Rivals250 2026 CB Khary Adams commits to Notre Dame
Notre Dame earned a big victory on the recruiting trail, landing a verbal commitment from class of 2026 four-star cornerback Khary Adams on Friday. Adams, who currently attends Loyola Blakefield High School in Towson, Maryland, is a member of the Rivals250, checking in at No. 246 nationally. He also ranks as the No. 5 prospect in the state of Maryland and the No. 19 cornerback in the 2026 cycle. Advertisement He is coming off of his official visit to South Bend during the weekend of June 13 through June 15 and the Fighting Irish did enough to convince Adams to join Notre Dame. Penn State was previously considered the front-runner for Adams, following his official visit to Happy Valley from May 16 through May 18, but ultimately Notre Dame checked off all the boxes for what Adams was looking for in a program. "Scheme, the environment and the plan they have for me," Adams previously told Rivals when asked what is important to him in his recruitment. "And also NIL (is a factor)." He will play his college football under head coach Marcus Freeman, defensive coordinator Chris Ash, defensive backs coach/defensive pass game coordinator Mike Mickens and the rest of the Notre Dame staff. Adams also took recent official visits to Oregon, South Carolina, Michigan and Maryland as well. Advertisement In addition to the schools mentioned above, Adams received scholarship offers from Arizona, Auburn, Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Miami (FL.), Michigan State, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee, USC, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Wisconsin and others. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Adams is a play-making defensive back with great speed thanks to his track and field background. He is strong in pass coverage in both man-to-man and zone concepts and possesses impressive ball skills. Adams also plays wide receiver for the Dons and is electric with the ball in his hands. As a junior in 2024, Adams earned first-team MIAA "A" All-Conference honors as a defensive back. He recorded 39 tackles, two tackles for loss, four interceptions, 12 pass break-ups and two fumble recoveries. Offensively, Adams amassed 31 receptions for 703 yards (22.7 yards per catch) and eight touchdowns. With Adams' commitment, Notre Dame's 2026 class now includes 18 total pledges. Hannah Hidalgo has made the Women's FIBA AmeriCup roster as it starts later this month The FIBA Women's AmeriCup will start up on June 28th, and on Thursday it was announced that Notre Dame star Hannah Hidalgo has made the team. She will team up with her former teammate, Olivia Miles, who transferred to TCU, as the USA will look to take gold during the vent. Following three days for trials, the roster has been set and Hidalgo is no stranger for playing for her country. In 2023, the Irish star helped the U19 Women's National Team take home a gold medal, along with three other players who made the team. Hidalgo was also on the 2022 U17 team that took home gold, along with playing for the USA at the Nike Hoop Summit according to USA Basketball's release. The United States will open its play against host Chile, and then will play Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Mexico in Group B. The goal is to win this tournament, which will allow them a berth into the 2025 FIBA Women's World Cup that will be played in Berlin, Germany next summer. Recruiting insiders pick who they think 2026 star safety Joey O'Brien will commit to The day has come to find out if Notre Dame football will be adding another elite prospect to its 2026 recruiting class, as Pennsylvania 4-star safety Joey O'Brien will make his commitment later today at 7:15 p.m. ET. The 6-foot, 3-inch and 185-pound star will be picking either Penn State, Oregon, Clemson or the Irish, and whoever wins out on his recruitment will be getting one of the nation's best. O'Brien is currently ranked as the No. 65 overall prospect in the cycle according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Many recruiting insiders have weighed in on who they believe O'Brien will pick, and starting off with 247Sports where there are two predictions, both having him selecting Notre Dame. It's not just Irish insiders making the pick, as Austin Hannon, a Tigers reporter, also picked the Irish on Wednesday. Over at On3, they also like the Irish's chances, as 91.4% of their predictions have the Blue and Gold winning out. Their data is gathered from insiders, social sentiment, historical data and more. Finally, looking at what Rivals thinks happens with O'Brien, they also like Notre Dame's chances, with every one of its FutureCast's going in favor of the Irish. At one point Richard O'Leary has picked the Nittany Lions, but changed his mind and switched over to the Irish. Just by looking at the major three recruiting outlets, it very much looks like Notre Dame will be landing a star safety in O'Brien later today.
