YSRCP organises rallies to mark 'Betrayal Day', protests against CM Chandrababu Naidu
East Godavari (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 4 (ANI): YSR Congress Party, led by YS Jaganmohan Reddy, organised a rally in Rajamahendravaram Rural, East Godavari, on the occasion of 'Betrayal Day', to mark the first anniversary of the TDP-led government.
YSRCP East Godavari District President and Former Minister Chelluboyina Venugopala Krishna led the rally. Following the rally, the former minister submitted a representation to the District Collector.
A large number of party leaders, workers, and supporters actively participated in the rally, which was organised to protest against the N Chandrababu Naidu government.
YSRCP shared posts on X, showing visuals from protests marking 'Betrayal Day' held in multiple locations. The rally in Rajampet was led by Meda Raghunath Reddy. MPs Mithun Reddy and Maddila Gurumoorthy participated in the rally in Sarvepalli constituency, and Chandragiri constituency in-charge Chevireddy Mohith Reddy organised a huge rally in Chandragiri constituency.
According to an X post by YSRCP, after the rally, MP Gurumoorthy said that the coalition government came to power by making false promises to the people, and it is ridiculous for the coalition leaders to say that today is a festival day for the people. The MP said that people think that this is not a government that celebrates festivals, but a government of pure violence. He said that the false promises given by the coalition will burn the coalition government like fire in the coming days. He warned that YSRCP workers and leaders are being harassed with illegal cases to divert people's attention from election promises, and there is no point in being afraid of such wildfires. He said on this occasion that more such protest programs will be organised against the failures of the government in the future.
Sharing a video on '1 year of CBN Back Stabbing', YSRCP wrote on X, 'Super-6 turned out to be a golden duck. AP people won't forget this betrayal.'
Meanwhile, Naidu-led TDP is celebrating the day as 'Praja Teerpu Dinam' (People's Victory Day). (ANI)

The PM later joined the volunteers to perform Yoga. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also spoke at the event. Mr. Naidu said Mr. Modi made Yoga popular not only in India but across the world, turning it into a global wellness movement. Mr. Naidu highlighted that Yoga Day is being celebrated in more than 175 countries, across 12 lakh locations with the participation of over 10 crore people. "I am thanking our visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making Yoga popular not only in India [but also] across the world. He started International Yoga Day through the United Nations and made Yoga a global wellness movement," said Mr. Naidu.

Haryana govt finally blinks, sets up panel to break HAU standoff
Ten days after peacefully protesting students of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU) Hisar, were lathi-charged, the Nayab Singh Saini-led BJP government on Friday finally 'took cognizance' of the incident, setting up a four-member panel to hold talks with the students and resolve the standoff. The students at CCSHAU, Hisar, have been protesting since June 10 in the wake of a clash with university staff. (HT File) The panel includes education minister Mahipal Dhanda; public works minister Ranbir Gangwa; social justice and empowerment minister Krishan Kumar Bedi, and Nalwa segment MLA Randhir Panihar. The mandate of this committee is to meet the students, hear their grievances and work towards a resolution of the logjam. 'Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, taking cognizance of issues related to CCSHAU, has constituted a four-member committee to hold dialogue with the students,' a government spokesperson said. 'The CM has made it clear that the Haryana government is fully committed to safeguarding the interests of youth and students. The government stands with the youth and students at every level,' he added. The students at CCSHAU, Hisar, have been protesting since June 10 in the wake of a clash with university staff. Despite mounting outrage from academics and Opposition political parties over the use of force against the students, administrative apathy, and alleged political interference, the Haryana government had remained silent until now. The unrest began when students gathered outside vice-chancellor BR Kamboj's residence on June 10 to protest changes to the university's stipend structure and the rollback of seat reservations for Land Donation Villages (LDV). The situation escalated when university officials and security personnel allegedly unleashed a brutal lathi-charge, leaving at least 20 students injured. The cane charge was cruel so much so that some students suffered deep head wounds requiring six to 30 stitches. The state government's decision to set up a panel comes ahead of students announcing to hold a mahapanchayat on June 24 against the varsity administration. Students have been observing sit-ins demanding the arrest of two university officials and the resignation of vice-chancellor BR Kamboj in response to a lathi charge on June 10. The university had earlier formed a three-member committee to resolve the issue but the students refused to hold talks with them. They are demanding the arrest of remaining accused named in the FIR, termination of key officials, and protection from disciplinary action against those involved in the protest.

Flight carrying 290 Indian students from Iran lands in Delhi, two more expected later today
A special evacuation flight carrying 290 Indian students stranded in conflict-hit Iran landed safely in Delhi late Friday night, marking the first phase of India's Operation Sindhu. Two more chartered flights, including one from Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, are expected to land later on Saturday. 'Iran's airspace is currently closed, but we're facilitating limited access for the safe evacuation of Indian nationals,' said Mohammad Javad Hosseini, deputy chief of mission at the Iranian embassy in Delhi. He added that additional flights may be planned in the coming days and confirmed close coordination with the Indian government. Evacuees recall uncertainty, horror in Iran Chants of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' and 'Hindustan Zindabad' rang out at Delhi Airport as soon as a special evacuation flight touched down in Indian territory. Students arriving in Delhi recounted harrowing days of uncertainty and praised Indian authorities for swift action. 'The Indian government has done a lot for us. I can't express how peaceful you feel when you reach your own country,' news agency PTI quoted one evacuee as she arrived from Mashhad. Sehrish Rafique, an MBBS student at Iran University of Medical Sciences, told ANI, 'The situation in Iran was quite devastating. At first, we didn't expect that it would escalate so much. All Kashmiris are really thankful to the Indian government.' Tazkiya Fatima, a resident of Noida, said, 'There is a situation of war over there. We were not sure how we would make it out…But the Government of India made the whole process very smooth,' reported ANI. The news agency talked to another evacuee, Mir Mohammad Musharraf, who said, 'I am from Pulwama, Kashmir. Operation Sindhu is amazing and really helpful. The services were excellent. We contacted our embassy. We were stuck in Tehran, unaware of what to do. Our landlords also left and were left behind. It was only our embassy that helped us reach here.' Several evacuees also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for facilitating their safe return. According to the ministry of external affairs, 'Out of the 290 Indians who landed today, 190 are from Jammu and Kashmir." The MEA further expressed happiness that Iran opened its airspace to facilitate this operation. "It reflects the strong ties between India and Iran,' said Arun Kumar Chatterjee, secretary (consular, passport and visa), MEA. Approx. 10,000 Indians living in Iran As the Israel-Iran war enters its second week, India has stepped up efforts to bring home its citizens from the region. Around 10,000 Indians—primarily students—were residing in Iran when the hostilities escalated. Most had been relocated from Tehran to safer cities like Qom and Mashhad before being evacuated. Indian authorities have not issued a formal evacuation advisory but have urged citizens in both Iran and Israel to remain vigilant and restrict movement. 'We are arranging for the safe passage of Indians who want to leave via air or via road through third countries, or directly from Iran,' Hosseini reiterated.
