Ed Sheeran accidentally confirms return to Australia as fans brace for another record-breaking tour

Daily Mail02-06-2025

Ed Sheeran has accidentally let slip that he'll be returning to Australia in early 2026 - three years after his record breaking tour Down Under.
The British hitmaker, 34, made the casual revelation in a TikTok comment this week, setting off a frenzy among fans already preparing for the next stadium spectacular.
The tour bombshell was picked up by Nova 96.9 radio host Smallzy who shared the exchange to his Instagram Story with the hilarious caption: 'BRB selling organs to buy concert tickets'.
In the now-viral TikTok, a fan asked the singer: 'How does coming back to Australia soon sound to you?'
Ed, without skipping a beat, replied: 'Start of 2026'.

While no official announcement has been made, Daily Mail Australia reached out to the star's management team - who didn't deny the claim but teased that something major is coming.
'We aren't in the habit of pre-announcing announcements – but there will be news on our plans for 26 later this summer,' a spokesperson said.
It comes as Sheeran continues to trek across Europe on his Mathematics Tour, which first kicked off in Dublin in 2022 and is currently selling out stadiums in Madrid and beyond.
The multi-platinum artist last performed in Australia in 2023, where he made headlines for smashing attendance records.
Since then, the father-of-two has continued to drop new music, including the emotional tracks Azizam and Old Phone, rumoured to be featured on his eighth studio album.
With smash hits like Shape of You, Perfect and Photograph each pulling in more than two billion Spotify streams, Sheeran remains one of the most successful artists of his generation.
He currently boasts 90 million monthly listeners on the platform, making him the third-most followed artist globally.
Over the years, the former busker-turned-global superstar has collaborated with music royalty including Adele, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and Beyoncé - cementing his place in pop history.
It comes after last week Ed shared a series of throwback snaps to Instagram, including a fun selfie with Taylor Swift, while also reflecting on his copyright trial.
The star launched a new Instagram account to celebrate his 'emotional' new single Old Phone.
The account featured a number of never-before-seen pictures, texts, and lyric notes, and came ahead of the release of his new single on Thursday April 29.
Ed was inspired to write the new song when revisiting his old phone during the copyright lawsuit around his hit single Thinking Out Loud.
At the time, Ed denied he had ripped off Marvin Gaye's soul classic Let's Get it On for his 2014 hit song, and in 2023 was cleared in court.
Explaining the new account, Ed penned in a new Instagram post: 'Put the sound on and have a listen. I got rid of my phone 2015, and moved onto email full time. I just turned my phone off December '15 and that was it.
'When I got sued, the judge ordered me to give up my old devices to the other sides lawyers, to look through messages, emails, voice notes, videos, etc, to see if there was anything on there to help their case. In the process, I switched on my old phone.

'The first message was from my friend Jamal Edwards, who had recently passed away. The second was from my ex girlfriend who I hadn't been in contact with for years. The third was a family member I haven't spoken to in a decade. And so on.'
Ed shared pictures with pals including Taylor and the late Jamal Edwards, with the musician admitting looking through the phone made him emotional for a number of reasons.
Ed continued: 'It felt like a time capsule, a time of life that I was in, and living at that time in 2015. Turning it on really spun me out, I found myself scrolling messages and conversations with people who are no longer here.
'I found myself crying at messages to friends who are now dead, who I won't get to speak to again. I found old photos of me with people I was so close to then, but we've lost touch since.
'The whole experience was such an emotional journey. I wrote the song Old Phone on my own at 2am whilst jet lagged in India finishing the album, and recorded it that morning. It feels like a song that should've been on my debut album, but also a song I couldn't have written until I experienced real life things happening to me.'
Speaking on the meaningful new song, Ed added: 'It makes me emotional to sing, I hope it finds some emotion in you too.'

