Watch highlights of offseason improvements from MSU star forward Coen Carr
A recent highlights tape of Michigan State forward Coen Carr shows continued growth in his all around game.
We are in the midst of the offseason so finding nuggets of information on progression from the Spartans is always exciting -- even if you have to take it with a grain of salt. That is the case here with Carr, thanks to a recently published video from Greenlight Media.
Greenlight Media posted a minute-long highlights video of Carr from a pickup game during this offseason. In the video, we see Carr throwing down some impressive dunks (shocker), but more importantly it looks like he has even further developed his outside shooting and also some improved ball-handling skills.
Check out the Carr highlights in the video below:
Carr elevated his game this past season, improving from 3.1 points per game to 8.1. He also doubled his rebounds per game numbers from 1.8 to 3.6, and also shot 33.3% from three-point range and 70.1% from the free throw line. Carr will be leaned on even more next season as one of the top returning players for a Michigan State team that should once again be in the mix for a Big Ten title and deep NCAA Tournament run.
As I said before, you can't take a ton out of this short highlights clip. But it still is exciting to see Carr developing the rest of his game and furthers the growing expectations for a big year out of his next season.

Texas A&M lands commitment from elite 2026 five-star Edge out of Georgia
Texas A&M's recruiting success continued on Saturday afternoon, as one of the program's 13 visitors announced his commitment to the Aggies as a five-star edge Tristian Givens, who is currently taking his first official visit to College Station, became the 19th commit in A&M's 2026 cycle, and the second five-star commit alongside cornerback Brandon Arrington. Texas A&M's long history of recruiting and developing elite defensive linemen, and after sending Nic Scourton, Shemar Stewart, and Shemar Turner to the NFL this offseason, Elko and defensive line coaches Tony Jerod-Eddie and Sean Spencer can continue using the program's previous success to gain ground with elite pass rushers with NFL potential. Tristian Givens is that player, and the Georgia native has a bright future in front of him. Choosing the Aggies over Tennessee and Washington, where he recently took official visits, Texas A&M's future edge rotation will allow Givens to see the field earlier than expected, with senior Cashius Howell off to the NFL after the 2025 season. On the field, Givens is still raw as a pass rusher, having started his football career as a wide receiver, but possesses elite traits, especially his ability to bend and keep his balance once he turns the corner. Under Mike Elko, who will call the defensive plays this coming season, recruiting and developing NFL talent is the key to competing for a College Football Playoff spot. According to 247Sports, Givens is currently positioned as the 23rd-ranked prospect in the 2026 cycle, the 3rd-ranked edge, and the 4th-ranked prospect in Georgia. Notre Dame softball commit Ava Zachary named Miss Softball Indiana
Future Fighting Irish infielder hit over .500 en route to award A Notre Dame softball signee has been named Indiana's Miss Softball. Ava Zachary hit .543 with 60 RBI in 32 games for Penn High School in Mishawaka, Ind. She's the first player from Penn to win the state's highest award for a softball player. Mishawaka, of course, is in the South Bend area, so Zachary will be staying close to home when she heads to Notre Dame's campus. The left-handed hitting Zachary plays third base and she helped lead Penn to a 2023 state championship. She's been a four-time First-Team All-Northern Indiana Conference selection. 'It means everything,' Zachary told her school paper, The Pennant. 'It's such a surreal moment. I'm super grateful for this opportunity and the opportunity that Penn softball has given me the past four years. It was an amazing moment to stand up there with all the other amazing talent in Indiana and to hear my name be read. This is so much more than an individual award. It's an award for all the girls at Penn who have ever played Softball, and all the girls who played next to me the last four years and worked so hard and gave such a great effort every day.' 'This award just means I have to get back to work, Zachary said. "I have to work 10 times harder now and work to get better day-in and day-out.' Rising 2026 4-star OT has announced his commitment date
This weekend, Texas A&M is currently hosting 12 prospects in the 2026 and 2027 recruiting class, with a focus on the 2026 cycle, as coach Mike Elko and his staff have already landed 18 commits in the class, including several prospects who are poised to rise in the rankings by the end of the year. Finding talent early has been an impressive feat by the coaching staff, including landing three-star QB/ATH Kaeden Johnson, who is slated to play tight end at the next level, and could be on the same trajectory as Vanderbilt standout TE Eli Stowers, who was once a backup quarterback for the Aggies four year ago. While 2026 five-star edge Bryce Perry-Wright and five-star Tristian Givens, and recent five-star cornerback commit Brandon Arrington are the priority visitors this weekend, three-star offensive tackle Aaron Thomas is one of the aforementioned rising prospects in the cycle. He is also taking his official visit to College Station this weekend. Standing at 6-7 and 300 pounds, the only reason Thomas is considered a three-star prospect is due to his late switch to the offensive line after playing primarily on the D-line until his junior season. Thomas possesses the physical traits to become a starting tackle in the SEC and is a fluid mover in pass protection with great footwork and notable balance. Thomas is a work in progress like most three-star prospects. On Saturday, the Arizona native revealed his commitment date, slated for Wednesday, June 25, as he will choose between Ohio State, Florida State, Texas, Washington, and Texas A&M. Thomas has yet to receive an official prediction to land with any of the five programs listed, but it's safe to say that after official visits to Ohio State, Florida State, and now Texas A&M, all three are considered potential landing spots. According to 247Sports, Thomas is currently positioned as the 50th-ranked offensive tackle and the 8th-ranked prospect in Arizona.
