Tidco houses will be handed over by Dasara: NMC chief
Nellore: Municipal Commissioner YO Nandan said, following the directions of MA&UD Minister P Narayana, TIDCO houses would be handed over to the beneficiaries by Dasara festival.
He took representations from the public during Public Grievances Redressal System on Monday.
Responding to the plea of the petitioners over inordinate delay in handing over TIDCO houses, the Commissioner said the government is keen on providing infrastructure facilities in full fledged manner before handling them over to the beneficiaries. Hence, there is delay and causing inconvenience, he informed, adding that 90 per cent of works of infrastructure facilities were completed and the remaining works are under progress in a war foot manner.
Stating that houses are not sanctioned for a few beneficiaries for various reasons, Commissioner Nandan said following the government's directions, money will be refunded to them very soon. He stated that the municipal administration has already served notices to the beneficiaries, who owned the houses, to take them. If they are not interested, then the houses would be allocated to others, he added.
The Commissioner has warned of initiating stringent action against people, who constructed houses without proper permissions, adding that the municipal administration has already submitted petitions against 25 illegal constructions in the court and summons also sent to the building owners for initiating criminal action.
Deputy Commissioner Chennudu and others were present.

Formula E race case: KTR declines to submit mobile phone to ACB
HYDERABAD BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao has declined to submit his mobile phone to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) that is probing the Formula E race case citing privacy issues. Interestingly, the former MA&UD minister claimed that he had replaced his old mobile phone in the first quarter of 2024 with a new one and not used any other electronic devices during the relevant period pertaining to the Formula E race case. In his written reply to the ACB, KTR stated that such a direction violates fundamental rights and personal privacy guaranteed under the Constitution. Questioning the ACB's direction, he said that he had personally appeared before the ACB on June 16 and responded to all queries. Stating that ACB had served him a notice to submit the mobile phone used between November 1, 2021, and December 1, 2023, along with other electronic devices used by him, KTR pointed out that the notice did not specify the reason or purpose for seeking these devices. KTR emphasised that all official records relevant to the Formula E case were already available with the State Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department, and all decisions related to the case were made in his official capacity as Minister of that department. He added that if any electronic devices were to be examined, strict protocols laid down by the Supreme Court must be followed to avoid any tampering or misuse of data. He highlighted the importance of the right to privacy citing a relevant case in which the Supreme Court granted interim relief to a petitioner and instructed the Enforcement Directorate not to access or copy the contents of the petitioner's mobile phone.

Officials must act sincerely in resolving public grievances: Collector
Anantapur: Anantapur District Collector Dr Vinod Kumar emphasized the need for sincerity and prompt action in addressing public grievances through the Public Grievances Redressal System (PGRS). The Collector, along with Tadipatri MLA JC Asmith Reddy, received 461 petitions from the public during a PGRS programme held at the TTD Kalyana Mandapam in Yadiki Mandal on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he directed all transferred officials to immediately report to their new postings. He highlighted the newly issued guidelines which stipulate that government staff, including VROs, junior assistants, and secretariat employees, must not be posted in their native villages, mandals, or constituencies to maintain administrative integrity. First-level and second-level gazetted officers must also avoid postings in their own constituencies or revenue divisions. He stated that the government has already issued orders to ensure that no district officer serves in their home district and assured that any issues arising from these guidelines would be resolved accordingly. He also stressed the importance of prompt grievance resolution without delay, as directed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. He announced that random inspections and sample verifications would be conducted to assess the quality and effectiveness of grievance redressal. He said field-level officers must understand the correct process for resolving petitions and warned that officials would be contacted directly to verify the status of grievances submitted through the PGRS portal. Various department heads and district officials, including the Joint Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma, DRO A Malola, and special deputy collectors, were present at the event. Senior officials from departments like agriculture, revenue, housing, health, BC welfare, industries, and others also participated.
