Jennifer Hudson's Eddie Murphy Interview Goes Viral
On Thursday, Eddie Murphy revealed that his son Eric had secretly married Martin Lawrence's daughter Jasmin after four years of dating.
For reference, Eddie and Martin are good friends and even starred in two movies together back in the '90s, but Jasmin previously said that she didn't meet her now-husband through their famous fathers.
She told InTouch Weekly back in 2022: 'My uncle actually introduced us — it wasn't even our dads, and they've done two movies together. They're friends. I don't even know, it's crazy, but we met through my uncle, and, you know, we became really good friends." 'Obviously, we have similar backgrounds, so we understood each other on a certain level, and, over time, it just became more,' she added at the time.
The two got engaged in November 2024, and during his recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Eddie revealed that the lovebirds had blindsided them all by sneaking off to get married in private.
However, host Jennifer Hudson has ended up going viral for her reaction to the news, with the star being heavily criticized for seemingly not listening to her guest during the interview. Alluding to Eddie's talent as a singer, Jennifer started off by asking: 'Are you going to sing at your son's… Or is it your daughter's wedding, right?'
Clarifying that it was, in fact, his son, Eddie replied: 'Actually, they got married, like, two weeks ago. They went off. Everybody was making the big wedding plans, then they decided they wanted to do something quiet, just the two of them, and they got married.'
Referencing Martin, he joked: 'He don't have to pay for the big wedding now!' But Jennifer didn't appear to pay any attention, saying in response: 'Uh oh! Did you sing at the wedding, Eddie?'
'No, they didn't have a wedding!' Eddie explained again, to which Jennifer replied: 'Oh no?''No, they went off and got married in the church; they just had the two of them and the preacher. They had a quiet little thing,' Eddie repeated, before adding: 'I think we'll have a big party or something, they ran off and got married.''OK,' Jennifer said. 'Will you sing then?''Will I sing at the wedding?! No!' Eddie then exclaimed.
JHud has not publicly reacted to her interview going viral, but be sure to let me know what you think in the comments below!

The production then moved to Brisbane, Queensland, for additional filming. Considering typical post-production timelines for Prime Video series, which often take 6–12 months, Deadloch Season 2 is likely to premiere in mid-to-late 2025. Deadloch Season 2 Expected Cast Deadloch Season 2 will see the return of its beloved core cast. Here's a breakdown: Kate Box as Dulcie Collins : The fastidious Senior Sergeant turned detective, known for her methodical approach. According to the official synopsis, Season 2 follows Dulcie and Eddie as they probe Bushy's mysterious death. Their investigation takes a turn when the body of a 'Top End icon' is discovered in a remote town, plunging them into a 'sweaty and sticky' new mystery set in 'croc country.' The six-episode season promises to retain the show's signature blend of dark humor, high-stakes drama, and feminist commentary, while introducing new challenges in the Northern Territory's unique landscape. "Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." On Father's Day, Jennifer Garner took a moment to reflect on the dads in her life. Her own father passed away last year, and the holiday was sure to be a bittersweet one for the 53-year-old actress. Jennifer shared a video of her walking alongside her dad on their farm wearing matching overalls. She wrote, "Being fathered by someone who loves being a dad is a gift; my sisters and I know this love and (lucky for us) all of our kids do, too. Happy Father's Day to the Dads, no matter where you are. To the uncles and grandfathers and father figures, too. We love you." View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jennifer Garner (@ Jennifer also took the opportunity to send her well-wishes to her ex-husband Ben Affleck, with whom she shares her children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel. She shared a throwback photo of one of the babies sleeping on Ben's chest with the message, "Happy Father's Day to 3 people's favorite landing spot." The two finalized their divorce in 2018 after separating three years earlier, but they have remained close and co-parent their teenage children, and they're often seen together at family outings. And it's clear the respect goes both ways. Ben paid a special visit to Jennifer on Mother's Day, and in March, he told GQ, 'I'm really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner, the kids' mom, who's wonderful and great and we work together well.' Recent paparazzi photos have sparked rumors of a rekindled romance, but Jennifer seems to be going strong with her longtime boyfriend, John Miller.
