NEW DELHI: South Africa's triumphant march to their maiden ICC World Test Championship title has translated into significant gains in the latest ICC Men's Test Player Rankings, with several Proteas stars being richly rewarded for their match-winning performances at Lord's.

, the Player of the Match in the WTC Final, headlined the rise, jumping seven places to 11th in the Test Batting Rankings - just two points shy of New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell in 10th. His composed 136 off 207 balls in the second innings powered South Africa to a five-wicket win over Australia, ending a 27-year drought for a major ICC trophy.

Markram's contribution with the ball also saw him surge an incredible 44 spots in the All-Rounders' Rankings.
Middle-order batter David Bedingham climbed 17 positions to 40th, while Lungi Ngidi's inspired spell lifted him seven places in the Bowling Rankings to joint 37th.
