In Flames announced the news on the band's social media accounts, telling fans they had "parted ways" with Tanner Wayne.
In a statement released on Instagram, In Flames said: "It is with profound gratitude and and appreciation that we announce our creative decision to part ways with Tanner Wayne.
"His dedication and musicianship over the past several years has left, and will continue to leave, a lasting mark on this band.
"We wish him nothing but the best."
The Swedish band, which was formed 35 years ago, concluded: "We appreciate your support and understanding at this time and hope to see you all on tour this summer."
Tanner, 37, joined In Flames in July 2018 when he replaced drummer Joe Rickard.
The US musician had begun his drumming career in the hardcore punk band Underminded in 2006, but only featured on one album.
He went on to drum for Chiodos and Suicide Silence before his seven-year stint with In Flames.
Tanner's shock exit from the band came just days before they kicked off their European tour in Estonia.
For the next month, the group - consisting of Björn Gelotte, Anders Fridén, Chris Broderick and Liam Wilson - will be performing across central Europe, eventually wrapping up Sweden.

But despite Tanner walking away, the shows will go on.
In Flames has already recruited a new drummer who accompanied them on their opening night in Tallin, Estonia, on Monday.
Jon Rice has stepped in for the band's high profile tour and appears to have slotted right in.
Alongside a photo of himself playing on stage, Jon wrote on Instagram: "Show #1 done. Thank you for the warm welcome, Tallinn.
"And thank you to @inflames for having me and trusting me with your tunes."
In Flames was originally formed by guitarist Jesper Strömblad in Gothenburg out of the Swedish death metal scene in 1990.
The lineup has changed multiple times over the past three decades, however vocalist Anders Fridén and guitarist Björn Gelotte have remained consistent since 1995.

Inside Ellen DeGeneres' rustic Cotswolds home after fleeing the US

Since Ellen has fled the US, she has lived in two country homes - but the first one was far from the couple's dream home and finally the couples have found happiness in their new home... and sheep Ellen DeGeneres, 67, quietly moved to the UK after Donald Trump's re-election in 2024, ditching her $96million (£71million) California estate for the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. While Ellen and Portia originally snapped up a sprawling 43-acre farmhouse, things didn't go to plan. The luxury mansion bought as a dream escape was reportedly hit with epic flooding, and locals say nearby roads were left five feet under water. The couple are also said to have struggled with tight country roads, even needing to detour a mile and a half just to get around traffic bollards. ‌ Now, they've moved to a second property perched on higher ground in Oxfordshire and the new spot already seems like a better match - no flooding, fewer detours and as fans have seen this week, plenty of space for sheep to roam.. or sneak inside ‌ This week, we got a peek inside as Ellen shared a sweet snap of Portia photographing a rainbow from their hilltop garden. Captioning the photo, she gushed: 'My wife, a rainbow, and my wife taking a photograph of a rainbow.' She's also been showing off their growing animal family including their new sheep, who've made themselves very at home. In a recent Instagram video, four sheep were seen wandering through the couple's open-plan home, startling their tiny dog. 'They're inside?' Portia can be heard asking, to which Ellen calmly replies, 'Yeah, they're inside.' Another clip, filmed by Portia, shows one of the sheep named Bernie strolling indoors. 'Oh no, Bernie, you can't be in here,' she laughs, gently guiding her back out. Just days earlier, Ellen posted footage of the sheep barging into the chicken coop. 'That's not your food! Get out of there,' she scolded, chasing them off camera. ‌ But while the couple are embracing rural life - chickens and all. However not everything's gone unnoticed. Ellen was recently roasted by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane at a star-studded charity gala, where he joked: 'She left right after the election… now she's the nicest person in France.' But not quite accurate, she's actually set up home in the English countryside. Ellen previously hit back at claims she's 'mean,' telling fans during a stand-up show: 'I can be demanding and tough… but I'm not mean.' Despite the storms, the pair seem to be settling into village life with their new £15 million hilltop home offering sweeping views, a sustainable drainage system, and hopefully fewer surprises.

