LBC presenter stuns listeners as they're caught swearing at caller while live on air

Daily Mirror29-04-2025

LBC radio presenter Shelagh Fogarty shocked her listeners this afternoon when she was caught swearing under her breath while taking part in a call-in session on air
A presenter on LBC radio was caught swearing under their breath while taking a call with a listener. Radio fans where shocked when Shelagh Fogarty made the remark during this afternoon's show.
The presenter and journalist hosts the 1-4pm weekday slot on the channel and often takes calls from viewers as they discuss the day's talking points. However, Shelagh stunned her listeners this afternoon as she muttered a swear word under her breath.

A listener shared their shock as they posted: "Just heard Shelagh Fogarty on @LBC mutter the words 'F***ing hell' under her breath.

"She obviously really didn't agree with the caller but still." It wasn't the only listener to have heard as someone added: "Same."
"Had my buds in, was really clear Of all the things to swear about, very telling," another added. A listener agreed as they wrote: "Yup. She did!" Another quipped: "Heard it too lol."
It's not the first time LBC fans have been taken aback by antics live on air. Earlier this year, an American journalist was booted off the channel.
It came after he supported Donald Trump' s ludicrous claim that diversity hiring was to blame for a tragic plane crash in the US. Iain Dale branded Kurt Schlichter a "numbskull" and ordered for him to be taken off air after the columnist, who is also a trial lawyer and a retired Army infantry colonel, ranted about the unevidenced theory.
The radio presenter said he "never" wanted to talk to the American again and said he was the sort of person that makes the US look "ridiculous" on the world stage.

The pair later publicly argued on social media platform Twitter /X, where Dale called Schlichter an "obnoxious, rude, offensive" bigot.
Speaking on LBC radio, Schlichter hit out at diversity programmes as being a tick-box exercise. He said: "When you choose people because you're checking blocks, whether colour or sex or, for God's sake, severe psychological disability, you're going to get losers."
After being repeatedly grilled, he at one point was forced to admit there was no evidence that the pilots or anyone at the airport control tower was from a diverse background. Yet he still continued to support Mr Trump's theories.

Dale told him: "Do you think it's appropriate for the President of the United States, within 24 hours, when you have 67 families grieving - is it really appropriate to indulge in this unevidenced speculation, when, surely what he should be doing is encouraging the flight investigators to get to the truth?"
A furious Dale later cut him off and started calling to a staff member off-screen: "Can you get this numbskull off our programme please. I never want to speak to him again. He is the kind of person that makes America look ridiculous on the world stage."
The Mirror has approached LBC for comment.

Love Island fans 'work out' brutal recoupling twist after dramatic cliffhanger

Love Island fans are convinced the Islanders will be shocked by a brutal twist following a shock recoupling announcement at the end of Sunday night's episode of the dating show Love Island fans were surprised as they received a text announcing there would be a recoupling in the villa - with the power in the girls' hands. Confused fans thought the timing was "random" - and they're now convinced there's a huge twist to come. At the moment, there's an even number of girls and boys after Malisha was dumped. It came after single girls Toni and Malisha went on a date with new bombshell Harrison. He chose to bring Toni back, and the two coupled up. Everyone is now coupled up, and therefore there won't be any left single after tomorrow night's reshuffling. ‌ Although there may not be a dumping straight after the re shuffle - fans think one may be following straight after. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter to discuss, fans are convinced viewers will finally be getting their say - with a public vote after. ‌ "They're recoupling then we vote for least compatible #LoveIsland," said one fan, as another penned: "It shouldn't have ended on a cliffhanger but probably means the aftermath of recoupling is chaos #LoveIsland," said a third, as another said: "I bet there would a recoupling and public vote." A fourth later agreed: "Noooo, that recoupling is going to be juicy #loveisland." The shock recoupling came after a dramatic day in the Love Island villa. Once again, it was the games that brought all the drama, as the Islanders played a brutal game of spin the bottle. The Islanders were swapping partners left, right, and centre as they were given a series of difficult questions to answer. ‌ Helena ruffled feathers when she landed on a dare and Dejon dared her to kiss the person that she'd chose to recouple with, leading to her kissing new bombshell Harrison. She was later left shocked when Shea was told to issue a one-word comment to each of his fellow Islanders. When he got to Helena, Shea called her a "mug," although Helena saw the funny side of it. "I think every given opportunity Harry has mugged me off left, right and centre," she said. Later, Megan pulled a truth card, and Harry asked her how she really felt about Conor. Megan is currently happily coupled up with Tommy. However, in a shock twist on Friday night, Conor, who is coupled up with Emily, revealed he fancies Megan. Megan revealed the two had "unfinished business" from the start. Will Conor and Megan go any further?

