Jonathan Kuminga has grown into a very divisive figure for the Golden State Warriors and their fans. You're either helping to pack his bags away from the team or believe the proper opportunity has not been given to the four-year pro.

Kuminga failed to take a significant leap in the 2024-25 regular season. The Warriors forward actually regressed in a couple of notable statistical categories.
His points per game (15.3), rebounds per game (4.6), field goal percentage (45.4), and 3-point percentage (30.5) all dipped from last season. The question that will divide most on Kuminga is where the fault is with that.
Is the Warriors youngster to blame, or has he not been developed properly by Steve Kerr and the coaching staff? There were some signs of promise late in the season.
In the four full games that Stephen Curry missed against the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2025 NBA Playoffs, Kuminga averaged 24.3 points per game off the bench. This had one former Warriors star turn into a bit of a believer.

In an exclusive interview with Basketball Insiders, Baron Davis told D.J. Siddiqi his clear opinion of Kuminga.

"We saw in the playoffs he's someone that they need in addition to Jimmy [Butler],' Davis said. 'We'll see what happens this offseason, but Kuminga could be an integral piece coming back. There's a need and a place and he's ready to take that next step.
The former Warriors guard added: 'I thought these playoffs gave him a good opportunity to showcase his skills. I like Kuminga's game and I think if he comes at that level that they need him to be at, he's ultimately another one of those key pieces that could potentially put them over the hump.'
It will only be about a month or so until Warriors fans will see what their franchise's opinion of the young forward is.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Michael Olise fired Bayern Munich into the knockout stages of the Club World Cup, scoring in the 84th minute for a 2-1 win over Boca Juniors on Friday night. Argentine giant Boca, which plays Auckland City, needs Bayern to beat Benfica to have any chance of advancing to the next round. Tyler Soderstrom singled leading off the second and two straight fielding errors by José Ramírez at third loaded the bases. Lawrence Butler singled for a 3-0 lead.
