Airbnb Inc (ABNB) Comes From An 'Era' Of Winners, Says Jim Cramer

Airbnb Inc (NASDAQ:ABNB) is a hospitality provider whose shares are up by a modest 3% year-to-date. The stock has suffered amidst a selloff in the broader travel industry due to economic concerns. Cramer has called the selloff the end of a 'travel bull market' and bemoaned the end of one sector that had performed well in 2025's early months. Since their February peak, Airbnb Inc (NASDAQ:ABNB)'s shares have lost 16%. Cramer's previous comments about the stock have speculated that the dip is part of a self-fulfilling prophecy which means that people start selling once they start believing a stock will fall. His latest remarks were quite upbeat:
'But these . . .companies, along with . . .AirBnB, they came from a particular era of IPO. Of winners. And these are all ones I'd buy.'
Cramer discussed Airbnb Inc (NASDAQ:ABNB) in detail after the firm's Q1 earnings. Here's what he said:
'One of the things that came up on the AirBnb call last night, we'll see that stock down, is that travel bull market over. I mean we know Booking's didn't have a perfect number.
A vacation home luxury bedroom setup with stunning decor showing a desired getaway experience.
'I just think that the issue with AirBnb is just that as long as hotels are very expensive, then you go AirBnb. Brian's gotta stick to that script. And I like him so much I'm joking about obviously, but he does have this kind of bent about him to find the negatives. I would have come up with the other, which is that boy I'll tell you, if we do have a slowdown, remember how well we do. And remember even in COVID people used to go from one place to another. My daughter she was teaching English in Spain. On the weekends, she would go from one part of Spain to another cause that's what you did! That's gonna come back. Brian's gotta get a little more positive.'

Where to go for a beginner's gravel-biking adventure in Scotland

This article was produced by National Geographic Traveller (UK). Galloway is a bit of Scotland that's often overlooked by visitors. Across the border from England, this southwestern region (officially Dumfries and Galloway) is often bypassed in the rush north: to Glasgow, Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, and the Highlands. Yet, the place couldn't be more Scottish. This was the stomping ground of Robert the Bruce and William Wallace. Its wee towns are practical and unfussy, and there are castles left over from the English wars. The scenery — mountains ballooning from heather moors, swathes of pine forest, streams where otters tumble — has grandeur, sweep and romance. Put it all together, and it's no surprise the area has caught the eye of travellers on gravel bikes, an increasingly popular form of cycling. Gravel biking involves rugged hybrid bikes that can withstand both dirt tracks and asphalt, marrying the experience of mountain biking with the freedom of road cycling. Photograph by Getty Images, Andrew Bret Wallis The experience Gravel biking represents a middle way between two niche cycling disciplines. It involves rugged hybrid bikes that can hold their own on both dirt tracks and asphalt, marrying the adventure of mountain biking with the freedom of road cycling. That opens up a lot of terrain: on a bike able to tackle paved, gravel and forest tracks, trails are limited only by your imagination. North of the market town of Gatehouse of Fleet in Galloway's south west, Galloway Forest is Britain's largest forest park at over 300sq miles — and it has almost unlimited gravel biking potential. Since 2023, Union Cycliste Internationale, the world governing body for competitive cycling, has held The Gralloch here. This annual gravel race sees around 2,000 cyclists tackling a brutal 70-mile track. Fortunately, amateur riders can pick from less arduous options. One trail from Gatehouse of Fleet follows National Cycle Route 7 to the Cairnsmore of Fleet National Nature Reserve, a tweedy mix of heather, grasses and rowan berries, and the spectacular Big Water of Fleet viaduct (18 miles, there and back). Alternatively, Raiders Road Forest Drive descends from Clatteringshaws Loch, north of Gatehouse of Fleet, through pine trees and between hills, before crossing a viaduct and returning past Loch Grannoch (28 miles). Or for the most scenic route in the area, head from Clatteringshaws into the Dee River valley, then on to the village of Glentrool and back (35 miles). With brooding mountains and lochs the colour of beaten steel, the landscape here is a dead ringer for the Highlands. Scottish poet Robert Burns wrote Scotland's first unofficial anthem, Scots Wha Hae, in this 18th-century coaching inn. Photograph by Willow & Wilde The stay In 1793, Scottish poet Robert Burns wrote Scotland's first unofficial anthem, Scots Wha Hae, in The Murray Arms in Gatehouse of Fleet. The 18th-century coaching inn has improved considerably since his day. Renovated in 2023 by local couple Duncan and Vicki McConchie, it's now prime weekender territory — and a stylish option for travellers looking for a base from which to explore the area's gravel biking routes. There are 14 individually furnished rooms to choose from, with single, double, family and dog-friendly options. The decor is an eclectic mix of rustic and modern — walls painted in inky colours, plants on old milking stools, tartan throws and mountain ranges of cushions arranged on four-posters. The modern Scottish restaurant is excellent, and dishes like Scotch beef and Guinness stew with horseradish mash or coconut and vegetable curry hit the spot after a long day on two wheels. There's a small bar area for a post-ride pint, or put your feet up with a whisky in the snug lounge where Burns wrote his poem. Wilderness England offers the guided, small-group, six-night Galloway and the Lake District gravel biking trip, which includes three days' cycling in Galloway, staying at The Murray Arms. From £2,565 per person, including accommodation, transfers, some meals and bike rental; private tours can also be arranged. Alternatively, rooms at The Murray Arms cost from £160, B&B. Galloway Cycling Holidays rents gravel bikes from £45 day. Published in the June 2025 issue of National Geographic Traveller (UK). West Town home that was once a municipal bathhouse listed for nearly $6M

