Max George gives one-word health update after major heart surgery
The Wanted singer Max George has shared a heath update following his second major heart surgery after a terrifying health scare last year as he shares how life's changed
Max George has issued an update on his recovery after undergoing two major heart surgeries. The Wanted singer, 36, was rushed to hospital in December when his mum noticed he had turned blue.
The terrifying health scare saw Max being told his heart was dangerously weak, and he was fitted with a pacemaker just before Christmas. Girlfriend Maisie Smith, 23, has been by Max's side throughout his recovery and was by his side for the second heart operation in February.
The additional surgery forced Max to cancel a live show with The Wanted's new two-member lineup, which includes bandmate Siva Kaneswaran.
Thankfully, Max has made huge progress in his recovery and has even hit the road on tour with Maisie. The pair toured the UK in Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds and Max is also returning to the stage with Siva.
In an update, Max explained his is now feeling "great". "It's probably taken me until about the last two weeks to almost fully recover where I feel normal," he told Heat magazine.
"When I wake up in the morning, my energy's much higher now. I'm getting there. It's taken a while, but I feel really good."
Bandmate Siva added: "You've come a long way. I'm very proud of you. You should have seen him in January or February, we're very lucky that he's recovered very fast... I'd let him know if he was lagging!"
Max admitted his theatre tour was "tiring" because he was still in recovery. "It was more stubbornness than anything because I really wanted to experience doing that show with Maisie so I was going to do it no matter what."
The singer insisted he is now in a "really, really good position" regarding his health and is ready for his tour with Siva. "I'm just ready for thgis now and it feels so natural that, even when I'm not 100% I still feel great doing it," he said.
The Wanted, is made up of Max, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes and late Tom Parker who tragically died in 2022 at the age of 33 following a cancer battle. However, Max has been performing under a spin-off outfit since last year.
Joined by Siva to form The Wanted 2.0, Max announced last year that he would be hitting the road with his bandmate to entertain fans across North America as well as the UK.
Due to his health, Max had a setback as he had to undergo a second emergency surgery after his pacemaker was fitted incorrectly. He shared that he had to go to hospital again to fix the issues, and admitted that he was going through a 'pretty rough time.'
The singer shared a photo of himself lying in a hospital bed with headphones on, with wires and monitors attached to his body. He then followed up with himself in a bathroom after the second surgery, showing a fresh scar on his chest underneath a tattoo of his late bandmate Tom Parker 's date of birth.
Alongside the photo, Max wrote: 'A few weeks ago I had to go back into hospital after having some physical symptoms in my chest. It turned out that one of the leads was placed too far into my heart. The second surgery took about 2 hours. Luckily, it was a success and they kindly let me listen to Oasis the whole time.
"It's been a setback, but it's just one of those things. I've had a few complications the last couple of months but I'm having loads of tests to make sure everything is all good.
"It can take a few weeks / months for the inflammation of my heart to subside (myocarditis) but I'm sure I'll be back on top form in no time! Thanks everyone for all your lovely messages and support through what's been a pretty rough time. Means a lot.'

