
Rupee rises by 13 paise to 86.59 against USD
Mumbai, Jun 20 (UNI) Snapping the three day losing streak, Rupee on Friday appreciated by 13 paise to close at 86.59 against the US dollar.
Dollar saw relatively weak demand by bankers and importers, after crude oil prices eased, a forex trader said.
The rupee opened 9 paise higher at 86.63 against the dollar. It closed the previous session at 86.72.
The partially convertible rupee recorded an intra-day high and low of 86.54 and 86.67respectively, dealers added.

LIC Housing Finance reduces lending rates to 7.50 pc on new home loans
Kolkata, June 21 (UNI) LIC Housing Finance has reduced its rate of interest on new home loans by 50 basis points. With this revision, interest rates on new home loan sanctions will now start from 7.50 per cent effective June 19, 2025, coinciding with the company's 36th foundation day. This move follows the recent repo rate cuts announced by the RBI's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), with LIC HFL passing on the benefit to new home loan customers to encourage home ownership and improve affordability, an LIC statement said on Saturday. The rate cut is a continuation of our effort to align with RBI's policy direction and pass on the benefits to our customers. HD Kumaraswamy practises yoga at Salem Steel Plant
Salem (TN), June 21 (UNI) Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, HD Kumaraswamy, participated in the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations held at the Salem Steel Plant. The Minister joined factory staff, their family members, senior officials, members of the Steel Authority of India (SAIL), and top officials from the Ministry of Steel in performing yoga. Under the guidance of yoga instructors, the Minister performed some key and simple asanas and pranayama at the Hill View Sports Ground located in Salem Township. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kumaraswamy said, 'Yoga has been a way of life in India since ancient times. A practice once limited to India was brought onto the global stage by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he took office eleven years ago.
