Actor Diana Penty has been in a long-term relationship with her boyfriend, diamond merchant Harsh Sagar. While the couple has been dating each other since more than a decade and living together in Mumbai, they don't feel the urgency to tie the knot. In a recent interview, Diana opened up about her decision and spoke about the preconceived notion that models are promiscuous.
During a conversation with Hauterrfly, the actor shared her thoughts about marriage, revealing that they and their families are in no rush. 'Yes, I am not single. I will not go on a rooftop and shout about it, but my partner and I have been together for 12 years, and we've known each other for 22 years, which is half of my life. So even though I am not married, in my head I am. It's the same thing because you're respecting the relationship in the same way,' she said.
'Both our families are very chill, they respect what we have. Both sides say that our happiness is most important. So, there's been no pressure of marriage. We live together. We have a dog together. Everybody knows we are together, there's no rush really. It's pretty much like being married, it's just that it's not on paper. But, that makes no difference to me or to him,' she added.

Diana, who began her modelling career in 2005 before making her acting debut in Cocktail (2012), also reacted to the common assumption that models are promiscuous. She said in a furious tone, 'I don't know where these perceptions come from. We are all human beings at the end of the day. Human beings who have certain principles, morals, ethics, their own set of how they have been brought up, what they are comfortable with and what not. Each to its own.'
The actor added, 'Everybody is different, everyone has their own personalities. It's not basis your profession, it's basis who you are. You respect everybody for who they are. Just because one person is a certain way, doesn't mean that everyone who is doing the same job is that certain way. That's like saying all directors are the same. There's one director who has a certain personality and does a few promiscuous things, so all directors do that. No! Everybody is different.'
When asked if any inappropriate advances have been made towards her during her modelling career, she replied, 'I have always right from the beginning set my boundaries and made it very clear. That's a part of who I am, I don't generally let people in my space easily. That's maybe because I am an only child.'
