Lambo Doors Make Even An Already Perfect Bright Yellow Celica Better
A bright yellow Toyota Celica is one of the better cars on planet Earth, on this I think we can all agree. It's a Celica, it's bright yellow, what else could you possibly want? Well, it turns out there's still room for improvement. You could have a bright yellow Toyota Celica with Lamborghini doors, the objectively superior door. This is, truly, as good as cars get.
This Celica popped up on Facebook Marketplace a few weeks ago, and it's just about perfect in every way with the doors closed. This generation of Celica was a truly gorgeous era, especially in such clean condition as this one, but this beautiful owner one-upped Toyota's work. Just look at how beautiful this is! This might well be the peak of automotive design, and I challenge any manufacturer to do better within their own design departments. This is the new standard for you to meet.

I am a genuine proponent of upward-swinging doors like this. Without any hyperbole, I think that all cars having these doors would be a benefit to society. Think about every tight parking spot you've ever been in, every parking lot door ding you've ever gotten, and imagine that all those struggles were gone. Doors that open upwards can't hit their neighbors in a parking lot, they can't get hemmed in by tall curbs or streetside trash cans. Sure, these doors look cool, but they're also just a better way to get in and out of vehicles.
Lambo doors are great. Celicas are great. Yellow is great. That combination of factors makes this just about the best car on Facebook Marketplace, if not the greatest on American roads today. It's got an automatic transmission, and I don't even care because of how beautiful it is. This is the apex of the automotive art form.

Next Toyota Supra And Lexus Twin Might Ditch BMW For Mazda Inline-Six
Production of the current Toyota GR Supra is set to come to an end next year, but we already know Toyota is working on a successor to this brilliant sports car. Now, rumors have surfaced regarding a Lexus sports car twin for the next GR Supra. Up until this point, the two performance coupes from Lexus - the RC and LC - have not had anything in common with the Supra. But this next generation of Toyota/Lexus sports cars will be different, with the two sports cars expected to share a powertrain - and not one from BMW. According to Best Car Web from Japan, the Lexus version of the next Supra will be known as the LC+RC Integrated Sports, although this is obviously not expected to be the official name. What we can tell from this name is that the new Lexus sports car could replace both the RC and LC, which have been around for some time. The next Supra is expected to get a 2.0-liter turbocharged hybrid powertrain, with power still going to the rear wheels and either an eight- or 10-speed automatic. No mention was made of a manual gearbox option. The Japanese outlet also said that Toyota is investigating whether it can use Mazda's smooth inline-six engine for the Supra, which the Lexus version would logically use, too. In the Mazda CX-90, this engine makes up to 340 horsepower, but we'd expect a more powerful version in these sports cars. Mazda and Toyota already share powertrains, with the CX-50 Hybrid and RAV4 Hybrid using the same four-cylinder hybrid. Even if their powertrains are the same, one key difference will be the seating layout. Whereas the next Supra is expected to remain a dedicated two-seater model, the Lexus version will be a 2+2. A convertible is also possible. As we saw with the BMW Z4 and Toyota GR Supra relationship, two cars with the same underpinnings can still look and feel completely unique, with their own driving characteristics. For this reason, we don't expect the new Supra to become an overly sanitized softie, simply because it will have a Lexus sibling. The Supra will likely be sharper and more engaging, whereas the Lexus version will probably be more of a classic grand tourer. The two cars will definitely be uniquely styled, and the Lexus should have better amenities and higher-quality finishes to justify a higher price tag. For now, further details are unknown, but the next-gen Supra is expected to be shown in 2026. If the rumors prove to be true, the Lexus version will show its face around the same time. Lamborghini Pins Hopes on Synthetic Fuel to Save Combustion Engines
It's abundantly clear to Lamborghini that removing the internal combustion engine from the equation will hinder demand. The company has already delayed the launch of its first EV and recently disclosed plans to keep combustion engines for 'as long as possible.' But ICE doesn't necessarily have to run on gasoline. For instance, the new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 can feed on synthetic fuel without compromises. In an interview with Australian magazine CarExpert , Lamborghini's Chief Technical Officer argued that synthetic fuel 'could be the savior of the combustion engine.' Rouven Mohr added that the Temerario's new engine can 'deliver optimal efficiency and performance with both solutions [gas and e-fuel].' He also touched on the emotional aspect, claiming that EVs still can't