Heartbreaking new detail about TV presenter Jesse Baird after alleged murder of couple by Beau Lamarre-Condon
Heartbreaking new details have emerged about the promising life and career of TV presenter Jesse Baird, who was allegedly murdered alongside his partner Luke Davies by his ex-boyfriend, former NSW Police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon.
The tragedy unfolded in February 2024, when Jesse Baird and Luke Davies were allegedly shot dead at Mr Baird's home in Paddington in Sydney's eastern suburbs.
The case quickly became a media sensation, not only due to the high-profile nature of the victims but also because the accused, Beau Lamarre-Condon, was a serving NSW Police officer at the time of the alleged crimes.
Police were alerted to the possibility of foul play after possessions belonging to Jesse and Luke were discovered in a skip bin in Cronulla, prompting a search that led investigators to Baird's blood-stained terrace in Paddington. The discovery sent shockwaves through Sydney's close-knit entertainment and LGBTQ+ communities, where Jesse was well known and highly regarded.
Before his death, Baird, 26, had just accepted a coveted role as a producer on the reality series The Real Housewives of Sydney ahead of its third season and was due to start in March 2024, according to

'He had just signed on in January,' said Baird's close friend and former colleague, showbiz reporter Craig Bennett. 'He was ever so excited about it because he loved the show.'
Baird's television career included presenting and reporting roles on Network 10's Studio 10, Totally Wild, and Gamify, as well as work as an AFL goal umpire. 'He'd been let go by Network 10 when Studio 10 was axed in November 2023, but Jesse was great on camera and an accomplished producer,' Bennett explained. 'He was immeasurably excited about this new frontier on Housewives. He never got to see that dream realised. He would have gone a long way in reality television.'
Friends recalled Baird's warmth and professionalism, with Bennett joking that after working with stars like Denise Drysdale, handling the cast of The Real Housewives of Sydney would have been a breeze.
Former NSW Police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon was charged with two counts of murder and one count of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence. Lamarre-Condon was dismissed from the NSW Police Force in March 2024 and has spent more than a year in custody awaiting trial.
Lamarre-Condon became a police officer in 2019 after running a celebrity blog, where he was photographed with numerous high-profile stars such as Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, and Harry Styles.
He is scheduled to make his next court appearance via audiovisual link on June 17.

Woman killed in alleged hit-and-run in North Lambton, Newcastle
The hunt continues for a teenage driver and passenger who fled the scene of a horror crash in Newcastle that left one woman dead and seriously injured another. Police have now revealed in a tragic update that the surviving woman was pregnant and has since lost her unborn child. The two women were travelling in a Hyundai sedan that collided with a Holden Commodore at the intersection of Newcastle Rd and Arthur St in North Lambton just after 2.40am on Sunday, NSW Police say. Officers had earlier spotted the Holden allegedly being driven dangerously, but did not pursue it due to safety concerns. The passenger of the Hyundai, a woman believed to be aged 55, died at the scene. She has not yet been formally identified. The driver of the Hyundai, a 28-year-old woman, was rushed to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition after being treated at the scene by paramedics. 'Police have since been informed that the woman was 25 weeks' pregnant and has subsequently lost her unborn child,' a NSW Police statement read. The driver and a passengerof the Holden fled the scene before police arrived, leaving behind two teenage girls in the back seat of the vehicle. Both teens, aged 15 and 17, were taken to hospital under police guard. They both remain in serious conditions, police said. Newcastle Rd was closed eastbound following the crash as police established a crime scene. A critical incident investigation is now under way to determine the circumstances leading up to the collision. Police wish to speak to a man in the area at the time of the incident, who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries. He is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance and is believed to be in his late teens, about 165cm tall with a thin build, with brown hair and brown eyes. 'Police are actively making inquiries to locate him and urge anyone with relevant footage or information to come forward,' the statement read. They also wish to speak to a 17-year-old girl, who police believe was sitting in the front seat of the vehicle. Police are urging anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward. The Project co-host Waleed Aly: ‘I thought about Peter Dutton'
In the wake of Waleed Aly's emotional departure from The Project, he has opened up on how he feels about the show's cancellation, working with Carrie Bickmore and Peter Helliar — and what comes next. 'The word jungle has been mentioned,' Aly told Stellar. 'Obviously I can't tell the future, but I have no intention of doing that. There are lots of other things I'll have to think about as well. 'That's actually been the strangest thing. Even in my private life, people are kind of like, 'Hey, do you want to do this?' And I'm like, 'I don't know. I actually have no idea…' Because I don't know if I'm available in July next year.' Aly, who has co-hosted the news program for a decade alongside the likes of Bickmore, Helliar, Tommy Little and Lisa Wilkinson, also spoke about the moment he learnt The Project would wrap its nearly 16-year run on Network 10 from Friday June 27.
