ECoR to operate 365 special trains for Rath Yatra
Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Sunday announced comprehensive arrangements for the Rath Yatra in Puri, with plans to operate a record 365 special trains. This marks an increase from the 315 operated during Rath Yatra last year.
The special train services will connect Puri to various parts of Odisha and neighbouring states, ensuring smooth travel for pilgrims and visitors. The extensive network will cover Rourkela, Biramitrapur, Bangiriposi, Junagarh Road, Sambalpur, Angul and Cuttack. The services will also extend to key destinations in neighbouring states, including Visakhapatnam and Palasa in Andhra Pradesh, Jagadalpur and Gondia in Chhattisgarh, and Santragachhi in West Bengal.
Special emphasis has been placed on major festival days, including Gundicha Yatra, Sandhya Darshan, Bahuda Yatra and Suna Besha. Railways have planned dedicated services from remote and interior districts to ensure maximum accessibility for devotees.
"The comprehensive rail connectivity will significantly ease travel for pilgrims, particularly those from remote areas," said an ECoR spokesperson. "We are committed to providing safe, comfortable and efficient travel facilities during Odisha's most celebrated spiritual festival."

3 pilgrims dead, 1 missing after landslides hit Char Dham routes
1 2 3 4 5 Dehradun/Uttarkashi: Three pilgrims died, one was missing, and three others sustained injuries after separate landslides struck the Yamunotri and Badrinath routes in Uttarakhand on Monday following heavy rainfall that disrupted Char Dham pilgrimage movement. A landslide hit the Yamunotri route around 4pm at Nau Kainchi near Bhairav temple, about 1.5 km from the shrine. Large boulders crashed onto the pedestrian path, damaging railings, and trapped several pilgrims. Teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and local police rushed to the site, with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel joining later in the evening. Rasik, a pilgrim from Mumbai, was rescued from under debris with injuries and admitted to the primary health centre at Jankichatti. His condition was reported to be stable. Based on Rasik's statement, two pilgrims — a 12-year-old girl named Bhavika from Delhi and another male pilgrim — had gone missing, of whom one body was recovered later. Search operations are underway. Rescuers later found the body of a teenage girl and another unidentified person – the body so mutilated that even its gender could not be ascertained. On Monday morning, falling boulders struck a moving car near the Patalganga tunnel on the Badrinath highway in Chamoli district, killing a woman and injuring two others, including a child. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The family from Fatehabad, Haryana, was returning from Badrinath when the accident occurred. Inspector Karn Singh from the SDRF led the rescue along with local police. An SDRF official said, "The area has witnessed several rockfall incidents recently, so travellers must remain cautious." Landslides and falling boulders blocked the Badrinath National Highway (NH-54) near Pipalkoti for over six hours on Monday morning. Authorities cleared the road by afternoon, reopening it to one-way traffic as stabilisation work continued. Chamoli tehsil recorded the district's highest rainfall at 93.66 mm, significantly raising the risk of landslides. The highway saw two blockages within 24 hours. Two tourists from Hyderabad, aged 36 and 50, died on Saturday when boulders fell on their motorcycle near Chatwapeepal, between Gauchar and Karnaprayag.

How to Unlock Fast Travel in Death Stranding 2
Image via: Kojima Productions In Death Stranding 2, the act of traveling is not just what gets you from point A to point B, but a meditative adventure in itself. When reuniting the disbanded country, wandering through lonely, melancholic yet spectacular vistas is the biggest part of the game's emotional cadence. When your mission takes you halfway across the continent to pick up cargo that was misplaced, the fun of the journey on foot gets old really fast. This is where fast travel becomes available, though like much in Kojima's apocalyptic world, you'll need to work for it. When will it be available Fast Travel, unlike many features in new games today, isn't available to you immediately on your map screen. Rather than weaving skill checks into your missions, it's a kind of reward linked to your advancement in the narrative. More particularly, fast travel doesn't unlock until after finishing Order 12, which culminates in a nerve-racking boss encounter against an enormous mech BT monster. This confrontation represents an exciting turn in the game's story and expansive gameplay direction. After this massive challenge is overcome, you'll find yourself back in a Private Room, where you can finally get some well-deserved sleep. It's in this interlude that the game quietly teaches you, as only it can through one of its trademark dreamlike montages, that fast travel has come at your disposal. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cuối cùng, chơi miễn phí game chiến thuật hay nhất 2025! Sea of Conquest Phát ngay Undo There's no confusing checklist, side quest, or upgrade path to find and unlock one. In stark contrast to that are the fast travel mechanics, which are incredibly linear and directly tied to your progress through the story. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Review How to use Fast Travel Once unlocked, using fast travel is refreshingly simple. Once inside the Private Room, find your first 'Magellan' interface—an advanced piece of equipment that allows for instantaneous travel between friendly installations. On your in-game map, choose a location that you have already visited and that is connected to the Chiral Network, and enter the game's fast travel system by using the option that will appear in the top right corner of the in-game map screen. Traveling quickly only becomes an option between previously-owned cities. This is to protect the integrity of Death Stranding's core philosophy: traversal as storytelling. The game invites you to roam, to toil, to experience the toll of distance. Fast travel doesn't eliminate that. It honors your journey while providing an expedient hand. The Magellan trade-off Undoubtedly the most intriguing part of fast travel in Death Stranding 2 is its Magellan system, an elegant narrative device that well, it's not without drawbacks. You need to not be actively doing a delivery mission. If you are, you'll either need to cancel or finish your existing jump before starting a jump. Before you can embark, the system checks your expedition rank and mission rank, keeping the game's focus on investment and impact even on this small level. Why Death Stranding 2 is the The Most Important Game You'll Play This Year It's not true that all places are created the same. You can only fast travel to facilities that are registered as 'safe zones' and already within your expanded Chiral Network. In doing so, this limitation not only caps the feature but double downs on the importance of expanding the network on your own. For each game's release, Kojima's works frequently teeter precariously between philosophical profundity and gameplay utility. The approach to fast travel in Death Stranding 2 is a perfect example of walking that line. It never undermines the game's contemplative mood, respects the player's time. You'll still rack up a lot of time ferrying important cargo through a perilous country. When you've made the deliveries to deserve a skip, fast travel is waiting to help get you back in action with intent.
