2026 Rivals250 OT Grayson McKeogh commits to Notre Dame

Class of 2026 four-star offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh is Notre Dame bound. McKeogh announced his commitment to the Fighting Irish on Wednesday, after intially targeting July 1 for his decision date. McKeogh is coming off of an official visit to Notre Dame this past weekend (June 13 through June 15). Advertisement Prior to that, he took an official visit to Penn State during the weekend of June 6 through June 8. McKeogh was also planning a trip to Texas this coming weekend (June 20 through June 22) for his official visit in Austin, but he will no longer make that trek after Notre Dame was able to secure his pledge. The La Salle College High School (Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania) standout ranks as the No. 210 prospect overall in the Rivals250. He also ranks as the No. 4 recruit in the state of Pennsylvania and No. 23 offensive tackle in the 2026 cycle. At Notre Dame, McKeogh will play under head coach Marcus Freeman, offensive coordinator/tight ends coach, Mike Denbrock, offensive line coach Joe Ruldoph and the rest of the staff. While Notre Dame competes as an independent instead of in a conference, the Fighting Irish met the criteria in which McKeogh was searching for in a college program. Advertisement "The biggest things in my recruitment are athletic reputation, conference (or competition), academics and campus/social life," McKeogh previously told In addition to the schools mentioned, McKeogh has received scholarship offers from Alabama, Boston College, Duke, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Stanford, Syracuse, Tennessee, Wake Forest, West Virginia, Wisconsin and others. The 6-foot-8, 280-pound McKeogh earned first-team All-State honors as a junior in 2024. He also plays basketball for La Salle. In the classroom, he carries a 4.14 grade point average. He joins fellow four-stars Sullivan Garvin, Tyler Merrill, Ben Nichols and Gregory Patrick. The Fighting Irish currently rank fifth in the national recruiting team rankings. Notre Dame Coordinators Talk Continuity And Takeaways From Spring Practice

Today, Notre Dame's offensive and defensive coordinators spoke with the media after practice. The Irish are over a third of the way through spring practice, and new defensive coordinator Chris Ash and second year offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock had a lot to say in this afternoon's press conference about getting acclimated to this 2025 team, and the state of the union on both sides of the ball. There's a lot of speculation and promise lingering on both sides of the ball for Notre Dame and head coach Marcus Freeman this spring. The Irish are slated to be one of the top returning teams this upcoming season. Both Coach Ash and Coach Denbrock will play an integral role in the team's success this season. Advertisement You can watch the full press conference here: Here are some of their comments: Chris Ash On What's Stood Out To Him This Spring "These guys are smart players and they can retain information. You can throw a lot at them and you can go from the meeting room, to walk throughs, to the practice field. It doesn't take a lot of reps for these guys to get it. Conceptually, we've been pretty consistent with what's been done here in the past so that helps. I'm just impressed at the volume of what these guys can retain and take from the meeting room to the practice field." Chris Ash On The Defensive Line "I see players at all three levels that can make plays and do some things that I'm really excited about. Our interior defensive line is probably better than what I had initially thought. There's more depth there; the two transfers have really fit in nice and done a great job. Jason Onye is a guy that wasn't here for a chunk of last season dealing with personal things. He's back in the mix and doing a great job. That group as a position group has stood out more than anything. Advertisement It's everything. Everything starts up front especially inside if you're going to control the line of scrimmage. You have to have those big guys inside and I think we have them." Mike Denbrock On Going Into Year Two "So, year one, you're hoping to establish an identity, a base of what you do and how you do it. You can teach scheme and you try to dig into details as much as you possibly can, but, you have to play games and win games as well. It's kind of a balancing act in year one. Year two gives you a chance to take a deep breathe, assess the things you really liked about what you did, and the things you need to change and adapt to. Year two gives you an opportunity to slow down and really dig into the details. It's all over the cut ups and the tapes from last year's offensive unit. If we're a little better at the details in situational football, we're going to be really hard to stop. A lot of times, we were the ones stopping ourselves. Getting that stuff cleaned up and getting everybody on the same page in year two is a big piece of the puzzle." Mike Denbrock On The Difficulty Of Naming A Starter "At this point, I'd tell you it's going to be incredibly difficult. All three of the guys are playing very consistently, they're making good decisions with the ball, they've got a good understanding of the offense which is obviously a benefit again from going into year two and having a full year under their belt. It's going to come down to some very specific things at the end and we'll evaluate those things as we go. All three guys at this point in the spring have done a really nice job." Why did NFL Draft prospect Riley Leonard transfer from Duke to Notre Dame?

Riley Leonard will be just one of a handful of Notre Dame stars waiting anxiously to find out where they will land in the NFL Draft this coming week. On Thursday, the 2025 edition of the NFL Draft will get underway in Green Bay, with Leonard expected to be a late-round selection. The 22-year-old nearly ended his college career with a storybook finish after he transferred to Notre Dame for the 2024 NCAA season from Duke. And during his lone season with Notre Dame, he helped guide the Fighting Irish to the National Championship game, which Leonard and co. ultimately lost to Ohio State . Following an injury plagued 2023 season with Duke, Leonard transferred to Notre Dame, throwing for 2,861 yards, 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions. On the ground, Leonard also proved a threat too, adding 904 yards on 184 carries for an average of nearly five yards. He also scored 17 rushing touchdowns. And his decision to transfer to South Bend to join the Fighting Irish was due to several different factors, with Leonard outlining the talent of the players he would be playing with, and the level of coaching he would be receiving as standouts for joining Notre Dame. Leonard led the Fighting Irish to the National Championship game earlier this year (Image: Getty) Speaking to ESPN last year, Leonard, via On3 , said: "So it's a couple things [on why he chose Notre Dame]. No. 1, the players. On my official visit, we took a dinner downtown, and that's kind of what ended up convincing me, that I wanted to go there. "You walk into the locker room every day, you want to be around guys that just have your back, and are great people, on and off the field, and Notre Dame's got it. The coaching staff, as well. You've got to throw that I there. The coaching staff plays a big part." And then his focussed turned to the impact of playing for offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock, who coached the likes of LSU stars Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. during the 2023 season - with all three going on to be selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. 'Obviously, you have a coordinator like Mike Denbrock, coming from LSU, where Jayden Daniels obviously had a great year, so I'm exciting to get into that offense," added Leonard. "He always say we've got the keys to the car, so to be able to operate an offense like that, that'll be a lot of fun for me.'

Notre Dame OC Mike Denbrock has an 'incredibly difficult' decision to make at quarterback

Notre Dame OC Mike Denbrock has an 'incredibly difficult' decision to make at quarterback The biggest position battle for Notre Dame football this spring is at quarterback, and offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock has yet to make a decision, one that he said recently is 'going to be incredibly difficult.' The main players to take over the starting spot are Steve Angeli, CJ Carr, and Kenny Minchey with Blake Hebert trying to jump over those three. Denbrock has very good options to take over for the now departed Riley Leonard, but 'all three of the guys are playing very well, consistently. They're making good decisions with the ball.' These are things that you love to hear from Notre Dame's OC, as whoever takes over will have plenty of weapons at their disposal. You'd have to expect the starter to be leaning on the running game early in the season, as they get their feet wet in the college game. None of them have extensive experience, although Angeli did start the 2024 Sun Bowl and guide Notre Dame to a win. As the spring continues toward the Blue and Gold game, we will keep monitoring which quarterback is separating themselves from the field.