Bonus: At-Home Testosterone Tests At-home testosterone tests have become a convenient option for those wanting to check their testosterone levels discreetly and comfortably from home. One such example is the test offered by telehealth brands. Before prescribing their testosterone treatment, they typically require individuals to take this at-home test to assess their current hormone levels. This approach helps ensure the protocol is tailored to the individual's specific needs, optimizing the potential benefits while monitoring safety. How Does It Work? At-home testosterone tests usually involve collecting a saliva or blood sample using a kit sent by mail, which you then send back to the lab for analysis. Once the results are in, they can provide a clearer picture of whether a testosterone-boosting regimen, or even a more comprehensive approach like hormone replacement therapy, might be necessary or beneficial. It's a straightforward process that adds a layer of personalization and precision to hormone health management. FAQs About the Best Testosterone Boosters Let's answer common questions people ask about the best testosterone boosters in the UK. What Is Testosterone? Testosterone is a hormone that plays a crucial role in the body, mainly in men but also in women, to a lesser extent. It's famously known for its key role in developing male sexual characteristics like a deeper voice, facial hair, and muscle growth. But that's not all it does; it also influences mood, bone density, and overall energy levels. As you get older, your body's testosterone levels might change, which can affect various aspects of your health and well-being. So, it's more than just a muscle-building hormone—it's a bit of a multitasker in your body's complex system. Are Testosterone Boosters or Supplements Safe? Natural testosterone boosters from reputable brands are mostly low-risk options for healthy men. However, testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) carries potential side effects such as increased red blood cell count, prostate stimulation, and fertility issues. What Is the Very Best Testosterone Booster? While TestoPrime is our #1 option, identifying the "very best" testosterone booster can be tricky because it largely depends on individual health needs and goals. It also depends on how one's body reacts to different ingredients. However, some supplements (like the ones on our list) are highly regarded for their quality and effectiveness based on user reviews and clinical trials. Do Testosterone Boosters Work? The effectiveness of the best natural testosterone boosters can vary widely depending on the individual, the specific ingredients used, and the reasons for taking them. Some people may experience noticeable benefits, while others might not see any significant changes. What Increases Testosterone in Males the Most? A healthy lifestyle can be your secret weapon: hit the gym for weight training, maintain a healthy weight, fuel your body with protein and healthy fats, and get enough sleep. Those habits, including managing stress, can give your testosterone a natural boost. Which Vitamins Boost Testosterone? One common example is vitamin D, found naturally in sunlight. It might lift your levels, especially if you're deficient. But remember, these are just supporting characters. A healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet, exercise, and enough sleep is still the main act for testosterone health. How Do I Know If My Testosterone Is Low? Low sex drive, erectile dysfunction, fatigue, or maybe even trouble gaining muscle are common markers. However, these symptoms can have other causes too. The best way to know for sure is a simple blood test from a doctor to measure your total and testosterone levels. What Is the Number 1 Food To Boost Testosterone? Foods rich in certain nutrients, like zinc, vitamin D, and healthy fats, can be helpful. Consider oysters, fatty fish like salmon, and leafy greens – all these can contribute to a testosterone-friendly diet. Speaking to Mail Online, Jess believes sex is a "pointless activity" if a person is not in a loving relationship. And despite giving the impression on Love Island that she was "sex-obsessed", Jess said this couldn't be further from the truth. "I'm just not interested unless I really connect with a guy," she explained to the publication. Jess added: "I'm not having any, and I don't miss it. I don't want it. It could be years before I have it again, who knows. "I'm not into one-night stands and, believe it or not, I never have been." Jess won the first ever series of Love Island alongside Max Morley in 2015. She worked in a bank at the time and chose to share the £50,000 prize money with Max. The couple appeared smitten and had quickly won over the hearts of the nation. But just six weeks after their triumph, the winners dramatically split when Max was caught spending the night with Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby. I won the first ever Love Island but the fall out from my instant fame was so brutal I've given up sex for good, says Jessica Hayes Looking back, Jess has now accused professional cricket player Max of deliberately "targeting" her. Max had entered the villa as a late bombshell and Jess believes it gave him time to clock how popular she was with viewers. Telling the Mail she is "annoyed" they split the money, Jess added: "So, I do feel he targeted me but, as I say, I was young and naive." Jess was just 22 when she won Love Island and afterwards she threw herself into a lifestyle of wild partying. But three years later, she "hit rock bottom". Have YOU got a story or an amazing picture or video? Email exclusive@ and you could even get PAID Jess struggled with her new-found fame and began questioning the direction her life was going in. Speaking to The Sun On Sunday last month, Jess said: 'I remember feeling very lost and thinking, what now? "You go out a lot and party a lot and sometimes it can be to excess and that's not good for you. "You come out of a show and you're a celebrity and no one says, 'This might only last five minutes'. 'I didn't have good guidance or good management and that didn't help me take the right path. 'There were points where I thought, what the hell am I doing?" Jess is now a devoted mum of two children, five-year-old son Presley and daughter Zendaya Rose, one. The relationships with both of her kids' dads broke down and she is now a single mum. However, Jess said: 'I couldn't ask for more from my children's dads. 'They are in their lives and they are good with them." She added: 'I'm not materialistic at all now and I think that having children, your priorities change. 'And if my daughter tells me she wants to apply for Love Island in 20 years time I will tell her, 'No way — not unless I'm your manager'.' 5 Jess won Love Island alongside Max Morley Credit: ITV2 5 She has accused Max of targeting her on the show Credit: ITV

