrington, and LB Tyler Atkinson.
