Britain's Got Talent: Alesha Dixon comments on Ant's suit
During Saturday's live semi-final of Britain's Got Talent, judge Alesha Dixon took a moment to compliment host Ant McPartlin on his stylish ensemble.
As the episode unfolded, Ant, 49, alongside presenting partner Declan Donnelly approached the judging panel consisting of Alesha, 46, Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, and Bruno Tonioli for a chat.

However, the conversation was briefly interrupted as Alesha pointed out Ant's sharp suit, leading the host to share that it was actually from his days hosting Pop Idol, between 2001 and 2003.

Enthusiastic about the revelation, Alesha exclaimed: "We were just admiring your suit by the way, saying how dapper you look!" which prompted Ant to disclose: "Simon, this was a suit from Pop Idol series two! I mean it had to be let out a little bit..."

Pop Idol, a music competition television show formulated by Simon Fuller, graced ITV screens during its 2001 to 2003 run, searching for the UK's top emerging pop talent through public votes.
Ant and Dec presented the show while Simon, 65, featured as one of the judges.
Viewers also took to Twitter, now X, to express their admiration for Ant's suit, as comments poured in such as: "Ant in that velvet suit #BritainsGotTalent!" and another user commenting: "Ant. Mcpartlin. In. VELVET. #bgt."

Tonight's lineup showcases talents including Albert Amores, Bao Cuong, Electric Umbrella, Harry and Lewis, Jasmine Rice, Mickey Callisto, Ping Pong Pang, and RuMac.

Sydnie Christmas, who clinched the title on Britain's Got Talent in 2024, is set to dazzle viewers once again with a stunning performance tonight while the cast of Just For One Day will also perform.

In a significant shake-up, Britain's Got Talent has trimmed its broadcasting schedule, now captivating audiences exclusively on Saturday nights, marking a departure from its previous offering of weekend double bills.
Taking a different approach this year, Britain's Got Talent will broadcast its live semi-finals on a weekly basis, stepping away from the traditional consecutive night shows during May.
ITV's entertainment commissioning editor Lily Wilson explained the rationale behind the revised timetable: "We want to hit that family audience. Starting in February means we can build excitement over a longer period while making the live semi-finals a much bigger event."

Stephen Mulhern's £1m Butlin's role axed in latest career blow for ITV star

Former Butlin's redcoat Stephen Mulhern has lost his lucrative £1m contract with the famous holiday firm. ITV star Stephen Mulhern has been dealt a huge career blow. The presenter has been dropped from his reported £1million gig as the face of Butlins, rounding off a spate of ill fortune with work commitments. Mulhern, 48, hasn't had his contract renewed with the famous family-friendly UK holiday resort chain. As part of the deal he performed magic shows on stage at the firm's centres in Minehead, Bognor Regis and Skegness, but he will not return after the summer season. ‌ A spokesperson confirmed the news and stated that the star, a former redcoat for the legendary firm, had 'enjoyed' his time working with the brand. ‌ The spokesperson told the Mirror: 'Stephen has absolutely loved being part of the Butlin's family - performing his stage shows in front of thousands of holiday makers across the country and the relationship with Butlin's remains hugely positive. "This change allows Stephen to explore new opportunities in the family holiday space – something he's incredibly passionate about." A Butlin's spokesperson added: "Stephen has been an incredible part of the Butlin's experience and continues to be a valued member of the family. Stephen's much-loved live show won't return in 2026 after three fantastic years, but we're thrilled to be working together on ongoing projects this autumn.' Stephen's Butlin's axe was revealed by the Sun, as a source told them: 'Stephen has been a massive hit with holidaymakers. He began his career as a Redcoat and has kept families brilliantly entertained.' The TV magician's role on ITV Dancing On Ice came to an end earlier this year when the show was cancelled. The reality ice skating competition was cancelled due to low ratings, after Stephen had joined Holly Willoughby to host in January. He replaced Phillip Schofield, who was booted from all of his ITV roles after his affair with a younger colleague at This Morning was revealed in 2023. And last year, Stephen's other TV show, In For A Penny, was cancelled after six seasons , though there have been hinted it will return. A source previously told The Sun: "So don't put your pennies away just yet as the team could be popping up in your local town, to challenge even more members of the public to take part in their unique and madcap games in the future." ‌ Stephen also suffered a traumatic time in his personal life last year when his dad passed away. Stephen paid tribute to his late father in a touching moment after his Royal Variety Performance act last December. As the audience applauded his magic tricks, he said: "That was for you dad." The TV host continues to front ITV's Deal for No Deal which was revived in 2023. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Noel Edmonds and what he's really like off-camera, revealed by co-worker

Noel Edmonds and what he's really like off-camera, revealed by co-worker Noel Edmonds' friend and co-star Julie has revealed what the TV favourite is really like off-screen and how he's settled in to life in New Zealand since he moved there in 2019 Noel Edmonds had worked with British expat Julie on his River Haven ineyard (Image: Julie Crook ) A woman who worked alongside Noel Edmonds at his River Haven estate in Ngatimoti, New Zealand, has shared her insight into the television personality's off-screen nature. Following his departure from I'm A Celebrity in 2019, Edmonds relocated to New Zealand, where he purchased the £15m River Haven property. This estate comprises 12 properties, including a pub named The B*gger Inn and his own vineyard. These features will be showcased in an upcoming ITV documentary that follows Edmonds as he builds a new life in New Zealand. ‌ Julie, a British expat living near River Haven, had the opportunity to work with Noel in his vineyard after offering to help with the grape harvest. ‌ The British star moved to New Zealand after his exit from I'm A Celebrity in 2019 (Image: Mike Marsland, WireImagevia Getty Images ) Although their collaboration was filmed for the ITV show, Julie claims that Edmonds' friendly nature was genuine and not just for the cameras, , reports Belfast Live. In an interview with Julie revealed: "He's just the kind of man who goes out of his way. While we were working on the vineyard, he was giving us water and ice pops, and he got to know everybody's name and even when you go to the B**ger Inn for a meal, he'll just come over and just have a chat whether you know him or not, and some Kiwis don't even know that he's a celebrity. "He doesn't shy away from hard work either, he was getting his hands dirty." The British star had bought the property after relocating New Zealand with his wife Liz (Image: ITV ) ‌ Julie has responded to the criticism aimed at Noel over his purchase of River Haven, which has stirred a local and media storm since he moved in, per a report from the Express. She weighed in on the situation, calling his relocation 'great' for driving tourism to Ngatimoti, thanks to his vineyard being located there. Discussing Noel's charitable nature, Julie highlighted his $10,000 contribution towards clearing a local school's debt. ‌ However, she conceded that Noel's particularly British dry wit doesn't always resonate with the locals. Expanding on this, she remarked: "I don't think because they don't get him and as an immigrant from the UK, we have the English banter so I understand it, and Kiwis don't get that sense of humour, and it can come across as a bit weird to them." The first episode offers viewers a glimpse into how Noel and his wife Liz are getting on with the community, featuring highlights such as Noel outlining his health regimen, the eye-catching golden statue outside his pub, and a revelation from Noel that he "was an emperor in a past life".
