This restored version includes the original conclusion, in which Thakur kills Gabbar Singh. This was removed from the theatrical cut by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and some never-before-seen deleted scenes.

Directed by Ramesh Sippy, the film was released in 1975 and gained the title of a cult classic and left an indelible mark. The main plot of the film revolves around Jai and Veeru, two petty criminals hired by former police officer Thakur Baldev Singh to capture the dacoit Gabbar Singh, who terrorised Thakur's village and family. Don
It was Amitabh Bachchan who gave us the iconic dialogue 'Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi, namumkin hai.'
