Pedestrian fatally struck by train in south Fort Worth, officials say
A pedestrian was fatally struck by a train Saturday, March 29, in south Fort Worth, officials said.
First responders were called to the area of Whispering Brook Lane and Crescent Creek Lane around 11:15 a.m. The man had been walking on the edge of the tracks near a rise, according to Fort Worth Fire Department spokesperson Kyle Clay.
The engineer tried to slow the train down and sounded the horn in warning, but the man didn't react, Clay said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will identify the pedestrian. Police said they will investigate the incident.

Pedestrian, 74, dies after hit-run crash in Honolulu
Honolulu police said a 74-year-old woman who was struck in a crosswalk Tuesday by a hit-and-run driver has died. Police said the pedestrian was struck by an 'unidentified motorist ' as she was trying to cross Makaloa Street at Kaheka Street in the Ala Moana area at about 12 :10 p.m. Tuesday. Leon County jail death: Andrew Wiley, charged in murder of daughter Lori Paige
Andrew Wiley, who was charged with killing his 12-year old daughter and dumping her body in the Georgia woods, has died in the Leon County jail, the Sheriff's Office announced. Wiley, 36, was the father of Lori Paige, who went missing in Tallahassee two years ago. In a news release the evening of June 19, sheriff's spokesperson Javonni Hampton said Wiley "experienced a medical emergency" at the jail, "was taken to the medical unit and treated." "LCSO detention staff began life-saving measures and were assisted by emergency responders upon their arrival," Hampton added. Wiley "was pronounced dead at approximately 5:36 p.m." The news release also said Wiley "had been in custody at the detention facility since April 2025. His next of kin has been notified. All standard protocols for an in-custody death are being followed. The Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death." No further information was released. 84-year-old man dies after dog attack in Tarrant County, authorities say
An 84-year-old man died Monday following a dog attack at his home in Tarrant County, authorities said. The incident occurred on Slay Street near Ten Mile Bridge Road, just south of Eagle Mountain Lake. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Ronald Grant Anderson. He was pronounced dead just before 4:30 p.m. Monday. The Tarrant County Sheriff's Office said additional information will be released later Thursday.
