
Valedictory session held to mark the completion of inaugural batch of EPBM course at IIMV
A valedictory session was held on Sunday to mark the completion of the inaugural batch of 12-month Executive Programme in Business Management (EPBM) at the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV).
The programme, tailored for mid to senior level professionals, saw the participation of 81 corporate executives representing diverse industries from across the country, with the average work experience of the cohort being an impressive 15 years.
Addressing the participants, Programme Director Sushil Kumar said, 'The ultimate objective of such programmes is sustained professional performance. The EPBM was designed keeping in mind the conceptual dilemmas and real-world challenges faced by today's business leaders.'
The programme consisted of a wide range of critical subjects, including general management, strategic thinking, finance, business communication, design thinking, AI, and more.
The participants shared personal reflections on the course and expressed appreciation for the knowledge gained, the insightful interactions with faculty, and the vibrant peer learning environment. One participant said, 'I am walking out with a new mindset,' while another added, 'The programme helped immensely in upskilling and adding real value.' While a businessperson said, 'As an entrepreneur, I knew how to do business but by the end of this programme, I now know how to do it systematically.'
Delivering the valedictory address, IIM Visakhapatnam Director M. Chandrasekhar congratulated the participants and emphasised the importance of the core values of humility, honesty, harmony, and humanity. He urged the cohort to nurture a constant hunger for learning, noting that excellence was a moving target that requires continuous effort. He stressed that in today's dynamic business environment, success hinges not only on managing resources effectively but also on managing relationships. Programmes like the EPBM, he said, offer professionals a valuable degree of control over the future, equipping them with the mindset and tools needed to lead.
Programme Co-Director Amit Shankar extended a vote of thanks. A special highlight of the session was the appreciation of the top three capstone projects, showcasing innovative and impactful ideas developed during the programme.

Delhi Metro achieves tunnelling breakthrough on Golden Line corridor
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has achieved a major construction milestone with a successful tunnelling breakthrough at Tughlakabad Railway Colony station on the upcoming Golden Line, part of Phase 4 of the metro to a DMRC statement, the tunnel connects Maa Anandmayee Marg to Tughlakabad Railway Colony on the Tughlakabad-Aerocity corridor. DMRC said the tunnel, located at an average depth of 18 metres, is one of two parallel tunnels being built for up and down movement on the corridor. The breakthrough on the second tunnel is expected by July 2025.A total of 566 tunnel rings, each with an inner diameter of 5.8 metres, were installed using the Earth Pressure Balancing Method (EPBM), the statement said.
