Millions of Freeview watchers hit by big Channel 4 change and must re-scan TV boxes to keep popular channel

MILLIONS of Freeview watchers have been hit by a big channel change as viewers are urged to re-scan their TV boxes. Channel 4 has boosted Freeview coverage for one of its channels this month, meaning you'll need to retune to continue watching. As part of Freeview's monthly channel update, 4seven transitioned to a new frequency as of Wednesday 18 June. This is because of an important technical change to the way the Channel 4 offshoot channel is broadcast on Freeview. It will give more Freeview users access to the channel at a time when 4seven is increasingly used as an overspill for live events. 4seven has recently become the home of a selected number of men's European Championship U21 games, including Netherlands v Ukraine and Slovenia v Czechia. They have previously broadcast coverage of the Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies. But for the time being, 4seven is broadcasting on both new and old frequencies. At the end of this transition period, the old copy of 4seven will carry a retune caption. But you can retune today to ensure continued reception of 4seven on channel 49. Following your retune, you should see 4seven on channel 49 and the old copy of 4seven on channel 790. What's better is the channel now has universal coverage on Freeview. It's now available to all viewers in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man in addition to UK viewers who can only receive a reduce Freeview channel line-up. If you're a viewer who only receives around 20 basic Freeview channels at your address, you can retune to add 4seven to channel 49. It's a big bonus to some viewers as some remote locations with reduced access to Freeview are also affected by poor internet speeds meaning they can't stream TV either. This follows a reconfiguration of the frequency that carries the main Channel 4 service on Freeview, meaning the 4seven signal can now be aired alongside its parent channel. Kay Burley joins This Morning in TV return after departure from Sky News It's not the only Freeview change seen this month either. Just last week it was announced that Rewind TV is now on channel 81. It has swapped places with Blaze +1 and is now the next-door channel to the vintage Talking Pictures channel. There's also a new shopping channel with Must Have Ideas setting up shop on channel 96. The service was previously exclusive to satellite TV such as Sky and on YouTube but a retune will now add the channel to your service. Millions of Freeview watchers can also enjoy three new channels this month. Starting from this week, viewers will be able to tune into a number of channels including ITV Quiz, a fresh channel dedicated to quizzes.

JJ Slater feeling ‘insecure' as Katie Price blasted over being ‘disrespectful'

As Katie Price faces backlash for partying with celebs in Ibiza, a source says that her antics will be tough on her boyfriend JJ Slater - and fans urge him to 'dump her' Katie Price' s outrageous bikini-clad antics in Ibiza have sparked calls for her reality star boyfriend John 'JJ' Slater to dump her. The 47-year-old let her hair down last week on a wild trip to the party island, where she was snapped cosying up to a number of shirtless men – including some very famous faces. And her behaviour didn't go down well back home, with Katie accused of being 'disrespectful' towards Married At First Sight UK hunk JJ, 32, who she started dating early last year. However, despite the flood of negative comments, a source tells OK! the warnings will fall on deaf ears and that 'Katie is just being Katie'. ‌ ‌ 'She can't help but flirt and cosy up to people – it's the life she's always led,' said our source. 'She thinks it's all just a bit of innocent flirting because she's a very loud and larger than life character, but for her boyfriends it's another thing. 'Seeing your girlfriend in a tiny bikini surrounded by a load of topless men is bound to make anyone feel a bit insecure, and JJ is no exception. He's put up with a lot and it's not easy dating someone as famous as Katie. It's not nice for him to see the photos. 'He's aware of what people are saying and he tries to ignore the comments, but it's not easy.' The former glamour model – who was joined for part of the trip by her son Junior Andre, 20 – was snapped partying with former UFC champion Conor McGregor, EastEnders star Dean Gaffney and night club boss Wayne Lineker, owner of the island's famous O Beach club. Her social media posts quickly attracted a slew of critical comments from fans expressing their shock, with many of them calling on JJ – who previously dated his MAFS co-star Ella Morgan – to 'dump her' over her disrespectful behaviour. ‌ 'I am in a long-term relationship and out of respect for my partner I wouldn't pose like this with another man,' one follower wrote. Another demanded, 'How can you pose with men like this when having a so-called partner back home?' Other comments included, 'I'd dump her if I was JJ, she's just rubbing his nose in it', and 'JJ should dump her.' Katie got together with JJ in early 2024, a few months after she split from her ex-fiancé Carl Woods, 36. She recently described JJ as 'the most kindest, genuine, easygoing, chilled person'. But she admitted she still didn't feel free or at her 'happiest'. ‌ 'It's not a reflection on him, maybe that's what I need to change for myself,' she told Celebs Go Dating's relationship guru Paul C Brunson on his We Need To Talk podcast. Katie has often said that men have been her biggest 'downfall', and once admitted she sought out 'neediness' and ended up in 'toxic relationships'. ‌ As well as her failed marriages to Peter Andre, Alex Reid and Kieran Hayler, Katie has a string of other famous exes, including footballers Dwight Yorke and Teddy Sheringham, and rugby player Danny Cipriani. She dated her most recent ex, Carl, for three years. He recently accused her of being unfaithful, claiming she cheated on him multiple times and that he'd caught her messaging several footballers, including a 'very famous' England star. However, Katie's camp hit back, describing him as 'another ex cashing in on Kate'. ‌ The star flew out to sunny Spain shortly after having her Brazilian bum lift topped up. Dressed in a bikini, two bloodied plasters on the injection sites were visible on her buttocks. But it was the photos of Katie with UFC legend Conor, 36, and footie icon Gary Lineker 's brother Wayne, 63, that created the biggest furore. According to our source, while JJ trusts Katie and knows she's happy with him, he's not immune to feeling insecure over her antics. 'While JJ is a really patient man, everyone has their limits,' the source said. 'He's been there for her through all her surgeries, her bankruptcy hearings, helping with Harvey, so he wants to feel like a priority, not a spare part. 'He knows that she loves him and that she appreciates that he treats her differently to some of her exes, so he works hard to not let it get to him. And he knows that at the end of the day, it's him she comes home to.'

Celebrity Gogglebox viewers criticise 'dire' Channel 4 show

The show sees celebrity pairings react to TV programmes that have aired during the prior week. This is in comparison to the regular version of Gogglebox, where a selection of different families and friends from around the UK do the same. Last night's episode (Friday, June 20) saw the celebrities offer their observations on shows such as Clarkson's Farm, Love Island, Coronation Street, Countdown and Tom Kerridge Secrets Of The Pub Kitchen. A post shared by Gogglebox (@c4gogglebox) The pairings included singer Rag'n'Bone Man alongside comedian Romesh Ranganathan, comedians Joe Wilkinson and Roisin Conaty and actor James Buckley alongside his wife Clair. While plenty of viewers reacting to the show on X (formerly known as Twitter) enjoyed the episode, some weren't so pleased. Some fans weren't particulatly happy watching last night's episode, comparing it negatively to the original version. One said: "Totally unfunny celebrities on #gogglebox. Just people watching telly just isn't the same as normal Gogglebox. Cant wait for normal families. The funny ones." Another shared: "Even though there are a few couples on Celebrity Gogglebox who are quite funny, it's not as good as the "normal" one." A third posted: "I love Gogglebox but Celebrity Gogglebox is just dire." However, some people were a bit more favourable to the episode, with some of the pairings getting plenty of praise. Joe Wilkinson in particular had a lot of compliments, with one saying: "Joe Wilkinson makes me laugh before he's even opened his mouth. He dosnt even try but is funny."
