FanDuel posts odds for MSU football to go undefeated this upcoming season
FanDuel posts odds for MSU football to go undefeated this upcoming season See how much FanDuel is offering to pay out should the Spartans do the unthinkable and win every game on their 2025 schedule Do you think there's even a remote chance of Michigan State football running the table and going undefeated this year? If so, then there's a bet you can take that'll pay you a pretty penny if it hits. FanDuel Sportsbook has released betting odds for notable teams in the Big Ten that could in theory go undefeated during the 2025 regular season. Believe it or not, there were odds posted for the Spartans and it would pay out a huge profit should it somehow hit. Michigan State football going undefeated is listed at +23000 on FanDuel. This means if you were to bet $100 and it hit, you'd walk away with $23,000. That's quite the payday -- which of course would mean quite the unthinkable would have to happen. Michigan State comes into this season with a win total over/under of 5.5 so the oddsmakers clearly think the Spartans are more of a fringe bowl team than a National Championship contender. To no surprise, I would agree with those oddsmakers and wouldn't recommend putting actual faith in taking this bet, but hey, anything is possible I suppose. Michigan State will kickoff the 2025 season on Friday, August 29 against Western Michigan. The season-opener against the Broncos is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will be televised on FS1. Michigan State's Kaleb Glenn out for 2025-26 season
June 20 - Michigan State forward Kaleb Glenn will miss the 2025-26 season after tearing his patellar tendon. Glenn, Michigan State's top-rated incoming transfer, reportedly suffered the injury during a non-contact shooting drill. The Florida Atlantic transfer was scheduled to have surgery on his right knee on Thursday. The 6-foot-7 Glenn averaged 12.6 points and 4.8 rebounds with a 53.1 field goal percentage for FAU last season as the team's leading scorer. One of three incoming transfers to the Spartans' 2025-26 team, Glenn ranked as the No. 15 small forward and the No. 81 overall player in the transfer portal. The Louisville, Ky. native was also a second-team All-American Athletic Conference honoree. Glenn transferred to Michigan State in April and will now have to redshirt for the upcoming season. He has two more years of eligibility. "I feel terrible for Kaleb and for his family, but we will be with them throughout this process," Michigan State coach Tom Izzo said in a statement. "It's awful that this happened just a couple of weeks after he got here in East Lansing and was working out with the guys and getting to know them. "In just a short time with us since he committed, we have really enjoyed having him and his family as part of our program. We're going to do everything that we can to support him and get him back on the floor." --Field Level Media

MSU priority target, 3-star RB Jamal Rule to announce commitment 'soon'
MSU priority target, 3-star RB Jamal Rule to announce commitment 'soon' Michigan State football's top priority at running back announced on Thursday that he will be making his college decision "soon." Jamal Rule of Charlotte is nearing a decision with a commitment apparently coming very soon for him. Rule posted on social media X on Thursday that his decision will be coming soon but did not reveal an exact date or time for his planned commitment. Rule also revealed in the social media post that he will be deciding between Michigan State, Nebraska, Virginia Tech and Syracuse. Rule is a three-star running back in the 2026 class. He holds a recruiting rating of 87.26 and ranks as the No. 47 running back in 247Sports' composite rankings. Rule is set to take an official visit to Michigan State this upcoming weekend. It is the last of his scheduled official visits, with Rule already making stops at Nebraska, Virginia Tech and Syracuse over the last few weeks. Michigan State only recently entered the mix on Rule, offering him a scholarship last week. The Spartans, though, have quickly shot up his recruiting board and are firmly in the mix to land his commitment. He is the primary running back target for Michigan State at this point. BTN analyst says prepare for a 'different', more versatile Coen Carr this upcoming season
BTN analyst says prepare for a 'different', more versatile Coen Carr this upcoming season "We will see a different Coen Carr this season. It could get scary if that ball handling has improved like his jumper." Carson Cooper told me Monday that we will see a different Coen Carr this season. It could get scary if that ball handling has improved like his jumper. 🫣🤯 — Rapheal Davis (@RaphealDavis3) June 19, 2025 One Big Ten hoops analyst has reportedly heard it's time to prepare for a "different" Coen Carr this upcoming season. If you follow Michigan State basketball (or really college basketball as a whole), you know that Carr can throw down some of the best dunks out there and has pure incredible unmatched athletic ability. However, the focus to improve his shooting and ball handling has apparently been on display this offseason, with Rapheal Davis of the Big Ten Network recently saying he's heard positive things around this part of his game. According to Davis, he said he has recently heard from Carr's Spartan teammate Carson Cooper "that we will see a different Coen Carr this season." Davis went on to add that "it could get scary if that ball handling has improved like (Carr's) jumper." These statements from Davis were posted on social media platform X after quote tweeting a highlight post of Carr during what appears to be offseason workouts. You can see the full post from Davis and the accompanying highlights below: Carr showed significant improvements in his all-around game this past season, jumping from 3.1 points to 8.1 points and 1.8 rebounds to 3.6 rebounds per game from his freshman to his sophomore season. It was clear early in the season that Carr was no longer just a highlight-generator and more of a complete basketball player at the Big Ten level. Carr is expected to be one of the top players on the Spartans' squad next year, and his need to meet those expectations only grew this week with the news of Kaleb Glenn's injury. If Carr can truly take the next step with his ball handling and outside shooting, then he will be an All-Big Ten selection next year. I'm very confident in that statement, and hearing this kind of feedback about Carr's growth excites me for what's to come this upcoming season.