Ioan Gruffudd's wife Bianca Wallace reveals brutal reality of her pregnancy after his ex-Alice Evans shares reaction to their baby news: 'Some kind of torture'

's wife, Bianca Wallace, has shared a brutally honest account of her difficult pregnancy journey. The Australian actress, 32, who is expecting her first child with the Fantastic Four star, 51, took to Instagram to share a raw photo diary and series of emotional videos documenting what she described as 'some kind of torture' during her first trimester. 'Life lately… Some real moments, because no one needs to be as shocked as I was to find out how f**ked pregnancy actually is,' she wrote, alongside 13 images and videos detailing weeks of intense morning sickness and physical pain. In one confronting clip, Bianca is seen lying in bed with a heat pack, grimacing in pain as she describes how constant vomiting left her bedridden and unable to sleep. She revealed she vomited so violently she threw her back out for four days, and shared a snap of herself looking pale and drained after throwing up 67 times in one day. The Australian actress, 32, who is expecting her first child with the Fantastic Four star, 51, took to Instagram to share a raw photo diary and series of emotional videos documenting what she described as 'some kind of torture' during her first trimester In another photo, she is seen clutching a bowl of cornflakes - one of the only foods she could stomach for weeks. The post was both a personal confession and a public service announcement. She reassured others who may be experiencing similarly rough pregnancies, writing: 'You're not crazy! More often than not it isn't just nausea and "morning sickness". It IS sh*t and rough and f**ked and it IS ok to be honest about it!' Her pregnancy update comes just over a week after Bianca and Ioan announced they were expecting their first child together, posting a sweet black-and-white image of the actor kissing his wife's baby bump. 'Baby Gruffudd poppin' out to say hello!' they captioned the snap, which was met with an outpouring of love from fans and celebrity friends. But while the couple's news delighted many, it appeared to trigger a scathing response from Ioan's ex-wife Alice Evans, 55, who shared her own cryptic post following the announcement. Without naming the couple, Alice wrote: 'Some people like to go low. I can't. Not because I'm better. But because I have kids. This s**t is some kind of torture.' The post sparked speculation among fans that it was a veiled dig at her ex and his new wife, reigniting tensions from the pair's bitter public split. Ioan and Alice finalised their divorce in July 2023 but remain locked in a fiery legal battle over spousal and child support for their two daughters, Ella, 15, and Elsie, 11. Court documents have detailed years of alleged abuse, online harassment, and restraining orders. Bianca was previously granted a three-year domestic violence restraining order against Alice, with Ioan claiming his ex had embarked on a 'smear campaign' against them. Despite the drama, Ioan and Bianca have pressed on with their life together, sharing footage in April of their low-key wedding ceremony with the caption: 'Mr & Mrs Gruffudd. Marriage now, wedding later.' Ioan, who currently stars in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, which has grossed over $400 million globally, has denied Alice's claims that she and their children have been left destitute, saying he's paid over $400,000 more than required under their prenup. Meanwhile, Alice recently revealed she had been evicted from her Los Angeles home, later launching a GoFundMe campaign to help her find housing. 'Thanks to all of you, my girls and I and Emma [the family dog] have a roof over our heads,' she said in a recent update, thanking supporters for their donations. While Ioan and Bianca continue to navigate the highs and lows of pregnancy – and public scrutiny – the couple appear focused on their growing family, with Bianca finishing her post on a lighter note, sharing that her dog Bubba has become her 'protector' through it all. 'This week… Bubba's still taking his protector job very seriously,' she wrote, sharing an adorable image of the pup curled up next to her baby bump.

Twisties announce new flavour across Australia - and it's VERY controversial: 'Absolutely not'

