The White Lotus fans terrified season 4 will be delayed after major announcement

Metro29-05-2025

The White Lotus creator Mike White is returning to his roots with reality series Survivor for the 50th (all-star) season – but fans have one concern.
The acclaimed showrunner may be best known these days for his deadly critiques of the mega-rich in his luxury resort series on HBO but we all have an origin story.
For those not in the know, get ready for a bonkers piece of Mike White lore.
In 2018, Mike appeared on the 37th season, David vs. Goliath, and landed an agonising second place. This time we have no doubt he'll be going for the crown as he method acts his show out, for a second time.
The long-running US reality series strands contestants on a deserted island where they compete in a series of challenges for the chance to win $1million (£742k).
Survivor 50 is scheduled to film in Fiji in early June but some White Lotus fans fear this means the worst for the season four of the show.
'Welp White Lotus will be back in 4 years,' X user Eli wrote.
'We never getting white lotus s4,' thecprincess added.
'What about s4 of white lotus,' Niki asked.
'Don't you have a 4th season of the white lotus to be writing and directing,' gingy echoed.
'Writers will do literally anything to procrastinate when they're on deadline,' Tom Smyth agreed.
Others, however, are already seeing the vision.
'Iconic tbh couldn't be more excited he was genuinely so much fun to watch on his season,' Lauren Leti reflected.
'The way he lives his life fascinates me. love you Mike White!!!!,' kevyoh echoed.
'Mike White's method writing is commendable,' whalienboi wrote.
'Oh I just know he will be farming for great arcs for the next The White Lotus season. Real Mike White fans know there would be no White Lotus without Survivor,' halimertugrul shared.
'He clearly needs some inspiration for White Lotus season 4,' Euanmcgrath agreed.
'He's going to win because he can just offer people jobs on the white lotus if they agree to work with him,' sarahjenkinsxo posed as a theory.
'The way he's gonna glide his way to the final three just because he bribes everyone with a cameo on The White Lotus,' _iamaliyah_ agreed.
Executive producer and host Jeff Probst told CBS Mornings just how keen the Emmy-winning creator was ready to fight for his (metaphorical) life again.
He said: 'Mike, after he finished playing, said, 'I want to play again,' When White Lotus hit, and I thought, 'Well, he'll never play again.'
'But he kept texting and saying, 'Look, I'm serious. If you ever do anything where you have returning players, I want to play again.' So we're happy to have Mike.'
The reality series enthusiast has long been a fan of Survivor and, aptly, has used it as a study of the human psyche – something that has no doubt filtered down into the shows he creates.
What's more, he has even recruited former Survivor contestants for cameos on the White Lotus including Angela Keeley and Kara Kay in season two.
And in season three, Natalie Cole, Carl Boudreaux and Christian Hubicki, rock up as guests on the Thailand resort.
In an interview with The New Yorker in 2021 the former Amazing Race contestant spoke about how Survivor is the only show he 'devotedly watches'.
The School of Rock star added: 'Part of my job and my way of life is studying people and analysing motivation and character.
'I still feel like, even on the most contrived reality show, the people are human and they're more interesting than some of the most well-scripted drama. More Trending
'And for me, as a writer of drama, I aspire to do what reality television already does. To create characters that are surprising and dimensional and do weird shit and capture your attention.'
After an intense culling process (cut down from 200 names, according to Jeff) there are a total of 23 cast members joining Mike on the island.
This includes season one's Jenna Lewis-Dougherty, season 10's Stephenie Lagrossa Kendrick, season 18's Benjamin 'Coach' Wade, season 12's Cirie Fields, season 13's Ozzy Lusth, and season 32's Aubry Bracco, season two's Colby Donaldson and Season 46's Q.

