Visakhapatnam – Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his satisfaction regarding the recent success of the Yoga Andhra event, hosted by the government at the prestigious Visakhapatnam venue. In a review meeting held with ministers and officials at the Visakhapatnam Collectorate, Naidu highlighted the impressive participation of over 300,000 individuals in the event, which he described as a resounding success, achieved through the cooperation of the community.
The Chief Minister extended his congratulations to public representatives and employees for their efforts in setting Guinness World Records during the event. The discussion also covered the various ways in which International Yoga Day was celebrated across different regions of the state, demonstrating a collective commitment to promoting health and wellness.

Paryaya Puthige Mutt Seer leads Yoga Day session in Udupi
The Paryaya Puthige Mutt seer Sugunendra Tirtha Swami led a one-hour long Yoga session in the Sri Krishna Mutt premises on the occasion of International Yoga Day on Saturday at Udupi. The yoga session was conducted under the directions of Yoga trainer Mamata Shettigar. 'I am taking part in the whole session only to make people aware that seers also do Yoga. I have been doing Yoga for a long time,' the seer said. The ancient concept of Yoga, which is a resource for physical and mental well being, should be spread across the world, the seer added. The session started with warm-up exercises that included the neck and shoulder rotations, which were followed by twisting of waist. Then 'Tadasana', 'Vrukshasana', 'Padahastasana', 'Ardhachakrasana', 'Bhadrasana', 'Vajrasana', 'Ustrasana', 'Bhujangasana', 'Mandookasana', 'Uttana Mandookasana', 'Sethubandhasana', and 'Shavasana' were done. Then 'Kapalabhati', 'Nadishoodhana Pranayama', 'Sheetali Pranayama', and 'Brahamari Prayanama' were done. Yoga has helped Udupi District in charge Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar on Saturday said it was because of regular yoga practice for over two decades that she was in a position to work 15 hours a day. Ms. Hebbalkar said she was going about 20 surya namaskars every day. Recent motor vehicle accident in which she was injured has constrained her from doing Yoga every day. She was now doing Yoga fives days a week. Yoga brings mental joy and promotes a healthy lifestyle, she said. Apart from Ms. Hebbalkar, Yashpal Suvarna and Gurme Suresh Shetty, Udupi District MLAs, Ashok Kodavoor, District Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee Chairman, T.K. Swaroopa, Deputy Commissioner, Prateek Bayal, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer, Ganapathi, Kundapura Divisional Forest Officer, and Satish Acharya, District AYUSH officer took part.

RGUKT IIIT students celebrate International Yoga Day
Students of Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) IIIT in Nuzvid celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day by performing yoga on the lawns of the institute, here on Saturday. Nuzvid IIIT Director S. Amarendra Kumar, who practised yoga along with the faculty and the students, asked all to do 'yogasanas' for an hour every day. The 17th Andhra Battalion NCC, Vijayawada, performed yoga with a slogan 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health', at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Smrithi Maidan, in Vijayawada. Nearly 1,200 cadets of various institutes, NCC officers, instructors performed various yogasanas in the Smrithi Maidan, said Commanding Officer, Lt. Col. G.C. Pandey. Officers of South Central Railway (SCR), Vijayawada division, celebrated the International Yoga Day, and practised yogasanas at Railway Function Hall. Additional Divisional Railway Manager P.E. Edwin, Srinivas Rao Konda, Divisional Personnel Officer Rasana Devi and other officers felicitated yoga instructors, Velaga Swathi and Velugubanti Saatvika on the occasion. International Yoga Day was celebrated at more than 20 places in SCR Vijayawada division, in which many railway employees participated, the SCR officials said.

Senior citizens, children participate in Yoga Day events held in Kochi
Several people, including children and senior citizens, participated in the International Yoga Day programmes held here on Saturday (June 21, 2025). Union Minister Suresh Gopi, who led the programme held at the Bolgatty Palace event centre, said Yoga should become a daily habit among people to build a healthy nation. 'Good health is essential for the country's development, and Yoga is the only way to achieve it,' he added. Actor Mohanlal participated in a programme held at Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) convention centre in Nedumbassery. Several children joined him in demonstrating Yoga techniques. Speaking on the occasion, the actor urged the youth to stay away from the menace of drugs, describing it as a cancer that destroys one's health. A mass Yoga session was organised by the Indian Coast Guard District Headquarters No. 4 (Kerala & Mahe) at its headquarters in Fort Kochi. The event was held in association with the Kochi Cultural Heritage and Tourism Society and Brahma Kumaris Foundation. Around 300 participants, including officers, enlisted personnel, defence civilians, and family members of the Coast Guard fraternity, took part in the session. At the Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training headquarters in Kochi, Director M. Habibullah inaugurated the International Yoga Day programmes. Officers, staff, and students participated and practised yoga asanas on the occasion. A yoga dance event was held at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. Organised by the faculty and students of the Department of Physical Education, the programme highlighted the importance of Yoga. District Police Chief (Kochi City) Putta Vimaladitya inaugurated the Yoga Day programme held at Amrita Hospital. Students and teachers took part in the training session. Prof. M. Junaid Bushiri, Vice-Chancellor, Cochin University of Science and Technology, inaugurated the Yoga Day programmes organised by the Department of Physical Education in association with the National Service Scheme and the Kunjali Marakkar School of Marine Engineering on its Thrikkakara campus. T.J. Vinod, MLA, was the chief guest at the programme organised by the 7(K) Naval NCC unit at St. Teresa's CGHSS, Ernakulam. The participants demonstrated various asanas and breathing techniques.
