Goldfields police suspend search for Perth man Paul Lamp missing for weeks
Police and family members say they have increasingly grave concerns for a Perth man missing from almost three weeks.
Paul Michael Lamp left his home in Chidlow on May 9 and was last seen shopping in Kalgoorlie, 600 kilometres east of Perth, on May 10.
Police believe the 54-year-old then headed west, with a phone pinging a transmission tower near Coolgardie later that day.
Mr Lamp's family has since joined police and State Emergency Service volunteers searching a 1,600km area of remote scrubland for leads on his whereabouts.
While that search effort was suspended at the weekend, Goldfields Police Superintendent Mick Kelly said fresh information from the public remained critical.
"There are grave concerns for his welfare," he said.
"If he does hear this particular message please reach out to your family, your loved ones are hurting.
He said it is not known why Mr Lamp travelled to the Goldfields and there is no evidence of criminality in his disappearance.
It is understood his family had previously travelled in the area when he was younger, but is otherwise unclear why he chose Coolgardie.
"Mr Lamp, like some of us, did show an interest in prospecting shows," Superintendent Kelly said.
"Enquiries with local prospectors that are out there at the moment, and prospecting shops, have not indicated anything to suggest he may have purchased equipment to go looking for gold."
Many of Mr Lamp's family have travelled to the area to assist the search.
His sister Rachael Lamp expressed her gratitude for all the people who have helped with the search.
"We've got volunteers that have been amazing, people we don't even know, locals, police have been fabulous. The SES," she said.
"He's a member of a big family and we all love him.
"We all need him home.
"If anybody's got any information at all please contact the police and let them know."
Mr Lamp was driving a blue Nissan Navara utility with the registration plate 1HNT 095.
He was identified on CCTV wearing an olive green t-shirt, dark blue training pants, and black thongs with a white sole.
He is approximately 180 centimetres tall with tanned skin, a medium to solid build, with thick, short, dark hair and brown eyes.
Anyone who has seen Mr Lamp, or with any information relating to his whereabouts, can call police on 131 444.

AFLW star Tilly Lucas-Rodd has revealed they are 'so happy' and feel so much like themselves after having gender-affirming top surgery during the off-season. The 29-year-old Hawthorn star is the league's first current player to undergo the surgery - which removes breast tissue in a similar way to a double mastectomy - and said they feel so much more comfortable. 'People often have asked me, 'How do I feel now that I've had it' - post-surgery, seeing myself,' Lucas-Rodd, who identifies as non-binary, told ABC Sport. '... for me, it was like, 'this is how I've always looked when I saw myself' … This is what I've always thought and always seen internally.' Prior to the surgery, Lucas-Rodd was taping or binding their chest and wearing a guernsey multiple sizes too large in order to reduce dysphoria. This practice however, was causing issues, sometimes restricting breathing and movement, and creating back pain. Since returning to training, however, Lucas-Rodd said they are relishing the freedom of not needing a sports bra or chest bindings. 'Going out onto the track in our training guernseys or our singlets, I just feel so, so happy and so just like me,' they said. 'I had huge discomfort around my chest, huge dysphoria. It didn't match up with what I felt internally I should look like.' The halfback came out publicly as non-binary in 2023, saying at the time that they 'don't really identify strongly as my assigned gender at birth, which is female.' 'I don't really feel strongly that I fit into that label as a female, and at the same time I don't feel like I'm a male, either. I guess I'm in between that,' they said in a video shared on the Hawthorn website. 'So for me, the label 'non-binary' feels most comfortable about how I identify in terms of my gender.' Two other AFLW players, Carlton star Darcy Vescio and former Gold Coast player Tori Groves-Little, also identify as non-binary, and two former players have undergone gender-reaffirming top surgery since leaving the league. Lucas-Rodd spoke to their Hawthorn teammates about the surgery when returning to training and said they were met with 'such love and acceptance'. While opening themselves up to public commentary by sharing their story has been nerve-racking, Lucas-Rodd said they hope to help others in a similar position. 'It's also to show gender diverse and trans people that there is a place for them in sport,' they said. 'Coming out publicly with top surgery, people will say and do what they want, but I'm trying to show people that no matter what gender you are, no matter how you express that, no matter anything about you, that you belong in sport and you belong in sport at a professional and elite level. 'That's a big thing for me … being like regardless of your gender and how you express that, there is this place for you in sport.' ‘Had to wait': TikToker's horror ING ordeal
A Melbourne woman was left without money for two days after ING suspended her account for what they deemed to be 'suspicious activity'. In an ordeal that has left her switching banks, Katie McMaster posted to TikTok after being left without access to her card and unable to withdraw money due to a flag on her account. She said she was initially sent an email on Tuesday, telling her that her accounts had been suspended and she needed to verify her identity. Ms McMaster called ING to verify the email was legit, where she was told she would need to wait up to two days for the fraud team to get back to her. 'They said I need to wait for the fraud team to contact me. I can't speak to them, they wouldn't transfer me to them, I had to wait for them to email me,' she said in the video. After two days – and calling ING multiple times – Ms McMaster finally had her accounts unsuspended. She said the fraud team told her there was just 'one person' managing the fraud inbox. Speaking to Ms McMaster said the 'suspicious activity' turned out to be a transfer with her friend for payment of a Usher ticket. 'I don't know if my TikTok helped, but suddenly, they moved pretty quickly,' she said. Ms McMaster said the verification process as a whole did not feel secure. 'They're sending you emails but then when you ring them and you're on hold, they say ING will never ask you to provide verification via email,' she said. She also said she did not have the option to go into a branch, as there are none in Melbourne. 'It was frustrating just waiting, I probably wouldn't have minded so much if they kept me in the loop,' she said. Ms McMaster said she is now moving banks after being with ING for more than a decade due to the ordeal, with many users on TikTok commenting about similar experiences. A spokeswoman for ING said the bank does place temporary 'holds' on an account if the bank detects 'suspicious transactions'. 'This often involves temporarily placing a hold on a customer's account until we can confirm the transactions with the customer,' she said. 'We recognise that temporarily pausing activity on an account can impact customers, so we always check they have access to essential funds, ensuring they are not placed in financial hardship.'