Netflix 'nightmare' body-swap film with 'unforgivable' twist

It's What's Inside is a sci-fi horror that was released straight to streaming service Netflix in 2024 and has been causing quite a stir among fans of the genre This horror film has been making a splash in the genre, earning rave reviews from movie buffs on Rotten Tomatoes, despite it being the director's debut feature. It's What's Inside is an independent sci-fi horror penned and directed by Greg Jardin, starring a cast of up-and-coming actors, including Brittany O'Grady, best known for her role as Paula in The White Lotus. She forms part of an ensemble cast portraying a group of friends whose lives take a bizarre turn. ‌ One captivated viewer hailed the film as "absolute cinema." ‌ They wrote: "Truly a work of art. Anxiously waiting for another dose of this." The 2024 horror flick is peppered with dark humour as it delves into the dynamics among a group of old university mates reuniting for a wedding. The plot thickens when Forbes, played by David W Thompson, brings along a suitcase containing a peculiar device, reports the Mirror US. This enigmatic gadget allows them all to switch bodies, sparking off an exhilarating game. They decide to liven things up by guessing who is in whose body, but the fun quickly spirals out of control, leading to a stark division within the group. A viewer commented: "An EXTREMELY original take on the body swap trope. This has cult classic potential. The plot is original and engaging. The execution and cinematography are exactly what's needed. The acting is robust but fell slightly short of making this an easy five-star rating. I'd suggest this to anyone in the mood for a body-swap film with a few dark twists. It might even be something I revisit in the future." However, one aspect that many viewers agreed upon was the "big twist" at the end, or as some are referring to it, the "unforgivable" ending. One viewer said: "Don't completely love the ending unless there's a sequel on the horizon soon." Elaborating further, another somewhat disappointed viewer remarked: "The film is generally quite brilliant. A fantastic drama with a rather unique approach to body-swap films. But it has the worst ending I have ever seen in a film. Cut off just at the climax." The film was launched just last year in 2024 after its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and went directly onto the streaming platform. It garnered mostly positive reviews, with an overall score of 79% on the review platform Rotten Tomatoes, and many fans are eagerly awaiting a sequel following its shocking twist. If you're intrigued by less than two hours of dark humour and sci-fi frights, It's What's Inside is available to stream now on Netflix.

Ralph Fiennes warns new Voldemort in Harry Potter TV series of danger

After playing the role of Voldemort for five films between 2005 and 2011, Ralph Fiennes is bound to have some valuable advice for whoever plays the 'Dark Lord' in the upcoming Harry Potter TV adaptation. Fresh off of the success of Conclave, the three-time Oscar-nominated actor is receiving high praise for his latest film 28 Years Later. But it is his previous turn as He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named in the film adaptations of JK Rowling's book series that is drawing particular attention. So far, HBO's TV reboot of Harry Potter has confirmed some of the biggest names in Hollywood – including the likes of John Lithgow, Paapa Essiedu, Janet McTeer, and Nick Frost. Meanwhile, newcomers Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout will be playing Harry, Hermione, and Ron, respectively. But while the role of Voldemort has not yet been cast, Fiennes still has some words of wisdom for whoever chooses to play him. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 62-year-old said: 'Make sure you can handle the long, flowing robes, and don't trip over them. Practice your long, flowing robe walk.' Fiennes went on to explain how his tights, which were one piece that had a gusset, 'kept getting lower and lower throughout the shooting day and became uncomfortable'. He then said he requested 'individual tights like a garter belt' so that he could tease the stunt guys 'by lifting up my robes and showing them my garter belt'. Our TV reporter Milo Pope shares his thoughts on some of the names rumoured for the part of Voldemort… It has now been two years since HBO announced it was rebooting Harry Potter in the form of a TV series, but the wave of public opinion against it in the wake of JK Rowling's offensive comments on trans people has not weakened in the slightest. The decision is clear for any actor who decides to take part – you are going to receive backlash. Even the most loyal Harry Potter fans in the world are revealing that they are going to boycott this series. It's inescapabale. For that reason alone, to take such a high-profile role such as Voldemort, it is a poisoned chalice. But beyond that, to try and fill the shoes of Ralph Fiennes who was iconic as He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, it becomes an even more difficult task. If HBO manage to land two high-calibre actors such as Cillian Murphy or Tom Hiddleston, it could massively help the PR behind the show. But in my mind, I'm not sure either of those are willing to risk their name. Fiennes played Voldemort for five Harry Potter films, making his debut in 2005's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The actor went on to play the villain for the rest of the film series, which ended in 2011 with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Fiennes was previously asked to address speculation over whether Cillian Murphy would take over the role during an interview on Watch What Happens Live. He said: 'Cillian is a fantastic actor. That's a wonderful suggestion. I would be all in favor of Cillian. Yeah.' More Trending Despite his blessing, British actor Tom Hiddleston is said to be the leading contender for the spot. This comes after fans recently spotted a major problem following the casting of Bel Powley and Daniel Rigby who are playing Harry's aunt and uncle, Petunia and Vernon Dursley. A number of people online thought that the pair were too young to play the Harry's last living relatives. Got a story? Bay City Rollers star reveals ‘harrowing' sex abuse by band's ‘bully, predator' manager who ‘plied stars with drugs'

