Nick Jonas to play Kiss frontman Paul Stanley in upcoming biopic

Nick Jonas was made for rock 'n' roll, at least onscreen, as he's been tapped to play Kiss frontman Paul Stanley in an upcoming biopic about the glam rock band.
The 32-year-old pop star will reportedly lead the cast of Shout It Out Loud , a film that's said to follow the rockers' early days in the 1970s, according to Deadline.
Sources told the outlet that Jonas will be doing his own singing, but that he'll need time to train in order to replicate Stanley's voice. The film is slated to begin production late this year or early next.
Shout It Out Loud is being helmed by McG, the director known for films like Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, The Babysitter and most recently, 2024's Uglies .
No other casting decisions have been revealed, though McG reportedly has someone unidentified in mind to take on the role of bassist and co-vocalist Gene Simmons.
None of the people involved in the project nor any members of the band had publicly remarked on the news as of Thursday afternoon.
Though Jonas is most well-known for his part in the music trio the Jonas Brothers — alongside older bros Joe and Kevin — he's certainly made the rounds on stage and screen. He most recently appeared in this year's You're Cordially Invited for Amazon Prime Video, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell.
Jonas is currently starring with Adrienne Warren in The Last Five Years , which opened at the Hudson Theatre in April. He previously appeared onstage in the musicals How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying and Annie Get Your Gun . – New York Daily News/Tribune News Service

US singer Chris Brown pleads not guilty in UK assault case
LONDON: American R&B singer Chris Brown today pleaded not guilty in a UK court to a charge stemming from an alleged London nightclub brawl in 2023. Brown, 36, wearing a dark suit and tie as well as glasses, stood in the dock in London as the charge was put to him, replying: "Not guilty, ma'am." The singer, who is on £5 million (RM28.7 million) bail, waved to people in the public gallery as he left, following his plea to allegedly attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. A five to seven-day long trial was scheduled to start on Oct 26, 2026. The singer was held in custody for a nearly a week in May after he was arrested in the northwestern city of Manchester. He was later released on bail. Under the terms of his bail, he will forfeit the £5 million guarantee if he fails to return for court proceedings. He was also given the go-ahead to continue his scheduled international tour which began on June 8 in Amsterdam. The star, who had a troubled relationship with Barbadian singer Rihanna, is on the UK leg of his tour, with his next date in London tomorrow. Brown is charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to an assault in which the victim was allegedly struck several times with a bottle before being pursued, punched and kicked. The alleged incident took place at a nightclub in Hanover Square in London on Feb 19, 2023 while Brown was touring in the UK. Police detained him in the early hours of May 13 at a five-star hotel in Manchester after he reportedly flew in by private jet. Other bail terms include that he should surrender his passport if he is not travelling. He is also required to live at a specific address known to the court and is not permitted to visit the nightclub where the alleged assault took place or contact the alleged victim, Abraham Diah. He appeared in the dock with co-defendant Omololu Akinlolu, a US national, with whom he is jointly charged. Akinlolu also entered a not guilty plea to the same charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent. Both men are also jointly charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. They will enter pleas to that charge on July 11, the court was told. Brown also faces a third charge of having an offensive weapon, a bottle, in public. The Grammy-winning singer is known for mid-2000s hits such as "Kiss, Kiss." He rose from a local church choir in Virginia to sudden fame with his rich R&B voice and later rap, but his reputation has been tarnished by the allegations of abuse.

Fans are counting down the days to BLACKPINK's (블랙핑크) long-awaited reunion tour 'DEADLINE', which kicks off on 5th July 2025 (Saturday). However, with just two weeks left until the first show and still no comeback, the public is starting to get cross with YG Entertainment. Recently, the agency released merchandise details for BLACKPINK's 'DEADLINE' tour pop-up in Japan. For those wondering, K-pop concerts in Japan often have a different set of merchandise than the rest of the tour. Companies will also hold pop-ups to sell more merchandise before the concert to build hype. Unfortunately, BLACKPINK's recent merchandise list had more fans disappointed than excited. As it turns out, the products for sale consisted of the usual t-shirts, caps and cheering towels with the group and the tour's logo. However, the product that angered BLINKS (BLACKPINK fans) the most was a clear bag made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a.k.a plastic, with the BLACKPINK logo. More shockingly, the pop-up sells the plastic bag for 2,500 yen (approximately RM74) each. Understandably, this sparked a lot of backlash for YG Entertainment. Many fans argued that the company is taking advantage of fans looking forward to BLACKPINK's comeback by jacking up prices for cheap and bland merchandise. Some also slammed the lack of consideration for the designs, quipping that the label and the tour's design team are lazy and uncreative. At the same time, fans are expressing outrage toward YG Entertainment for the lack of updates regarding the tour and BLACKPINK's comeback. Many argued that the quartet has no new music released for the tour, despite only two weeks left until the first show. While there are rumours that the group will make their comeback in early July, some lamented that it's too close to the start of the tour.