The 55-year-old singer and actor looked ready to work up a sweat in a sporty ensemble, while Emme favored a casual–cool look that suggested they weren't joining their mother's dance practice. The mother–child bonding moment comes after ex-husband Ben Affleck showed that he was still a part of her children's lives when Emme and their twin brother Max, 17, attended the premiere of his thriller The Accountant 2. Jennifer opted for a baggier-than-usual outfit on Wednesday, including an oversize gray zip-up hoodie that was cropped to show off a hint of her rock-hard abs. She wore a black sports bra underneath that highlighted her cleavage, and she matched it with a slim set of black leggings. The Hustlers star wore her long caramel-colored hair parted down the middle and cascading down her shoulders so that it perfectly framed her large aviator sunglasses. She completed the workout-ready look with white trainers and mid-calf socks, and she accessorized with a large black handbag. Emme favored a white tank top with a long gray–green gingham button-up shirt worn open, along with baggy denim cargo shorts, a brown belt and classic black Converse high-top sneakers. The nepo baby — who uses they/them pronouns — wore stylish eyeglasses and listened to something on earbuds as they headed into the studio. Fans of Jennifer and her ex-husband Ben Affleck were shocked in April when the Oscar winner revealed that Emme and their brother were attending the premiere of his film The Accountant 2, despite his bitter divorce from their mother. Ben revealed the reunion while speaking with Entertainment Tonight, and he also took the opportunity to speak warmly of his ex. 'For the record, Jennifer Lopez is spectacular, great to my kids, great ongoing relationship with them,' the star explained. 'I love her kids. They're wonderful. She's [an] enormously important, tremendous person of a lot of integrity who I adore and am grateful to,' he added. Ben noted that Max and Emme were in the audience with the three children he shares with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 19; Fin, 16; and Samuel, 13. The kids are here, Jen's kids are here. I 'm very, very excited,' Affleck gushed. 'I'm proud of the movie, I love the movie and I love when all the kids come out. It's really fun, it's exciting.' He continued, 'I'm thrilled that the kids are here with me. The relationships that you can have with children like that, it's the joy of my life. And those kids are amazing, and I'm glad that this is a movie they want to come to.' Despite apparently attending, all of Ben and Jennifer's children appear to skip the red carpet. Although Ben spoke warmly of his former stepchildren, the remains of his relationship with Jennifer appear to be tenser, and he is reportedly going to humiliating extremes to sever their final ties. The former couple finalized their divorce in early January of this year, but but they are still connected through ownership of the Beverly Hills mega mansion that they bought in May 2023 for an eye-popping $60.8 million in cash. Since going public with their separation, the two put the 38,000 square-foot home on the market for an even pricier $68 million. Last month, it was reported that Ben and Jennifer had slashed the asking price by more than $8 million to $59.95 million, almost $1 million less than what they initially paid. An insider exclusively revealed to the extent that Ben is willing to go to push along a sale so that he can put his disastrous and short-lived marriage to the actress and singer out of mind. Ben and Jennifer were married in July 2023, nearly two decades after calling off their first engagement. The actress filed for divorce two years later and they settled in January 2025; seen in 2021 in Venice Lopez and Affleck tied the knot in July 2022, nearly two decades after their first relationship and engagement. But their puppy love soon soured, and filed for divorced just two years later. She cited irreconcilable differences as the cause for their split, which she dated to April 26, 2024. The two finalized their divorce in January of this year. Last month, Jennifer was lambasted by fans for her lesbian kiss at the American Music Awards. The hitmaker — who hosted the show and shared kisses with both male and female dancers during an opening medley of her songs and the evening's nominated tunes — was branded 'desperate' by fans due to the bizarre kiss. But an inside source exclusively told that the kiss was all part of a coordinated strategy for Lopez. ' followed the direction of her PR and she did exactly what she was told to do for her post-Ben [Affleck] comeback,' the source said. 'She is living her best life and has zero f***s to give right now,' they continued. 'She dealt with so much uncertainty, but she was brave. She did not allow the negative commentary to bring her down. Instead, she kept going and living her life.' Despite Jennifer's best attempts to put on a good show and also spice up the AMAs, viewers were largely disappointed in the ceremony. One common criticism was that there was a dearth of major stars in attendance. The show was also criticized for airing few categories live, which may have been due to many of the nominees and winners not bothering to show up to the ceremony, which was held in Las Vegas. The event was savaged on social media, with several