STUART 'Woody' Wood told how he hid the trauma of his abuse by paedo manager Tam Paton for 50 years, saying: 'I chose not to let it shape my life.' The Bay City Rollers icon, 68, said he was determined not to let the sicko 'win' as he opened up for the first time about how he too was a victim of the beast. 4 4 4 4 Burly Paton bossed the band during the height of their 70s fame, when they had No1 hits including Saturday Night, Bye Bye Baby and Shang-A-Lang. He was later fired by the group before being jailed for three years in 1982 for gross indecency with teenage boys. In his autobiography Mania, released on Thursday, former pop-pin up Stuart brands the late fiend a 'true monster' and explains why he kept his own suffering a secret for five decades. Stuart wrote: 'I met Tam when I was 16 years old. He was intimidating and a bully, and all the disgusting things said about him are accurate. 'He was a predator. He abused me as he did others. 'It was a horrific and harrowing time. The drugs he plied us with were part of that control. I met Tam when I was 16 years old. He was intimidating and a bully, and all the disgusting things said about him are accurate 'My take is that to have a healthy mind, you have to let some things go, as much as it might pain you to do so. 'So, when Tam's squalid little life came to an end in 2009, I stopped thinking about him. 'He was a terrible human being, but the way I see it, he doesn't get to define me. 'Tam f******g Paton doesn't get to win.' Original lead singer of The Bay City Rollers returns 50 years after fall out In 2003, Paton was accused of attempting to rape Rollers guitarist Pat McGlynn in a hotel room in 1977. Police investigated but concluded there was insufficient evidence to take it to court. Depraved Paton claimed he was being targeted because he was gay. After the flabby perv's death from a heart attack in 2019 singer Les McKeown claimed the former manager had also raped him while on tour in America after drugging him. Les — who died at 65 in 2021 — said: 'I was given Quaaludes, a drug for lowering your inhibitions and making you horny. 'Afterwards I felt really used and abused. I never told anybody about it, not even the other guys in the band, because I was ashamed.' Original Rollers singer Nobby Clarke has also claimed the boys were encouraged by Paton to sleep with radio DJ Chris Denning, who jailed for child sex abuse in 2016. Meanwhile, founder Alan Longmuir revealed in 2018 how Paton had 'friends in low places' and warned 'his depravity ran deeper than we know.' However, Stuart maintains he did not talk about Paton's abuse with either Les or Alan, even when they reformed the Rollers together 10 years ago. Speaking from his home in Edinburgh, the songwriter, guitarist and producer said: 'We never discussed it - any of us - it just happened. 'We were all survivors, but with Les it felt like it hit him harder. 'It's not like I locked all those experiences away, stuffed down the bad memories, pretending they didn't happen. 'I just choose to not let them shape my life.' Stuart is now the last member of the 'classic' Rollers line-up still performing, with a new single Rollers Forever released next month. A musical of the same name opens at Glasgow's Pavilion Theatre in August. However, the star describes his relationship with Paton as 'complicated' as he even invited his abuser to his wedding to artist Denise in 1997. He added: 'There's an old expression, 'Keep your enemies close'. "I think that was the case with Tam. There was another side of Tam that was funny. 'He could be a lovable rogue.'