Love Island fans accuse Helena of hiding true motives as her 'insecurity' shows

Love Island's Helena has been slammed online by fans as 'insecure' as they 'work out' her real game plan and say her 'main personality trait' is putting 'other girls down' Love Island's Helena has been slammed by fans after the latest instalment of the reality show, as fans claim they have worked out her game plan and said her 'main personality trait' is putting 'other girls down', following a chat with the latest Bombshell, Harrison. Helena, 29, was getting to know Harry, 30, however, their relationship came tumbling down after he kissed Yasmin three times in the hideaway and then lied about it. The blonde beauty is now opening herself up to Harrison, but fans aren't pleased with their conversation. ‌ Helena and Harrison were seen having a cosy chat in the pool together when Helena brought up his other interest, American girl Toni, 24. Helena said Toni was "marking her territory" with Harrison and said she feels like Toni doesn't like it when she talks to Harrison. ‌ Fans rushed to express their opinions on X, as one person wrote: 'Helena's main personality trait is putting other girls down. And she has the audacity to call THEM boring', while another added: 'Helena's chat is literally just talking down other girls'. A third added: 'I'm seeing a very nasty pattern with Helena…..', while another said: "Can we get a compilation of Helena talking shit about the girls behind their backs on movie night please'. Helena's flirty conversation was followed by another game in the villa, which is proving to be very dramatic this year. The islanders were tasked with a game of spin the bottle, which saw chaos erupt in the villa. The Islanders were faced with telling truths and dares. Conor, who is currently getting to know Emily, got a dare to put the person he thinks is best in bed in his "most favourite sex position", and he chose Megan. ‌ Conor got her to lie on her tummy on the floor and declared his favourite position to be "speed bumps", before he hovered above her and said: "Pump'. Megan's partner Tommy shook his head disapproving of the actions. Emily then said: "If he carries on, he'll never find out how I am in bed." Elsewhere in the episode, fans showed real concern for Alima as they pointed out her lack of airtime and questioned if she had gone missing.

Liverpool music festival halted after Sting's support suffers 'cardiac arrest' live on stage

Sting said the musician is 'in his prayers' as he took to the stage for the final night of 2025 On The Waterfront festival. Sting's support group The Christians had a gig in Liverpool halted mid-performance when the drummer collapsed and suffered a 'cardiac arrest'. Garry Christian had been fronting the band at a gig when he stopped and called for medical help for his bandmate. A privacy screen was then erected on the stage, as emergency responders raced to the scene. ‌ The musician was then treated at the venue before being raced to hospital. A woman who is believed to be the band's manager, Emma Bridget, announced an emotional update to the shocked crowd. She said: 'We're really hoping he is going to make it. He didn't have a pulse, he's got one now, we think. Thank you so much." ‌ The band had been performing at Liverpool's Pier Head when the drama unfolded. Emma went on: 'I'm just so sorry because Garry loves Liverpool and he wanted to put on the show of his life and we're really devastated but thank you so much.' A message was then displayed to fans after the ordeal, which read: 'We appreciate your patience and understanding. Medical staff are with the performer, and we will provide an update as soon as we can.' The group had been performing at the final night of the 2025 On The Waterfront festival. Thousands of people flocked to the English city as a host of musicians appeared. The Mirror reports the crowd was at capacity and the venue was silent as events took place on stage. There are no further updates on the drummer's condition at the moment but Sting provided information when he took to the stage to close the festival tonight. He said: 'The drummer in the band before is OK. He's in hospital. All of us are praying he's going to be fine. Our thoughts are with him.' ‌ Sting is the headliner for the concert, making his long-awaited return to Liverpool as part of his STING 3.0 World Tour. The Christians, from Liverpool, had the highest selling debut album of any artist at Island Records and international chart hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s after forming in 1985. ‌ The Christians are made up of Garry Christian (lead vocals), Roger Christian (vocals and instrumentalist), Russell Christian (keyboards, saxophone, vocals), and Henry Priestman (keyboards, guitars, vocals). Priestman, although not a relative, shared the Christian name by coincidence. Early members also included Paul Barlow on drums, Mike Bulger on guitar and vocals, and Tony Jones on bass. Roger Christian stepped away from the group in 1987 and announced he didn't want to tour, focusing on a solo album instead. He passed away in 1998 after a battle with a brain tumour. In 1995, Garry Christian moved to Paris to record his own solo album, Your Cool Mystery, effectively breaking up the band, although no formal announcement was made. The group have since reformed and have been performing again.