Two iconic Aussie food brands have unexpectedly collaborated on an unusual new snack. Twisties have teamed up with ice block brand Zooper Dooper to create a unique food mash-up. From this week, shoppers will be able to get their hands on packs of limited-edition Twisties Zooper Dooper Fairy Floss. The new flavour variety sees the classic Twisties revamped as a crunchy and candy-coloured snack. The snack food is described as combining the 'nostalgic sweet flavour of Zooper Dooper's Fairy Floss with the iconic Twisties crunch'. The result is a 'a taste explosion that's weird [and] wonderful,' according to the product description. A Twisties brand spokesperson confirmed the 'surprise' collaboration, adding that it blended two beloved Aussie food flavours in an 'unexpected way'. Simon Odisho, who is Brand Manager at PepsiCo said: 'Twisties Zooper Dooper Fairy Floss is the ultimate Aussie creation!' 'It's a flavour that is reminiscent of our childhoods in the most unexpected way possible.' 'We love to surprise our fans with flavours that are as bold as they are surprising, and what better way to launch a flavour this exciting than with a little fun of our own?' Zooper Dooper Brand Manager Georgia Fink agreed, adding that that the new flavour mash-up is 'bold, unexpected and unmistakably Aussie'. 'Teaming up with Twisties has created something truly unique that we know will transport our fans straight back to their childhood with just one bite!' But, there is (naturally!) a twist for the official launch of the exciting new snack, which arrives in IGA stores from Monday 23 June. For Monday 23 June only, Sydney-siders can make their way down to Romeo's IGA in Eveleigh to pick-up a free packet of the new Twisties Zooper Dooper Fairy Floss flavour. The catch? To get the free snack, they'll have to visit the store between 10am-3pm and 'Pay by Floss' - meaning, they have to show off their best flossing dance moves in exchange for a free packet of Twisties Zooper Dooper Fairy Floss. The one-day-only promotion was launched in collaboration with Gen Z TikTok dancer, Zac Jeremiah. Zac shared a punchy 15-second video to promote the campaign, which depicts him insisting that 'there's no way I'd dance for a new free Twisties Flavour', but then cuts to him alongside the Twisties mascot, demonstrating their best flossing moves. The Twisties Zooper Dooper Fairy Floss will be exclusively on shelf in IGA stores from the week commencing Monday 23 June, and will then roll out nationally on 30 July. However, it seems that some fans of the classic Twisties varieties are unimpressed by the new collaboration. Aussie foodie Russ Stuart, who posts food reviews to his popular social media channels taste tested the new flavour and scored it a lacklustre '4 out of 10'. A TikTok video posted to the @ account has notched up nearly 100K views and sees Russ tasting the new Twisties flavour, which he concedes does smell like a Fairy Floss flavoured Zooper Dooper. But the foodie's final verdict is that the limited edition snack tasted like 'jam on a Corn Thins without any butter'. The foodie's comments did not deter some excited shoppers, with one Instagram follower demanding to know where to 'find them' in stores. Meanwhile, other Twisties fans took to the comments section of Russ' video to suggest alternative Twisties flavours they wished the brand would launch. Among the suggestions were flavours like salt & vinegar, vegemite, BBQ, and beef.

Kellie Finlayson reveals time she 'didn't want to wake up' and 'asked the nurses to turn off the machines' amid terminal cancer diagnosis

Kellie Finlayson has given a heartbreaking insight into her terminal cancer battle in her new book. The brave mum, who is married to Port Adelaide star Jeremy Finlayson, is battling stage four bowel and lung cancer and has undergone thoracic surgery in recent months. She was first diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2021 and revealed in 2022 that the illness had spread to her lungs. Kellie has now opened up about her cancer diagnosis in her new book There Must Be More: Finding Purpose In The Face Of The Unimaginable. She discusses how one time she 'didn't want to wake up' and 'asked the nurses to turn off the machines'. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I talk about the days I didn't want to wake up and a time I asked nurses to turn off he machines. There are emotions there Jeremy didn't even know I had,' Kellie told Woman's Day. 'It was a very naked feeling when it was released but it's also the best thing I've ever done. People can understand where I've been.' The inspiring mum previously said she was 'so incredibly proud to share this piece with me and the world, and was still so confused every day as to why my story is worthy of being literally printed in a book.' 'Imposter syndrome is screaming, but deep down, I know this is bigger than me. 'This is for those who have faced devastation, for those who feel alone, for those who no longer have a voice to share their story. 'For those who are stuck for words, for those who feel helpless. 'I feel like I've lived a dozen lives, and somehow, beyond motherhood, becoming an author might just be the most surreal one yet. 'This is hope. This is me - the rawest version of me.' In March, Finlayson revealed she had undergone a VATS procedure to remove a piece of tissue from her lungs. VATS stands for Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery, which is a form of keyhole surgery. Pictured Kellie and Jeremy with their daughter In March, Finlayson revealed she had undergone a VATS procedure to remove a piece of tissue from her lungs. VATS stands for Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery, which is a form of keyhole surgery. She revealed that doctors had removed metastatic tissue from her lungs. Metastatic tissue occurs when cancer cells spread from a primary tumour to other areas in the body to form new tumours. The young mum published a clip of herself lying in a hospital bed, writing: 'Me a week ago'. In the next frame, Finlayson looked bright and well, sharing a brief clip of two scars on the left side of her rib cage following the surgery. 'Just over a week ago I was having a VATS wedge resection on my right lung to remove Mets and send off tissue to pathology in hope for more answers/better treatment plans,' Kellie captioned the video. 'I've had soooo many people checking in to see how I'm doing, thank you!!! 'And honestly, I'm so fine. Which I know is incredible given the major surgery I've just undergone and I know not everyone is as lucky. But hey, I'll take the wins when I can get them in this never-ending experience.'
