Rihanna, Sabrina Carpenter, Jack Black Provide Best Moments at 2025 Kids' Choice Awards

My main takeaway from the 2025 Kids' Choice Awards is that kids like pretty much the same musical artists as everybody else. Sabrina Carpenter won favorite album for Short n' Sweet, just as she had won the Grammy for best pop vocal album in February. SZA and Bruno Mars won favorite female and male artist, respectively. Carpenter and Benson Boone won favorite female and male breakout artist, respectively. These four artists could have been winners on just about any show. (The song's namesake, Luther Vandross, died in 2005, long before most of the current Kids' Choice Awards audience was even born.) Wicked, which set a new record as the top-grossing film adapted from a Broadway musical, won for favorite movie. Ariana Grande won favorite movie actress for playing Glinda in that blockbuster film and also took favorite song from a movie as a featured artist on Cynthia Erivo's 'Defying Gravity.' Other music winners included Stray Kids (favorite music group), Tyla (favorite global music star) and Selena Gomez and benny blanco (favorite viral song for 'Bluest Flame'). While slime, and lots of it, is the clearly main attraction on this show, several of the winners snuck inspiring and important messages into their acceptance speeches. Here are five of the best moments from the 2025 Kids' Choice accepted an Icon Award by video and delivered an inspiring message for her young fans. 'I just want to take this moment to remind all of you that wherever you are right now is significant and crucial to where you are about to go. Own your space in this world and know that you are chosen for greatness.' benny blanco made a similar point when he accepted (in-person) favorite viral song for 'Bluest Flame,' a collab with his girlfriend, Selena Gomez (who wasn't present). Wearing an Aerosmith T-shirt, he said, 'I've always wanted one of these since I was a kid and I just want to tell you guys 'Dream anything you can, as big as you can because … you guys can do anything you want.'' Sabrina Carpenter picked up three awards — favorite album for Short n' Sweet, favorite female breakout artist and favorite song for 'Taste.' 'I've always wanted one of these ever since I was a little girl,' she said. 'This is so special to me. I just can't thank each and every one of you enough for voting. I will continue to make these clean versions of these songs for you, and I'm so grateful that you're listening.' Auli'i Caravalho accepted the award for favorite female animated voice from a movie for Moana 2, capping her speech by saying, 'Our first film taught us the importance of righting the imbalance between man and nature and the second film tells us how important it is to welcome people from faraway shores.' In the past, that latter comment would have seemed unremarkable, but in these highly-charged times it seemed to be touching on a hot-button issue. It came at the end of his acceptance speech for the King of Comedy Award, where he was inevitably slimed, yet he said, 'Are you kidding me? I didn't see that coming. You got me.' A trouper, he stayed in position for a second sliming after they presented his second award of the night, favorite movie actor for A Minecraft Movie. The King of Comedy award was presented by Black's Nacho Libre co-stars Ana de la Reguera and Héctor Jiménez, who, Black noted, came from Mexico to present the award. 'Viva Mexico,' Black said, another comment that would have seemed innocuous not so long ago but suddenly seemed highly topical. There were two musical performances: 'cliché,' by mgk, from his upcoming seventh studio album, Lost Americana, and 'Gnarly,' by KATSEYE, from their upcoming second EP, Beautiful Chaos. Both performances culminated in slimings. mgk (wearing a Lost Americana T-shirt) was introduced by his daughter, Casie Baker. KATSEYE was introduced by Ice Spice. Every item on this page was chosen by an ELLE editor. We may earn commission on some of the items you choose to buy. The Gilded Age is back for its third season. Julian Fellowes's glittering HBO period drama continues to chronicle the power struggles between old money and nouveau riche in 1880s New York—this time, with fractured marriages, clashing elites, and the slow unraveling of the city's social code. After a second season that saw the Russells win the Opera War and the Brook-Van Rhijn household undergo a financial upheaval, season 3 picks up with both families adjusting to new dynamics—and new stakes. Series regulars Christine Baranski, Cynthia Nixon, Louisa Jacobson, Denée Benton, Taissa Farmiga, Morgan Spector, and Carrie Coon return, alongside some new arrivals played by Phylicia Rashad, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Andrea Martin. The wardrobe of Coon's character, Bertha Russell, continues to be one of the show's visual centerpieces—and for the actress, it's also the key to unlocking her performance. 'Once you put that stuff on, you're 75 percent of the way there,' she told Collider. 'You understand the space you have to fill; the costumes are part of filling that space.' From architectural ball gowns to corseted power suits, the looks are extensions of Bertha's ambition. The new season premieres Sunday night, June 22, at 9 P.M. ET on HBO. Here's how to keep up with the rest of the episodes. The new season includes eight episodes total, debuting weekly from June 22 through August 10. Episodes premiere on HBO and stream on Max each Sunday at 9 P.M. ET/6 P.M. PT. Check out the full schedule below. Watch The Gilded Age on Max

