Wamiqa Gabbi's bold comment about Karan Johar and Bollywood stardom raises eyebrows on Reddit
Wamiqa Gabbi
recently stirred up conversation online with a statement that many saw as a subtle dig at how stardom works in Bollywood. The actress, who has been gaining recognition for her performances, especially after the release of Bhool Chuk Maaf, echoed sentiments earlier expressed by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan about the support Alia has received from
Karan Johar
throughout her career.
'I Want to Steal Karan Johar'
In a candid interaction with journalist Nayandeep Rakshit, Wamiqa was asked what she would like to "steal" from various Bollywood stars. When
Alia Bhatt
's name came up, she did not hesitate to say, 'Karan Johar.' She elaborated that having someone as influential, talented, and emotionally invested in one's growth—like Johar has been for Alia—is a rare and valuable support system.
This comment immediately sparked online discussion, with many pointing out that her words reflect the same views shared by Aishwarya Rai in the past. In an old interview with Bollywood Hungama, Aishwarya had also acknowledged the steady and powerful backing Alia had received from Karan. She had said that such support created a solid foundation for Alia and gave her consistent access to high-profile work opportunities.
Online Reactions Applaud Wamiqa's Honesty
Wamiqa's remark drew strong reactions online. Many Reddit users praised her for her straightforwardness, especially in an industry where such observations are rarely voiced publicly. One user called her 'Ash ki beti,' referring to her resemblance to Aishwarya Rai and applauding her boldness. Another user noted that Wamiqa joins a growing list of actresses, including Aishwarya, Kangana Ranaut, and Kriti Sanon, who have indirectly or directly acknowledged the advantages Alia has enjoyed under Karan Johar's mentorship.
Some even suggested that Alia might not appreciate the comment, interpreting it as a subtle criticism of her privileged rise. A few users added that Johar's support had a major role in shaping her career, and such loyalty from a powerful figure was something most outsiders could only hope for.
What Wamiqa Admires in Her Peers
Alongside the Karan Johar comment, Wamiqa also shared traits she admired in other actors. She mentioned wanting Ananya Panday's flawless skin, Keerthy Suresh's humility, Varun Dhawan's high energy, Shah Rukh Khan's legacy, Kriti Sanon's tall frame, and Kiara Advani's physique. These responses showed her light-hearted approach, but it was the Alia-Karan mention that drew the most attention.
Wamiqa, who bears a resemblance to Aishwarya Rai and has often been noticed for her expressive eyes, has spoken about her own struggles in the industry. She once trained for Baahubali but was rejected before shooting began. She admitted that many of the early rejections were deserved, as she hadn't honed her craft properly back then. It was only after the pandemic that she committed herself more seriously to acting.
While Alia is preparing for her next big project Alpha, part of the YRF Spy Universe, and also has Love & War with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal lined up, Wamiqa is moving forward with Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom, a Netflix series.

Sonakshi Sinha Recalls Chilling Encounter With A 'Harmless Ghost' At Home: 'I Froze...'
Last Updated: During promotions for her paranormal film Nikita Roy, Sonakshi Sinha opened up about a chilling real-life ghostly encounter at her home. After dazzling audiences in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi, actor Sonakshi Sinha is gearing up for the release of her upcoming paranormal film Nikita Roy. Fittingly, during promotions for the movie, Sonakshi shared an eerie real-life brush with the supernatural — one that shook her long-held disbelief in ghosts. In a candid chat with Bollywood Hungama, Sonakshi revealed that until recently, she didn't believe in ghosts or paranormal phenomena at all. But one unsettling incident at her own home left her questioning everything. 'I used to not believe. I used to not believe at all," she said. 'But one day, something very weird happened to me in my house. Since then, I've been a little shaken. But after that, nothing happened, so I thought, maybe it was a dream? It was a harmless ghost — possibly." The encounter took place around 4 am, while she was in that blurry state between sleep and wakefulness. 'I was in that stage where your eyes are shut but your mind is alert," she explained. 'Suddenly, I felt this pressure, like someone was trying to wake me up. I was terrified. I just froze. I didn't open my eyes. I couldn't move. I stayed like that till morning — I didn't open my eyes until the lights came on. It really shook me up." The experience left such a strong impression that Sonakshi even spoke out loud to the mysterious entity the next night, hoping to ward off any future visits. 'When I came home the next night, it was late again. I peeked in first, then said very loudly: 'Jo bhi aaya tha kal raat ko, phirse aise mat karo. Main bohot darr gayi thi. Agar kuch baat karni hai toh mere sapne mein aana… no face-to-face conversation.' And then I walked in. I swear, since then, nothing like that has happened again." Earlier this year, Sonakshi also made headlines for selling her plush Bandra home for Rs 22.5 crore — though no ghosts were reportedly included in the deal. Despite owning property worth crores, Prabhas still couldn't get married to this actress..., reason will leave you shocked
Prabhas—pan-India superstar and heartthrob to millions—has a fan base that rivals the biggest names in cinema. Despite frequent link-ups with various actresses, it's his on-screen chemistry with Baahubali co-star Anushka Shetty that continues to spark wedding rumours. For years, whispers of a secret romance and impending wedding have made headlines. Yet, the question remains: Why haven't Prabhas and Anushka tied the knot? Once again, speculation is gaining traction, thanks to a resurfaced report from an English magazine. According to the reports, both actors were indeed close, and their families had allegedly given a green signal to their marriage. But things reportedly came to a halt due to one surprising factor: their kundalis (astrological charts) didn't match. Yes, in a twist straight out of a film plot, astrology allegedly derailed what could've been South cinema's most beloved off-screen couple. The report suggests that Prabhas and Anushka respected the astrological mismatch to such an extent that they may have chosen to remain single rather than risk going against it. While fans call this belief outdated, others see it as a sign of deep-rooted family values. Adding to the intrigue, Shyamala Devi—wife of late actor-producer Krishnam Raju and Prabhas's aunt—had previously addressed the marriage chatter. In an old interview, she said, 'Not just you, the entire world is waiting for Prabhas's wedding.' She went on to say, 'God has made someone special for everyone, and at the right time, everything will fall into place.' She also gave subtle hints about the kind of partner Prabhas is likely to choose: 'He will prefer someone who blends into the family, someone warm and positive. He dislikes negativity and people who criticise others.' Despite the buzz and endless theories, one thing is clear—Prabhas's wedding continues to be a million-dollar mystery for his fans and the industry alike. Until there's an official word, the wait (and wild guessing) continues.