A six-bedroom, 9,740-square-foot house in West Town's East Village neighborhood that once was a municipal bathhouse for its area was listed on Friday for $5.995 million. Built in the 1910s and known as the Lincoln Bathhouse, the building is one of only four surviving former municipal bathhouse structures in the city. At the peak, the city had numerous bathhouses, which provided public bathing options for low-income immigrants whose dwellings lacked indoor plumbing. The Lincoln Bathhouse continued to operate until the start of 1973, when the Chicago Park District closed it. The initial plan was to tear it down to make way for a playlot. Ultimately, however, the building was preserved and converted to a single-family residence. Like other bathhouses around the city, the Lincoln Bathhouse was constructed in a Roman architectural style. The house sits on an oversized lot and has seven bathrooms, one fireplace, skylights, a massive, light-filled great room with designer lighting and private yard views, a stainless steel kitchen and a lower level with a lounge, a home gym and three en-suite units. Outside on the property are custom pavers, an outdoor kitchen, integrated lighting and a full bar. Listing agent Jennifer Mills Klatt of Jameson Sotheby's International Realty told Elite Street that the house is an 'architecturally significant and unique private residence…it's like a treasure.' 'This was a vital resource to the neighborhood when indoor plumbing was still a luxury. This was not a spa-like bathhouse,' she said. 'Instead, it helped people and it helped families, especially immigrants. And now, it's still an historical landmark, if you will, but it's been transformed into a very chic modern residence. My clients put in quite a bit of money with an incredible renovation and masterfully reimagined this, blending history with their modern vibe. It's a show-stopper.' The house also has an attached garage. Mills Klatt noted that although the house is a single-family residence, it has a business license intact if an owner wanted to use it to host events. What's more, a buyer also could separate the basement guest suites from the rest of the house, as they have their own heating and cooling units, she said, and the property has two active Airbnb licenses for an owner looking for an income-generating opportunity. The current owners paid $2.075 million for the former bathhouse in 2013. The property had a $39,507 property tax bill in the 2023 tax year.

Jackson County to reclassify short-term rentals in new ordinance

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jackson County Executive Frank White Jr. said Wednesday that the county will be implementing a new short-term rental ordinance for tax assessments. Ordinance 5987 provides direction for how short-term rentals are assessed for property taxes. The City of Kansas City defines a short-term rental as 'a dwelling unit or portion thereof for a period of less than 30 consecutive days.' The properties are usually Airbnb or VRBO properties. However, the city excludes lodging or bed and breakfast properties. Supreme Court backs Missouri's ban on gender transitions for children Executive White said the ordinance will ensure properties classified as commercial due to their short-term use will now be classified as residential. just days before the announcement was made. White said in a news release that the ordinance comes as families are being forced out of their properties financially. While the ordinance is a step in the right direction, he said the legislature should continue to look into the issue. Former Chiefs employee sues team for racial discrimination, wrongful termination 'Families are being priced out,' he said. 'Longtime neighbors are being replaced by turnover and disruption, and local governments are left to manage the consequences without the tools they need to address them. 'For these reasons, I respectfully urge the County Legislature to revisit this issue before the 2026 tax year. Additionally, I call on the Missouri General Assembly to act immediately to fix this gap in state law by clearly distinguishing between residents who live in and occasionally rent their homes, and corporations using residential properties to run commercial operations at scale.'
