Crowds are expected in downtown Indy on June 14. How to find parking, avoid road closures, more
Saturday is going to be a busy one in downtown Indianapolis. Pride events are happening at Monument Circle, on Mass Ave., the American Legion Mall and a protest is scheduled at the Indiana Statehouse. Then there's the Fever game.
Here's a little of what's happening Saturday, what you should know about navigating traffic, where to park and road closures.
When: 10 a.m. – Noon, June 14.
Where: The parade begins at 748 Massachusetts Ave. and travels southwest along Mass Ave., then turns north on Delaware Avenue, finishing at Michigan Street.
Roads closures: Per the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the following roads will be closed Saturday, June 14:
When: Noon to 5 p.m., June 14-15
Where: Monument Circle
What: Indy Pride is hosting part of its annual festivities in the heart of downtown Indy with Celebration on the Circle. The event will include local art and food vendors, a community zone with local organizations and drag performances.
Road closures: Monument Circle will be closed to vehicles from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., June 14-15.

When: Noon-3 p.m., June 14
Where: Indiana Statehouse, 200 W Washington St.
What: Organizers have called the "No Kings" protest a "day of defiance" in response to President Donald Trump's military parade. Upwards of 30 such protests are planned across Indiana on Saturday.
When: 2-10 p.m., June 14-15.
Where: The American Legion Mall, 700 N. Pennsylvania St,
What: The Word of Mouth concert series is part of this year's Pride celebrations. Musical artists scheduled to perform Saturday include British singer-songwriter Natasha Bedingfield ("Unwritten"), Coco & Breezy and Aluna. Sunday features Tinashe, Big Wild and Snow Wife.

As of Friday, Caitlin Clark was cleared to play in the Fever's against the New York Liberty on Saturday. The game is at 3 p.m. at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Beginning at 5 a.m. Saturday, June 14, I-65 southbound will be closed through June 16 as part of the first in a series of weekend closures. Traffic can be detoured using I-465 and I-70.

After his publicity stunt, Lander was greeted like a conquering hero by lefty loonies including Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and absentee Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, who posted a photo of himself hugging the candidate and touting his 'courage.' Do these people know that we can't even buy toothpaste in this city without buzzing a worker to unlock it? But hey, they got their photo op. 6 As he was facing questions about his use of the phrase 'Globalize the Intifada,' mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani cried while telling reporters about the Islamophobia he's faced. Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham made a winking reference on Friday to an on-court skirmish that involved her slamming an opposing player to the ground. Tuesday's brawl at the Fever and Connecticut Sun game stemmed from Sun guard Jacy Sheldon becoming physical with Cunningham's teammate Caitlin Clark during a play and poking her in the eye. Renfrew Pride celebrates with a race and a community picnic in downtown Renfrew
Renfrew – Last Saturday's Renfrew Pride Picnic in Low Square was certainly the most colourful and diverse event held so far this year with non-stop singing and dancing throughout the day. The event, sponsored by Renfrew Pride and pflagRenfrew County, attracted visitors from Pembroke, Arnprior, Ottawa and Quebec who enjoyed music, artistic performances and a barbeque lunch. In celebration of Pride month, two events were held and organized by members of the local LGBTQ2S+ community. Renfrew hosted its second annual Colour Run that started from Ma-te-Way Park at 10:30 a.m. with runners, walkers and a couple of cyclists heading out on a 3.5 km trek along the Millennium Trail, Lisgar Avenue and the Algonquin Trail to the finish line on Railway Avenue and Low Square. When the first of 10 booths/display tents opened at 11 a.m. there were several curious visitors and residents who found a spot and enjoyed the beautiful sunny skies along with musical performers. Some were treated to a special reading by Pembroke resident and drag queen Toxxic Waist. The bombastic artist, along with her special friend, Minnie Mouse of Disney fame, read stories to both children and adults and encouraged members of the audience to join them when they sang songs. Among the displays were information booths with literature and pamphlets explaining the importance of the day, handmade jewelry and crafts, and food tents. Volunteers were kept busy handing out free hot dogs and hamburgers to more than 150 people throughout the day. When she wasn't busy entertaining the crowd, Toxxic Waist took a moment to reflect on the symbolism and importance of Pride Month (June) and the rare chance for members of her community to be among those who accept them as they are. 'Events like the Colour Run and this picnic are held not only to celebrate the amazing diversity of our community, but it allows people to come and meet us and get to know us and hopefully educate them on our lives and how we just want to live our lives in a safe, welcoming environment,' she said. 'We want people, especially young people, to understand it's okay to be different and it's okay to be yourself. And, of course, we want to have fun.' Error!
