Yildiz double powers Juventus to 4-1 victory over Wydad Casablanca
PHILADELPHIA, June 22 (Reuters) - Kenan Yildiz struck twice and played a key role in an own goal as Juventus secured a 4-1 win over Morocco's Wydad Casablanca in the Club World Cup on Sunday.
The Italian side top Group G with six points after two matches, three clear of Manchester City, who play UAE's Al Ain later on Sunday. Both Al Ain and Wydad have no points.
Juventus started brightly at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field, taking the lead in the sixth minute. Yildiz was instrumental in the opener as his angled shot forced Wydad defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil to turn the ball into his own net in his attempt to block it.
Ten minutes later, Yildiz unleashed a spectacular strike from the edge of the box into the top-right corner to give Juventus a 2-0 lead, but a mistake by the Italian defence gifted Thembinkosi Lorch a goal to reduce the deficit in the 25th minute.
Juve, however, extended their lead again through Yildiz's brilliance, with the 20-year-old Turkish forward scoring their third goal from close-range in the 69th minute, with substitute Dusan Vlahovic wrapping up their commanding win from the penalty spot deep in added time.

The second half was a nightmare for her, as Clark shot 5-for-11 from the field and 0-for-5 from 3-point range while turning the ball over six times and putting up a -12 defensive rating. Portnoy continued: 'When she's off it's really hard for them to win. Turnovers. Bad shooting. The works. Lone bright spot. Aliyah [Boston] was great. Gotta bounce back.' Boston led the Fever with 26 points and ten rebounds. Aces star A'ja Wilson also struggled on the day, despite leading Las Vegas with 24 points. She shot 8-of-21 from the field. But she also had the benefit of some strong performances from Jackie Young (19 points, seven rebounds, seven assists) and Chelsea Gray (18 points on 66 percent shooting). Indiana is now 6-7 on the season. They next travel to the Pacific Northwest to play the Seattle Storm on Tuesday.

June 22 (Reuters) - The second leg of the Serie B relegation playoff between hosts Salernitana and Sampdoria was abandoned on Sunday after home fans threw smoke bombs and seats onto the pitch. Sampdoria were leading 2-0 when the match was initially postponed in the 65th minute as Salernitana fans hurled objects onto the pitch. Play briefly resumed but was ultimately abandoned amid chaotic scenes at the Stadio Arechi. According to Italian media, Sampdoria are likely to be awarded a 3-0 win, which would secure a 5-0 aggregate victory and guarantee their escape from what had seemed certain relegation to the third tier. SOPHIE INGLE says her battle back to fitness from a knee injury ahead Wales' Euros debut has been "tough but worthwhile". And the former Chelsea star has urged her team-mates to give it all they have got against the Netherlands, France and England in the contest's group stage. 5 5 5 5 The midfielder, 33, was sharing her thoughts at Cardiff Airport shortly before jetting off to Portugal with her Wales pals for their pre-Euros camp. The team will spend this week doing warm weather training as part of their prep for potentially humid conditions in Switzerland the host nation for this year's contest. Last Friday the ex- Chelsea star was named in Rhian Wilkinson's squad for the tournament, with the Wales boss announcing her 23-strong group from the summit of Yr Wyddfa, also known as Snowdon. Ingle's inclusion follows her recovery from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament sustained last September. The five-time WSL title winner suffered her injury during the Blues' pre-season clash with Dutch side Feyenoord.
