Coronation Street star who shot to fame on Britain's Got Talent 'confirms' soap exit - and his final scenes have already aired
Coronation Street star Jack Carroll has reportedly left the show after two years - and fans have already seen his final scenes. The actor, 26, who shot to fame on Britain's Got Talent, joined the soap in 2023 as Bobby Crawford. Despite rumours he had already bowed out last year, the actor was still appearing regularly on-screen earlier this year. But his character's abrupt disappearance last month raised eyebrows, as he was quietly written out without any on-screen farewell or mention. It's now been revealed by The Mirror that Bobby has departed the soap — though his exit isn't permanent, with the door left ajar for a possible comeback in the future. A source told the publication: 'Bobby has had a dramatic couple of years on the cobbles, but the time has come to bid farewell. Actor Jack enjoyed his time on the soap, but it's time to move on. 'Viewers won't see the character exit the street as he's already left, with Jack filming his final scenes some time ago. 'The door has been left open for Jack should he wish to come back to the show in the future. With his Aunty Carla there, Bobby will always have a place in Weatherfield.' MailOnline has contacted ITV for comment. His character was last seen in the soap in May when he headed off to Spain to visit Simon Barlow. It comes after Jack revealed how he landed his role on the ITV soap. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 16 months old – the result of brain damage that happened either during or shortly after his birth, causing spastic diplegia, a disability affecting both of his legs. Speaking on This Morning with hosts Rylan Clark and Josie Gibson last year, the star revealed how he claimed the coveted role and how the soap portrays the condition. Jack said that Corrie was something he had wanted to do for a long time - and he was helped by having a 'couple of friends' on the writing staff. As the team already knew him well, they were able to create a character that was very personalised to him as they were already familiar with his sense of humour. He went on to discuss how cerebral palsy has been portrayed on the Cobbles and the 'smart' way the producers have explored it. He said: 'I think the way they've gone about doing it and portraying disabilities they've done it in a really smart way. 'It's a facet of the character and there's lots of other stuff going on. It shows him as a human being too which is really important to do.' Joining Corrie was a very surreal experience for Jack, who described starting as 'quite daunting' and said he has 'big blockbuster' storylines coming up. He continued: 'It's bizarre! Walking past all these sets. It's very very bizarre but I hope that never leaves me. 'It's a huge privilege and I'm lucky to be able to add it to the CV.' Cerebral palsy is a life-long condition that occurs when a baby's brain is starved of oxygen during or shortly after birth. In most cases, this is due to a difficult labour, but it can occur as a result of an infection of the brain or head injury. Those with the condition may experience difficulties with movement and co-ordination, as well as loss of speech, hearing and vision and spinal deformities, and may need lifelong care. Disability charity Scope says an estimated 1,800 children are diagnosed with cerebral palsy in the UK every year. In 2020-2021, 281 cases of preventable cerebral palsy were reported – the highest number since 2010 and a fifth of the ten-year total. At the age of 14, Jack came runner-up on Britain's Got Talent in 2013 to shadow theatre group Attraction. The standup comedian, who has also made an appearance on Saturday Night at the London Palladium, was a hit among the judges and viewers. Jack has also made an appearance on Jason Manford's Funny Old Week and Live At the Apollo as well as completing his first national live tour. His acting career kicked off shortly after his BGT stint as he has starred in the likes of the Ministry of Curious Stuff on CBBC, Trollied, Doctors and the role of Pete in the feature film Eaten By Lions. What is cerebral palsy? Cerebral palsy is the name for a set of conditions affecting movement and co-ordination stemming from a problem with the brain that takes place before, during or soon after birth. Symptoms are not typically obvious immediately after a child is born — but instead normally become noticeable after two or three years. They include delays in reaching development milestones, such as: Not sitting by eight months Not walking by 18 months Appearing too stiff or too floppy Walking on tip-toes Weak arms or legs Fidgety, jerky or clumsy movements Random, uncontrolled movements Difficulty speaking, swallowing or seeing — along with learning difficulties — can also be symptoms. Cerebral palsy symptoms can be caused by a number of things and are not necessarily an indication of the condition, which can occur if a child's brain does not develop normally while in the womb, or is damaged during or soon after birth. Causes include bleeding in the baby's brain, reduced blood and oxygen supply, infection caught by the mother while pregnant, asphyxiation during a difficult birth, meningitis or a serious head injury - though the precise cause is often not clear. There is no cure currently, but physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and medication are often used as treatment. Each person living with the condition is affected in a different way, but generally speaking most children live into adult life and some can live for many decades.