match the excitement of an ICE car. Lamborghini Temerario's V-8 Photo by: Lamborghini 'If you ask me the emotion side at the moment, like I said before, I don't see the [electric] solution that is convincing now. Its time will come, trust me, because this kind of technology transformation needs longer.' But even when enthusiasts warm up to the idea of hot EVs, Mohr believes there will come a time when tomorrow's youngsters will realize that 'okay, the old combustion thing is cool.' Lamborghini is pinning its hopes on synthetic fuel to extend the life of ICEs beyond 2035, when the European Union will ban sales of new cars that produce harmful emissions. The ruling doesn't explicitly outlaw combustion engines, as it leaves room for e-fuels, provided they're carbon neutral. Synthetic fuels have yet to catch on, and even if they do in the coming years, they'll remain expensive until production scales up. That, however, isn't likely to deter Lamborghini buyers. The exotic Italian marque, headquartered in Sant'Agata Bolognese, is part of the Volkswagen Group, which also includes Porsche. That's relevant because Porsche has been producing e-fuel in Chile since late 2022, when it filled a 911 with synthetic fuel made from water and carbon dioxide using wind energy. Porsche fills up 911 with synthetic fuel Porsche claims its electric fuel is 'produced from hydrogen obtained purely from renewable energy and CO₂ (carbon dioxide).' It's being manufactured at an industrial scale in partnership with Chilean operator Highly Innovative Fuels (HIF) to make 'combustion engines as near to net carbon neutral as possible.' While a 911 costs less than half the price of a Temerario , it still starts at $129,950 in base Carrera form. Porsche buyers likely won't mind paying extra for synthetic fuel if it means keeping their combustion engines running. Porsche has vowed that the last car it makes with a combustion engine will be the 911, and that a fully electric version won't arrive this decade. However, a hybrid is already here . Beyond Lamborghini and Porsche, Bentley and Bugatti are also pursuing e-fuels. Outside the Volkswagen Group, Ferrari has also shown interest in synthetic fuel. In the mainstream segment, Toyota, Mazda, and Subaru are collaborating to explore whether ICEs can survive without relying on fossil fuels. Toyota has even gone a step further, experimenting with hydrogen combustion engines . Let's be real. Making e-fuels viable for widespread adoption won't happen overnight, if it happens at all. Large-scale production and distribution will take years and require collective industry effort. With most automakers fully committed to global EV adoption, we're skeptical about whether enough financial resources remain to push synthetic fuels forward. Perhaps they'll become a niche for high-end buyers willing to pay the price, but the majority will have to look elsewhere. Toyota launches fuel cell trucks for greener logistics
Toyota Motor Europe has taken a step towards sustainable logistics with the introduction of fuel cell trucks in collaboration with VDL Groep. This initiative marks a move towards zero tailpipe emissions in heavy-duty logistics vehicles. The partnership has already seen the deployment of four additional fuel cell trucks, following an initial demonstration vehicle. These trucks are now operational across key logistics routes in Belgium, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. Toyota is working with logistics providers Vos Transport Group, CEVA Logistics, Groupe CAT, and Yusen Logistics to integrate these zero-emission vehicles into the daily operations of Toyota Parts Centre Europe. The Toyota Parts Centre Europe is a hub of activity, handling over 500,000 parts and accessories each day. The performance of the 40-tonne fuel cell trucks will be closely monitored here. The company said, these trucks offer a comparable performance to diesel counterparts but produce no tailpipe emissions. They are powered by electricity generated from hydrogen and oxygen, with a range of up to 400km on a single refuel under real-world conditions. In addition to environmental benefits, the fuel cell trucks provide a smoother ride with their vibration-free electric motors, enhancing driving comfort and reducing community disturbance. Toyota Motor Europe R&D vice president Thiebault Paquet said: 'This initiative is in line with Toyota's goal to reach carbon neutrality in its logistics operations by 2040, but it also aims to contribute to growing the hydrogen economy. Heavy-duty fuel cell trucks can boost the demand for hydrogen, which is one of the key contributors along with the implementation of the EU's Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR). "Together with our logistics providers, we aim to gather learnings from the daily operation of our first hydrogen-powered logistics fleet and further improve the vehicles and operational processes.' Furthermore, this month, FAW Toyota has launched the new bZ5 battery-powered SUV in China. This move is part of Toyota's strategy to expand its presence in the rapidly growing new energy vehicle market in China, offering a competitively priced option for consumers.
