ITV Emmerdale fans 'work out' major bombshell plot twist as icon 'set to return'

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Emmerdale enthusiasts are speculating a surrogacy plot twist for Sarah Sugden, and they believe they've figured out who will bear her child. Sarah (played by Katie Hill), the offspring of Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher) and Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), has certainly experienced her fair share of turmoil during her time in the Dales. The character has spent a significant portion of her life in hospital due to a life-altering diagnosis. Sarah was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder known as Fanconi anaemia when she was just six years old. This diagnosis necessitated a life-saving bone marrow transplant and a heart transplant, leaving her anxious about her lifespan compared to her fellow villagers. In addition to this, Sarah has fought cancer twice and suffered from heart failure in 2018, a side effect of chemotherapy, reports Belfast Live. Recently, Sarah has expressed a strong desire to have a baby and underwent IVF treatment. However, during the process, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. In upcoming episodes, Sarah is scheduled to undergo surgery for her cancer. But things take an unexpected turn when a surgeon informs her grandmother Charity (Emma Atkins) that the operation didn't go as planned. Now, fans are convinced that Sarah will opt for surrogacy, and they think they've deduced who will carry her baby - a returning soap legend. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one individual speculated: "I have a feeling Sarah will be unable to have a baby. Her carrying a baby was already incredibly risky so I think there's going to be a surrogacy person concurred: "I thought that too. " A third fan suggested Sarah's mum Debbie as a potential surrogate for Sarah's child." I did think of Charity as the surrogate but maybe Debbie could do it?" they pondered. Another agreed: "I'd love that, and then she can finally return!" Debbie Dingle is a soap icon, having made her first appearance in 2002. As Cain's (Jeff Hordley) daughter, she has been involved in numerous major storylines until her departure in 2021.

Tributes paid to 'wonderful' young man following tragic drowning death

Heartbreaking tributes are being paid to a 'wonderful' young man from Tyrone after he drowned while in Canada. Stuart Doonan, from Drumquin, sadly lost his life on Friday, June 13, after getting into difficulty in water close to where he was living in Montreal, Belfast Live reports. Stuart's friends and family shared they were heartbroken following his passing. Writing a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, Stuart's beloved sister Stacey said: "We are devastated about the circumstances surrounding his passing as he tragically drowned near his accommodation in Montreal. 'Stuart was full of life and full of love, the heart and soul of our family and he will be sorely missed. We will give details of wake and funeral when we navigate the difficulties of getting Stuart home. Thank you to everyone for all their love and support, it is appreciated by all of the family.' An online memorial page was also launched by Stuart's friends and family, to pay tribute and share memories of their 'wonderful' Stuart. The creator of the page wrote: "He will be sorely missed. From his warm and caring personality, to his infectious enthusiasm for music, right down to his bravery and sense of adventure in chasing his dreams, he was a true gem and an inspiration. To the Doonan family we give our love and condolences, and a glimpse into how much your Stuart meant to us." Bad Owl Presents, Leeds based music promoters, praised Stuart as someone who brought "excitement and passion" to their shows. They shared: "We're extremely saddened to hear of the tragic passing of Stuart Doonan. Stu was a stalwart at our gigs until he recently moved away to follow his dream of living and working in Canada. He brought an excitement and passion to our shows, was a huge advocate of the scene and always had a daft story to regale to us in between bands. He will be very much missed and our thoughts go out to his friends and family. x" A funeral notice for Stuart described him as: "Dearly beloved son of David and Carol. A devoted brother of Clara (John), Stacey (Will) and the late baby Andrew. A much-loved grandson of Robert and the late Florence and the late Tommy and Jennifer. A dear nephew and cousin." Derry City and Strabane UUP councillor Derek Hussey UUP Councillor said: "Stuart's family are well known throughout our entire community and his mum Carol and dad David have been personal friends for many years since my teaching days at Castlederg High and beyond. 'The sympathy of all in our area goes out to David, Carol, Stacey and Clara together with all Family and Friends as they deal with the sudden passing of Stuart and the extended trauma whilst we await Stuart's return home. I trust that the issues of documentation etc that lie around the situation from the Canadian authorities can be overcome to ease the current issues at the earliest opportunity and will continue to assist in seeking this.'

