TNT keeps its grand slam dream alive by eliminating the last franchise to do it.
This after the Tropang 5G escaped Magnolia in another one-point game as it eked out a nail-biting 80-79 win in the do-or-die quarterfinals of PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup on Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
TNT, which also survived via one-point getaway last game, is now through to the semifinals and will take on either Rain or Shine or NLEX as it guns for a grand slam feat.

June Mar Fajardo may be on his way to another Best Player of the Conference award as he led the statistical points race of the PBA Philippine Cup at the end of the elimination round. San Miguel's Fajardo had 40.4 average statistical points (SPs) to lead the race as he averaged 17.5 points, 13.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. His teammate CJ Perez placed second with 38.5 SPs, while Robert Bolick of NLEX finished third with 37.6 SPs. At close fourth is Magnolia's Zav Lucero (37.3 SPs), while Jason Perkins of the Phoenix Fuel Masters (35.5 SPs) and TNT's Calvin Oftana (35.4) followed suit. Should Fajardo be named as the Best Player of the Conference, it will be his 12th overall.