The pictures of Billi at Georgia and Tommy's second wedding, which was held in Mallorca, come after her ex Andy Carroll was quizzed by police. The Sun on Sunday has exclusively revealed how the ex-Premier League footballer was questioned over bust-ups with his girlfriend Lou Teasdale on the Greek party island Mykonos. Carroll and make-up artist to the stars Lou are said to have rowed at a packed beachside restaurant and then at their hotel. One worker at the Nikolus Tavern said of the first argument: 'We recognised him as the footballer Andy Carroll immediately. 'He seemed very drunk and furious with his partner. 'He was using very bad words. It was improper behaviour. The woman looked very upset.' Police arrived after the first incident and took the former Newcastle, Liverpool and West Ham ace to one side for a chat. He was later allowed to return to Lou. But just hours later, police were called again by alarmed staff after reports of damage to the couple's room at a £500-a-night boutique hotel. Andy Carroll quizzed by cops twice after bust-ups with girlfriend at packed restaurant and hotel during Greek holiday Officers are said to have escorted Carroll to a local station for questioning. He was not arrested and it is understood no further action was taken. A joint statement from Carroll and Lou said: 'Whilst having a private dinner in a restaurant on a quiet holiday in Mykonos, we had a heated discussion of the sort that most couples have had on occasion. It quickly became apparent to the police that there was no reason for them to be there. 'We went outside the restaurant with them together as they insisted they wanted to 'look after' us. 'As far as we are concerned, the situation has been blown out of all proportion by an interested member of the public. No one was arrested and no one was charged with anything. We are very happy, in love and looking forward to our future together and we are disappointed that a private disagreement has become a public matter.' The Mykonos hotel and police on the island declined to comment when contacted. Meanwhile, Billi touched down in Mallorca last week ahead of Georgia and Tommy's wedding. The mum-of-three, who also looks after Carroll's two eldest children from a previous relationship, looked incredible as she showed her ex what he is missing in a bikini. She has since shared a selection of photos from Georgia and Tommy's big day. They previously said 'I do' in 2023. Billi gushed: "Congratulations @georgiakousoulou & @iamtommyfordham. "The best day & night celebrating you both ❤️." Billi announced her split with Carroll in October last year. He confirmed his romance with Lou just weeks later. 7 Andy and Billi split in August last year after two rocky years of marriage Credit: Getty 7 The pair have three kids together and Andy has two children from a previous relationship Credit: Instagram

Sabrina Carpenter's sexuality ISN'T the problem – instead it's those who vilify women

Our columnist Zara Janjua has her say on the debate around Sabrina Carpenter's new album cover ZARA JANJUA Sabrina Carpenter's sexuality ISN'T the problem – instead it's those who vilify women WHAT exactly is a regressive stereotype of a woman? Because judging by the collective societal nosebleed over Sabrina Carpenter's latest album cover — where she's on all fours, hair playfully held by a man, beside the title Man's Best Friend — apparently, it's any woman who dares to be sexual on purpose. Advertisement 2 Zara Janjua doesn't see what all the fuss is about with Sabrina Carpenter's album cover Credit: The Sun 2 The Espresso singer sparked a backlash over her Man's Best Friend album cover Credit: instagram Cue the outrage. Cue the Facebook dissertations. Cue Glasgow Women's Aid calling it 'a throwback to tired tropes' and suggesting it promotes 'violence and control'. I mean, really? This is what sends people into moral convulsions? Advertisement A consenting adult who's posing in a bit of cheeky sub/dom cosplay? The trope I'm personally bored to death with is the pure, respectable, sexless woman. You know, the one whose value peaks just before she hits puberty and plummets the minute she discovers lube. That's the real regressive stereotype. The virgin. The saint. The woman who exists to be wanted but never wants. We've been peddling that fantasy since Eve got blamed for a fruit salad. Women have always been judged and persecuted for their sexuality — from witch trials to lobotomies, FGM to honour killings. Advertisement Meanwhile, men are celebrated for doing the exact same thing. The Weeknd released a whole concept album as a sleazy club predator and was hailed as 'visionary'. Sabrina Carpenter fans only just realising she's a secret nepo-baby with HUGELY famous TV star family member I'm beyond bored of the double standards. And it's everywhere. Notably on TV — where stereotypes and tropes are rampant. When Disney+ brought Jilly Cooper's Rivals to screen last year, they had their chance to modernise the script but they blew it. The lead male — Rupert Campbell-Black, played by Alex Hassell — is deliciously promiscuous, arrogant, entitled, and is allowed to shag everything that moves, cheat on his partners, seduce stable girls and still ride off into the sunset with a young, virginal beauty, triumphant and completely adored. Advertisement But Sarah Stratton, played by Emily Atack, who mirrors Rupert's behaviour? She's a side character. At first, she's the punchline then the villain — calculating, emotionally unstable, and punished for daring to want. Same libido, different ending. One gets the girl. The other gets the boot. And don't even get me started on what Hollywood did to Samantha Jones — sex goddess. Publicist. Icon. In the final season of Sex And The City while Charlotte was enjoying family life with her husband and adopted child, as Miranda found vulnerability and married Steve and Carrie finally got her happily-ever-after with Big . . . Samantha got breast cancer. Advertisement A disease written-in to attack her womanhood and her libido. Even Kim Cattrall said the storyline felt like punishment for her character's rampant sexual appetite and wild lifestyle. Then came And Just Like That, where Samantha was exiled to London and reduced to a 76-second phone cameo. (Yes, I timed it.) Kim Cattrall has confirmed she won't be returning for season three, because, honestly, who wants to be the sexy scapegoat again? And we're supposed to believe Sabrina is the problem? The problem is that we vilify women who express their sexuality or we turn them into a joke. Advertisement And don't come at me with 'What about the kids?' If your teenager's understanding of sex, respect and relationships comes solely from an album cover, that's not Sabrina's fault — that's yours. Maybe we should be teaching young people to talk about consent, fantasy and desire like actual humans, instead of pretending sex doesn't exist and then blaming women when it inevitably does. The backlash isn't about the image. It's about control. People hate when a woman launches herself crotch-first into the world, without shame, without compromise, and without asking if it's OK first.