River Island's 'gorgeous' yellow dress hailed as ideal for summer weddings

River Island shoppers can't get enough of a "gorgeous" dress that's become a hit on social media. The much-loved high street chain has done it again with what looks like another popular piece. The retailer is delighting fashionistas with the Yellow Sleeveless Corset Detail Midi Dress, priced at €132. On offer in both sunshine yellow and classic white, the dress is up for grabs in an array of sizes, though they're flying off the shelves quickly. With features including a v-neck, no sleeves, adjustable straps, a midi cut, and a zip fastener, the dress's standout corset detail provides an elegant shape. Constructed from 97% cotton and 3% elastane, River Island suggests that the garment should be cool ironed and machine washed on a mild 30°C cycle. Customers should avoid both tumble drying and dry cleaning, according to the brand's recommendations. The viral Instagram channel @galslovehighstreet showcased the River Island sensation in a video post, captioned: "It's screaming Italian wedding guest." The social media post has garnered over 1,800 likes and loads of comments from eager fashion enthusiasts, reports Belfast Live. Among the feedback, a shopper commented: "Love this colour," while another added: "Gorgeous." An excited customer shared their enthusiasm, posting: "This looks soooo flattering." Another person expressed their adoration, saying: "I love this dress so much." And one more chimed in with: "I'm obsessed." Nevertheless, some shoppers raised concerns, with one remarking on the hefty price tag: "I want this but €132 wow," and another echoed the sentiment: "Stunning, but that price is mental." A particular shopper voiced a specific critique, commenting: "Get rid of that massive zip and whack a bow on the back and that's an amazing occasion dress!". Despite the criticisms, many continued to lavish compliments on the yellow frock. A comment declared: "Absolutely gorgeous", another enamoured fan wrote: "Fave colour." Yet another simply stated: "Stunning" while someone else was emphatic with: "Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous." An Instagrammer couldn't hide their excitement: "Oh my god! ! I love this dress!". One succinctly put: "Need," while another admirer mused: "It's such a beautiful colour."

Irish mum says 'holiday of a lifetime' turned into 'nightmare' after horror fall

An Irish mum has recounted the harrowing experience of her three year old son needing brain surgery after a dreadful fall in Dubai, turning their dream holiday into "the biggest nightmare of our life". Deborah Duffy, hailing from Lettershandoney near Derry city, is sharing her story to highlight the critical importance of having travel insurance for unforeseen incidents while on holiday abroad. Speaking from Dubai, where her son Reuben is still hospitalised, she relayed the frightening incident when her young son had a slip by a pool just one day into their break on Friday (June 6), leading to a brain haemorrhage. The quick response from skilled doctors at the Saudi German Hospital in the UAE metropolis was crucial in saving Reuben's life, and now there's optimism he'll fully recover after an intense stint in ICU. However, without travel insurance, Deborah's family could have been slammed with a bill running into the hundreds of thousands. Deborah shared: "We literally just landed in Dubai on Friday morning. We did a few 'touristy' things for the first couple of hours. We travelled late on the Thursday night and we purposely picked that flight just because Reuben is only three and it would be easier for him to travel at night - he would be sleeping," reports Belfast Live. "We went to see the Burj Khalifa and that on Friday morning, came back to the hotel, and just went to the pool just to see what it was like. We had only arrived a few hours [earlier] and Reuben, just being a three-year-old, was carrying on - throwing shoes into the pool, just, you know, carrying on as a three-year-old does. "He turned around and slipped, and hit his head. He cried so we were, obviously, comforting him at the pool and then he came around. I said 'you know what it's very warm, we'll go up to the room', and he sat and watched his iPad for half an hour." However, things rapidly deteriorated, as Deborah elaborated. "He got very dizzy, couldn't climb onto the bed and, just, I knew as as a mother 'there's something not right here'. I actually got really upset because my son was just not acting right. He was just acting very different, so I rang reception and then reception brought the paramedics up. He [the paramedic] said, oh, 'he's just very tired from travelling' and I was like, 'no, he's not - he's suffering'." She insisted that Reuben should be taken to hospital in an ambulance - and the Derry woman's persistence would soon prove invaluable for her son's health. The little boy, it would turn out, had been very seriously injured in the fall. At the Saudi German Hospital in Dubai, Reuben was examined by a paediatric doctor and taken for scans. The scans showed that he had a bleed in his brain. After undergoing brain surgery at a Dubai hospital and spending several days in intensive care, including time on a ventilator, the young lad has been moved out of ICU to the children's ward. Deborah shared that he was out of intensive care since Tuesday, adding: "They [the doctors at the Saudi German Hospital] are very, very happy with him," but also noted "But he still has a long road to go. He will remain in the hospital probably for quite a while, and we won't be able to fly home for some time because I will not be putting him at risk at any time." She stressed the significance of travel insurance, saying: "I just want to tell people the importance of getting travel insurance. It's mental what this treatment will cost - right now it's standing around 140,000 - and if we're here for another substantial amount of time, it will obviously increase." Deborah also reflected on the suddenness of the accident: "If you look at how this happened - a typical three-year-old - this could happen anywhere or to any family in a split second. He was literally less than half-a-metre away from me when he slipped, fell, and this could happen to anyone." The Derry woman offered her heartfelt gratitude to the medical team at the Dubai hospital, stating: "Thank God for the treatment he received in this hospital. He had one of the best neurologists in the world and he saved his life. We never thought we would find ourselves in this position. We thought this was going to be a holiday of a lifetime, not the biggest nightmare of our life. The doctors here are just different class. At home, God forbid, he would have probably went to Belfast and maybe he wouldn't have been seen for hours or days." She continued to heap praise on her family and the larger circle for their support: Deborah remarked that she and Reuben's dad Niall tremendously appreciate the help from Reuben's gran and his aunty during these tough times since the mishap. The family's crowdfunding initiative has successfully gathered over €12,000 in contributions, a sum Deborah mentioned might go toward hiring a doctor escort when Reuben is well enough to fly back.
