Triumph 400, KTM 390 Duke Get 10-Year Warranty, Restrictions Apply
Bajaj has now presented a 10-year warranty for the Triumph 400s and the KTM 390 Duke in India. Looking at the market trends, most sub-500cc Bajaj models come with a 2-year or 3-year warranty. However, Bajaj has announced a new 10-year warranty, keeping in mind a seamless driving and service experience for its customers. Though there are selected models that get the decade-long warranty, they include the Triumph Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Speed T4, the recently launched Scrambler 400 XC, and the KTM 390 Duke.

It must be noted that Bajaj manufactures the entry-level Triumph and KTM bikes in the country. Also, the Indian two-wheeler brand looks after the sales and after-sales responsibility for Triumph and KTM in India. Earlier, the Triumph 400 series and the KTM 390 Duke used to get a 5-year standard warranty. However, with the new policy, prospective customers can avail an extended 5-year warranty without extra costs. But here's a catch- the extended warranty is only valid till 30th June 2025.
The Triumph 400 series gets a 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It gives out 31 hp and 36 Nm of peak torque for the Speed T4. However, the same engine churns out a peak power and torque output of 40 hp and 37.5 Nm, respectively, for the Speed 400, Scrambler 400X, and Scrambler 400XC.
Triumph 400s get a 10-year warranty
The KTM 390 Duke has a 399cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that works in conjunction with a six-speed gearbox and propels a peak power and torque output of 46 hp and 39 Nm, respectively.
The prices of the KTM 390 Duke start from Rs 2.97 lakh (ex-showroom). Whereas, the price of the most affordable motorcycle in Triumph's 400cc lineup- the Speed T4 starts from Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

JDA to construct 71 sector roads
Jaipur: With city roads deteriorating due to potholes, craters, and uneven surfaces, the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) has decided to construct 71 sector roads under its annual road maintenance programme. Though these roads were part of the Master Plan 2025, the JDA had been unable to execute them earlier due to various delays. Now, a portion of the road maintenance fund will be allocated for their construction. "We have four categories of sector roads – A, B, C, and D. Out of 226 proposed A and B category roads in the Master Plan, 71 will now be developed. The civic body has already granted administrative and financial approval of Rs 454 crore for the project," a senior JDA official said. During the previous Congress govt, sector roads were prioritised by category, with 'A' being the most critical. A JDA engineer added that these 71 roads were selected based on future traffic needs and planned settlements along both sides. "Several rounds of discussions were held between zone deputy commissioners and zonal engineers to finalise the list of sector roads. We also considered the availability of land and the number of encroachments to be removed before selection. Hopefully, construction will proceed smoothly," said a JDA engineer. Officials confirmed that out of the 71 sector roads, six will be developed near Niwaru Road and Govindpura, 13 near Muralipura, nine in Mansarovar and Bhankrota, two near Delhi and Agra Roads, and 16 in the Vartika area. "Tenders have already been floated for some of them," an official added.

Bengaluru's auto drivers fined for fleecing, other violations
Bengaluru: Close on the heels of the ban on bike-taxi services, Bengalureans complained about rising incidents of "autocracy" with several incidents of autorickshaw drivers fleecing the commuters with faulty meters. Cracking the whip on such errant drivers, Bengaluru Traffic Police booked over 1,000 cases Saturday and collected Rs 4.9 lakh in fine from autorickshaws and other traffic violators in the west division. Based on the commuters' ordeal, TOI published a report on traffic violations in its June 20 edition. During the day-long drive against errant autorickshaw drivers in and around Majestic, Ananda Rao Circle, KSR Railway Station, MG Road, Church Street, Cubbon Park and surrounding areas, 180 cases were booked under various sections of the Indian Motor Vehicles (IMV) Act and fine worth Rs 89,700 was collected. The highest number of cases (84) was booked against auto drivers not wearing the khaki uniform, resulting in a fine of Rs 42,000. Similarly, 52 cases were booked against those demanding excess fare and Rs 21,600 was collected in fine. As many as 44 auto drivers were booked for refusing to go for hire and a fine worth Rs 21,600 was collected, according to BTP officials. Apart from this, the BTP officials have also booked 216 cases of violation of parking rules and collected Rs 87,500 in fine from the offenders. Traffic cops in plainclothes hired autorickshaws to various destinations of the city from the Majestic area and the drivers were caught demanding money above the meter charge. "An auto ride between Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Metro Station in Majestic and Freedom Park would normally cost Rs 50. But Saturday, auto drivers charged Rs 75-100. Similarly, the RTO officials must also verify the authenticity of the meters in all autorickshaws," explained a senior traffic police inspector.

HSRP mandatory for vehicle ownership transfer, says RTO
Nashik: Vehicle owners without high security registration plates (HSRP) may face restrictions in conducting Regional Transport Office (RTO) related activities, as the RTO has established HSRP registration as a prerequisite for certain services. For vehicles registered before April 2019, HSRPs have been made compulsory, with a compliance deadline of June 2025. The implementation in Nashik has received limited participation. "There are an estimated 10 lakh vehicles registered before April 2019. As of now, around 1.4 lakh vehicles registered for the HSRPs, out of which close to 1 lakh motorists have fixed them. The work of fixing these number plates is underway at the authorised centres spread across the 10 talukas in the jurisdiction of our office," said Rajashree Gund, the deputy RTO of Nashik. The online registration system has not garnered sufficient response. Consequently, the RTO has decided to withhold processing certain applications unless the vehicle owner has either installed HSRP or completed online registration.
