Here's when Samsung's XR headset is rumored to launch
Samsung's first XR headset, currently codenamed Project Moohan, has already been showcased by the company a bunch of times, but it's still not fully official. A new report out of Korea claims the company has now set a date for its unveiling: September 29.
Then, it will become available for purchase on October 13, in Korea first. After the domestic market launch, it will gradually start to make its way to other places.
This will be the first headset to use Android XR, which, as the name implies, is a version of Android made specifically for such headsets. Android XR itself was initially announced last year and is jointly developed by Google and Samsung, following their co-development success with the last few versions of Wear OS.
You won't be surprised to find out that Android XR will include Google's Gemini AI. The Samsung headset is using Qualcomm's XR+ Gen 2 chipset, which is apparently manufactured by Samsung using a 4nm process.
Before its full unveiling, the Samsung XR headset will be showcased once again at the company's Unpacked event next month, where it will announce the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7.

MediaTek announces the Dimensity 8450 with minor improvements
MediaTek announced the new Dimensity 8450, a direct successor to the Dimensity 8400 released back in December 2024. As the name implies, the upgrades are minimal, and the company introduced mostly under-the-hood changes. Interestingly, there's already a phone running the silicon - the Oppo Reno14 Pro. The Dimensity 8450 is still based on TSMC's second-generation 4nm node with an octa-core CPU with 1x Cortex-X4 core ticking at 3.25 GHz, 3x Cortex-A720 cores running at 3.0 GHz and 4x Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 2.1 GHz. The GPU is Mali-G720 MC7 with 7 cores and it's clocked at 1300 MHz. If it sounds familiar, that's because the Dimensity 8400 runs on the same exact hardware. However, the newer chipset boasts gaming and ISP optimizations. The GPU, for instance, now uses the StarSpeed Engine, improving real-world gaming, while the improved ISP has live-stream optimizations. The ISP is capable of handling 320MP sensors with zero-lag HDR imaging. The NPU 880 receives some love too with Agentic AI Engine that allows support for on-device GenAI and LLM workloads. Lastly, the Dimensity 8450's 5G modem gets a new power-saving feature, UltraSave 3.0+, to reduce energy consumption. There is a very good reason why you should hold off buying the iPhone 17 Air for a couple of years
It sounds unbelievable, but the unveiling of the new iPhone 17 series is only about two and a half months away. The spotlight will be on the rumored new ultra-thin iPhone model that has been dubbed the iPhone 17 Air. This model reportedly will be powered by the A19 application processor (AP), not the A19 Pro AP. It also will supposedly feature 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM which is just enough to allow the phone to support Apple Intelligence. The iPhone 17 Air could be as thin as 5.5mm which would make it the thinnest iPhone ever shipped taking the title from the iPhone 6 (6.9mm). It would even be thinner than last year's M4-powered iPad Air. Both the 11-inch and 13-inch variants weigh in at 6.1mm thin. The iPhone 17 Air will also challenge the 11-inch M4-powered iPad Pro which is 5.3mm thin. Being so thin, we expect the iPhone 17 Air to be a little shortchanged in the battery department since the device has limited internal space for a larger battery to fit. So those looking to purchase the iPhone 17 Air this year do have to consider the possibility that their iPhone 17 Air units will be handicapped as far as battery life is concerned. In fact, a new report out of Korea suggests that those thinking about purchasing the iPhone 17 Air this year should try to hold off until 2027's iPhone 19 Air. The report says that Apple is looking to add a new low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) organic light-emitting diode (OLED) to the iPhone 19 series expected to be released in 2027. What this could do is reduce the battery munching ways of the display. Apple hasn't decided yet whether to use this new technology. This decision will be made during this year's third quarter and most analysts expect Apple to use the technology on the iPhone 19 Air. According to Nothing, the Phone (3) will be the best product the company has ever put out. The flagship has been designed taking into account all the feedback from fans, as well as all the knowledge Nothing has in regard to phone development. Nothing has started hyping up its Phone (3) several weeks ago and even revealed the device will cost around £800. People had high expectations considering all the teasers Nothing dropped recently, so we can only imagine how big the disappointment was when the UK-based brand confirmed the Phone (3) will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 instead of the chipmaker's flagship product, the Snapdragon 8 that seems to be the only major downside of Nothing's flagship. The previous picture that was circulated online wasn't accurate at all, but this one seems even stranger. The arrangement of the camera sensors is not as symmetric as it should. Granted, none of Nothing's phones inspire symmetry, it would have been nice for the company's flagship to bring something new in terms of design. Nothing Phone (3) is expected to be officially introduced on July 1.
