Pirate's Voyage Dinner & Show construction update
BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – Tickets for the first show at the new Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show went on sale two weeks ago. So what's new with the construction?
Pirate's Voyage management says everything is on schedule for the June 1st opening. They're hoping it may be completed even earlier.
Pirate's Voyage construction progresses in Panama City Beach
The main marque sign is up along Back Beach Road. Workers are reinforcing the attraction's main feature, Buccaneer Bay Lagoon. It is a 15-foot deep, 600-thousand-gallon water stage where all of the battles between two pirate ships will take place.
'Behind us, what you're seeing is that we have several different levels as that concrete is getting ready to be poured, which provides kind of what we call the skin of the lagoon. And it's being reinforced with two different layers of steel,' Pirate's Voyage PR Manager Ellen Liston said.
Once it's reinforced, the lagoon will be ready for water. Liston says they're taking applications for cast members right now.
In late March, the attraction is hosting a job fair to fill some of the other 300 positions available, like kitchen and wait staff, hosts, and others. You can find the link to apply, here.