Piers Morgan reveals he turned down big money reality TV show just last week – saying ‘my parents would disown me'
PIERS Morgan has revealed that he turned down a big money reality TV show just last week. Journalist and presenter Piers, 60, admitted that if he went on the show his "parents would disown" him. 5 5 Piers is no stranger when it comes to reality TV, appearing on Celebrity Apprentice in 2008 and as a judge on both America and Britain's Got Talent. But there is one show in particular which is off the cards for the broadcaster. Speaking on the Rosebud with Gyles Brandreth podcast Piers revealed that he turned down a huge reality TV show just last week. Speaking on the latest episode of the pod he says of his parents: 'One thing they always said to me was 'Don't ever do the jungle, I'm A Celebrity', I always remember this and last week I got a call from ITV 'Could we tempt you to do the jungle?' 'And I went 'There's actually not enough money at ITV to get me to go in that jungle because my parents would disown me'. That for them was the red line. ' 'So you won't ever see me munching kangaroo testicles, I'm afraid.' I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here sees a star-studded line-up swap their luxurious lifestyle for Bushtucker trials in the Australian jungle. The famous faces are put through trials and torment as they battle it out to become Queen or King of the jungle. Back in 2022 Piers asked for £5million to do the famous TV show fronted by comedy duo Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly. He was previously asked if he was planning to follow in Matt Hancock 's footsteps who shocked the nation when appeared on the show in 2022. Piers told The Sun at its Who Cares Wins awards: "I would rather shoot myself slowly with a slow moving bullet that corroded through every bone in my body before it finished me off than go into the jungle with people like Matt Hancock. "My parents have actually said to me they would put up with anything - and I've put them through a lot - but not the jungle. "It's a step too far. That's their red line. I'd get disowned." Piers fuelled rumours he'd finally been persuaded to sign up to the gruelling reality show on X (formerly known as Twitter). He tweeted: "Like I said, £5million and I'll come and munch kangaroo testicles. Not a penny less." 5 5 5

Puppeteer creates a spider character with a Suffolk twang
A familiar twang has caught the attention of some viewers on a new children's television Towers has launched on CBeebies and features a character named Tincy, a spider with a Suffolk was created by artist Laura Bacon, from Haverhill, Suffolk, whose work has included performing stage puppetry for Coldplay during the band's world tour."I stopped hearing [a Suffolk accent] when my grandparents passed away. It wasn't until then that I realised I really missed it," she said. "I also moved out of Haverhill. I now live in London and I missed it a lot, so I sort of relax into the accent a lot more than I did when I actually lived there."People who aren't from Suffolk don't really know how it sounds because they just assume it's kind of 'oh ah, tractor'."It's definitely difficult to learn because it's a dialect as well and it's the way you say things, not just the accent." Ms Bacon rose to prominence in the industry after reaching the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent in later worked on the television shows Sesame Street and Spitting Image and on stage as Piglet during the UK tour of a Winnie the Pooh musical. Another of Ms Bacon's characters, Mavis, also speaks with a strong Suffolk accent and the puppeteer said she was pleased to be doing the same with Tincy on Playtime Towers."Tincy isn't as old as Mavis, she's a bit more like an excitable, hyperactive little Mavis. Lots of her scenes are with songs, sort of based on original nursery rhymes but with a modern twist."Tincy has her own language, she says things like 'terrifically wonderlicious' and 'splendiddly' - so it's quite nice because I got to switch around certain words."There's a certain way that Suffolk people talk, like instead of saying 'she does', saying 'she do'."So one of the episodes is called Towel and instead of Tincy saying 'look there's a towel', I changed it to 'there's a towel, look'." Amanda Holden, 54, puts on a leggy display in zesty green mini dress as she heads to work in the sunshine
Amanda Holden showed off her incredible figure in a green mini dress as she made a leggy appearance at Heart Breakfast Show on Friday. The presenter, 54, was all smiles in the outfit, which she accessorised with a large pair of sunglasses and silver Christian Louboutin heels. As temperatures soared to 29 degrees in the capital, the star opted to wear her long blonde hair down in subtle waves. The star credits her slim physique with having a balanced diet and a varied exercise routine which includes yoga and running. Amanda has also praised the benefits of getting enough water, previously telling the MailOnline: 'It's good for my body and soul'. But while Amanda is clearly proud of her incredible body, she stressed that she does not restrict her diet and enjoys treats in moderation. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The presenter was all smiles in the outfit, which she accessorised with a large pair of sunglasses and silver Christian Louboutin heels The star's leggy display comes after she sent temperatures soaring as she showed off her jaw-dropping figure in a pink bikini while filming a new campaign in Mallorca earlier this month. The radio host shared the new racy clip on her Instagram page - informing fans she was on the sunny Spanish island for work purposes. In the stunning video, the Britain's Got Talent judge radiated confidence while strutting her stuff by a pool in the skimpy pink two-piece, adding strappy open-toe heels to complete the revealing look. Her fellow celeb pals raced to comment below the stunning clip, with Ruth Langsford sharing a slew of heart emojis. Vicky Pattison raved: 'AMANDA!!!!' Amanda was in Mallorca to film a new ad for UK brand Revive Collagen, founded by TOWIE star Samantha Faiers. However, it would come as no surprise if Amanda was naked as the star is no stranger to flashing the flesh in the studios. In April 2024, she stripped naked during the Heart Breakfast Show. Her fellow celeb pals raced to comment below the stunning clip, with Ruth Langsford sharing a slew of heart emojis The confident star put every inch of herself on display as she removed her clothes for a life drawing session, that saw artists, as well as her radio co-hosts Jamie and Ashley Roberts have a go at drawing her. As Amanda dropped her trousers on camera, Jamie explained: 'Slightly distracting... Amanda's in the corner of the studio without any clothes on - which is a first not for her of course - but the rest of us.' Ashley interjected: 'She looks amazing!' As Amanda was presented with the images of herself nude, she seemed delighted with the outcomes. Yet Jamie was quick to put an end to the bizarre segment as he called out 'can you put a top on because it's slightly distracting?!'

David Walliams Nazi salute 'unacceptable', BBC says
The BBC has said it was "unacceptable" for David Walliams to make two Nazi salutes during a recording of comedy panel show Would I Lie To You? this week. The comedian and children's author made the gestures during a segment in which a fellow panellist discussed a story about injuring their wrist while waving. Walliams reportedly joined in with increasingly vigorous waves, which culminated in him holding out his arm in a Nazi salute. The show's production company and the BBC both described the gestures as "completely unacceptable" and said the segment would not be broadcast. BBC News has asked representatives for Walliams for comment. The former Britain's Got Talent judge was on the panel for the BBC One show's Christmas special, which was recorded at Pinewood Studios on Tuesday. Journalist Sebastian Topan, who was in the audience, contacted the BBC to describe what happened. One part of the show saw Call The Midwife actress Helen George, who took part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2015, being given a prompt to suggest she had sprained her wrist "from waving too much during the Strictly tour". She then had to try to convince the opposing team that her anecdote was true. After demonstrating the wave, which purportedly left her with an injury, she was told that it was "too little" and was encouraged to make a bigger gesture. "Some other panellist was talking when David Walliams started doing the Nazi salute," Topan told the BBC. "I was shocked at what I had seen." There were "patches of quietened gasps and awkward half-laughs and broken clapping" in the audience, they said. The show's host, Gavin & Stacey star Rob Brydon, then told Walliams the show would be broadcast before the 9pm watershed, effectively suggesting his behaviour was not suitable for a family TV audience. However, as the discussion about George's experience continued, Walliams made the gesture again, adding a sexual gesture with his other hand. It's understood the exchange landed awkwardly in the studio. "The atmosphere was uncomfortable and weird," Topan said. "I think Rob Brydon wanted to get past it as quickly as he could. David Walliams' team-mates looked unsure what to do and were not laughing... It was like an elephant in the room after that as the incident was early on in the recording and so the remainder of the show felt weird." After the recording, a different member of the audience posted on X: "I didn't have David Walliams doing a Nazi salute at the Would I Lie To You? Christmas taping on my 2025 bingo card." A spokesperson for Banijay UK, which owns the show's production company Zeppotron, said: "Any attempt at humour regarding this deeply offensive gesture, whether broadcast or not, is completely unacceptable in any context. "It was immediately acknowledged during the recording that this segment would not be broadcast under any circumstances and we apologise to those who were at the recording for any offence caused." A BBC spokesperson said: "The use of such an offensive gesture is completely unacceptable and we apologise to all at the recording for the offence caused." Walliams, who also hosts a podcast with his former Little Britain co-star Matt Lucas, has not appeared on terrestrial television since 2022. He left his role as a judge on ITV show Britain's Got Talent that year after an audio recording of him making insulting comments about contestants were made public.