Johnny Depp makes rare comments about raising his kids Lily-Rose and Jack with ex Vanessa Paradis

Johnny Depp is proud to be a family man. The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor, 62, looked back on raising his two kids, Lily-Rose, 26, and Jack, 22, with ex Vanessa Paradis in France in a new interview with The Sunday Times. 'This is a portrait of my daughter, Lily-Rose,' Depp, 62, told the interviewer about the painting hanging behind him. Advertisement 11 Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis at the 2009 Academy Awards. Lily-Rose is an actress best known for her roles in 'The Idol' and 'Nosferatu,' while Jack lives his life out of the spotlight as a bartender in Paris. The former couple, who dated from 1998 to 2012, raised their kids in an estate near St. Tropez before they later moved to Los Angeles. 'I cannot tell you how much I loved being Papa. Then, suddenly, Papa was out the window. I was Dad. But Papa was awesome and I'm getting old enough for Papa to possibly come back. Some motherf—er's going to have to call me Papa!' Advertisement 11 Johnny Depp with Vanessa Paradis at the 2006 Golden Globe Awards. Getty Images Depp also explained that he barely spends time in the US anymore and mostly splits his time between the UK and the Bahamas. 'Truly, the first time I felt I had a home was the place in the south of France where Vanessa and I raised the kiddies,' he told the outlet. 'That's the only place that ever felt like home.' 11 Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis at the 'Sleepy Hollow' premiere in 1999. Getty Images Elsewhere in the interview, Depp made rare comments about his relationship with his ex-wife Amber Heard, three years after their televised defamation trial that culminated with the jury siding with Depp on June 1, 2022. 'So, what were my initial dealings with what we call love? Clearly obtuse,' he said to The Sunday Times. 11 Johnny Depp and Amber Heard at 'The Rum Diary' premiere in London in 2011. UK Press via Getty Images 'And what that means is, if you're a sucker like I am, sometimes you look in a person's eye and see some sadness, some lonely thing and you feel you can help that person,' the 'Sweeney Todd' star continued. It manifests itself in other ways,' Depp added. 'And the interesting thing is that it is merely a sliver of my life I have chosen to explore.' The jury ultimately awarded Depp $10.35 million in damages, while Heard won $2 million in her countersuit. The 'Aquaman' star filed to appeal the verdict in the case, but she later withdrew and then settled. She agreed to pay Depp $1 million. 11 Amber Heard and Johnny Depp attend The Art of Elysium 2016 HEAVEN Gala presented by Vivienne Westwood. Everyone was saying, 'It'll go away!' But I can't trust that. What will go away? The fiction pawned around the f—ing globe? No, it won't.' Advertisement 'If I don't try to represent the truth it will be like I've actually committed the acts I am accused of, and my kids will have to live with it,' he continued. Depp added, 'So the night before the trial in Virginia I didn't feel nervous. If you don't have to memorize lines, if you're just speaking the truth? Roll the dice.'
