Doughnut Snob brings gourmet doughnuts to CBS News Texas for National Doughnut Day
Friday is National Doughnut Day, and what better way to celebrate than with some of the best doughnuts North Texas has to offer?
CBS News Texas invited The Doughnut Snob, a Fort Worth-based food truck known for its gourmet creations, to pull up and treat the newsroom.
CBS News Texas
The team also got a peek inside the compact kitchen, where owner David Cudmore claims they're serving the best doughnuts in Texas, at least according to one particular customer base.
"There's a myth about law enforcement officers and doughnuts," Cudmore said. "We have been told repeatedly all over North Texas by police officers that we have the best doughnuts."
Sweet cream, buttermilk base
So, what's the secret?
"We make a sweet cream, buttermilk cake doughnut," Cudmore said.
Each doughnut starts with a rich batter that's dropped into hot oil by a machine he calls "the hopper," then fried to golden perfection. After that, the real fun begins -- decorating with a lineup of creative, homemade toppings.
Creative flavors steal the show
A favorite at the station was the apple cinnamon streusel dipped in a house-made crumble. But he also served up Samoa, Bavarian cream, maple bacon, Oreo, blueberry cheesecake, and their seasonal hit, strawberry shortcake doughnuts.
"My favorite is the blueberry cheesecake," Cudmore said. "They're definitely a splurge, but always worth it. Calories are calories," he added. "But doughnuts aren't always just doughnuts."
Competing for food truck gold
The Doughnut Snob has clearly made an impression in North Texas.
This weekend, Cudmore and his crew will compete at the Food Truck Championships of Texas in Graham, entering their seasonal strawberry shortcake doughnut in hopes of bringing home the gold -- and a grand prize of $10,000.

NBA Fans Think Shams Charania's Body Language Might Reveal Kevin Durant's Next Destination
NBA Fans Think Shams Charania's Body Language Might Reveal Kevin Durant's Next Destination originally appeared on Fadeaway World. Kevin Durant's future is one of the biggest talking points in the basketball world at the moment, as a parting of ways with the Phoenix Suns appears imminent. Iman Shumpert named the San Antonio Spurs as the ideal landing spot for Durant on Hoop Streams, and a fan noticed that Shams Charania had an interesting reaction to the comment. Others agreed that Charania's body language indicated that Durant would be a Spur soon. Advertisement "I really don't feed into stuff like this, but this was actually something convincing. Shams knows, and now the world does. Also, to be honest I know KD wants to be a Spur bad that's the best situation," one fan is now convinced that Charania knows. "He's a Spur, I keep saying this," a fan has always believed Durant would go to the Spurs. "This look is 'Ishbia, I didn't say it, he did,'" a fan joked that Charania was indicating that he hadn't said anything about the Spurs. "When your friend guesses the ending of the movie right and you're trying not to tell him," one used a hilarious analogy to describe this situation. Advertisement "The trades already done- just waiting for the finals to end," one fan believes the trade is already done. Well, earlier this month, Bill Simmons claimed that Durant's trade to the Spurs had been finalized in secret. He believed the move would be announced during the week of the draft. This post on X also came to Shumpert's attention, and his reaction gave even more belief to fans about Durant heading to San Antonio. "I know what Shams wanted to say. Shams Charania gone be a great summer." Charania had previously reported that the Spurs were one of Durant's preferred destinations, and he'd be willing to commit long-term to them. The Athletic then went a step further on Monday night. Advertisement "Out of Kevin Durant's preferred trade destinations, league sources tell The Athletic that he specifically wants to play for the San Antonio Spurs." While there is talk about Durant and the Spurs being a done deal, other reports indicate nothing has been finalized. The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski and Sam Amick stated that the Suns haven't liked any of the offers on the table. 'With the offers from the Spurs, Rockets, and Heat coming up short to this point, league sources say the Suns are still hopeful that Durant might warm to the Timberwolves possibility.' Charania was the one to report that Durant had no interest in going to the Minnesota Timberwolves. You could argue that a move to the Timberwolves would present him with his best chance to win a third title, but he isn't open to that move as of now. Advertisement Durant, who averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game in 2024-25, has his eyes on the Spurs. It would be quite fascinating to see him and Victor Wembanyama team up. Depending on who would get traded to the Suns to get Durant, the two superstars would be supported by the likes of De'Aaron Fox, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, Jeremy Sochan, and the second pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. While the Spurs wouldn't be the favorites to win the championship with Durant, they would be in the mix. If Wembanyama can take another leap in his third season, then perhaps they could go on and win it all. Video: Mariya Agapova kisses Jessica Eye on the mouth during BKFC faceoff
Two former UFC fighters shared a kiss during BKFC 76 pre-fight faceoffs, though one was not happy. While fighters occasionally get physical during their final opportunity to mean-mug their opponent, it's not usually in the way Mariya Agapova did it Friday when she kissed Jessica Eye on the mouth. Advertisement Eye was not a consenting party in the lip-locking. She appeared caught off guard by the action and vented some frustration toward Agapova moments later. The maneuver could add an additional layer of heat to Saturday's matchup, which takes place on the main card at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. Wings' Paige Bueckers gets incredible Gatorade surprise
The post Wings' Paige Bueckers gets incredible Gatorade surprise appeared first on ClutchPoints. ARLINGTON, TX — Paige Bueckers has denied being a celebrity despite emerging as one of the most popular athletes in sports today. Celebrity or not, Bueckers' rise is catching the attention of fans, players, coaches and companies. Gatorade even surprised Bueckers with a limited edition flavor of her self-proclaimed 'favorite drink' following the Dallas Wings' 80-71 win against the Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday night. Advertisement During the Wings' postgame press conference, a Gatorade bottle was placed on the table in front of where Bueckers was sitting. A reporter asked Bueckers about the drink — which had her face on it. Before Bueckers could even respond, Myisha Hines-Allen, who was sitting next to Bueckers, asked about it as well. Bueckers, with a shy but excited smile on her face, grabbed the bottle and showed Hines-Allen so she could see the front of it. Paige Bueckers then turned it around to show the reporters once again before explaining the backstory. 'This is a limited edition Gatorade flavor,' Bueckers said. 'Shirley Temple, it's like my favorite drink of all-time so they put it in a Gatorade flavor. So, pretty fire.' Advertisement Bueckers made her comments with a big smile on her face. Perhaps the honor of receiving her own limited edition Gatorade impacted that smile. Of course, the idea of drinking a Shirley Temple flavored Gatorade probably played a role as well, as the Shirley Temple is her 'favorite drink of all-time.' It was an all-around good moment following a strong win for Paige Bueckers and the Wings. It has been a challenging season overall for the team — they are now just 2-11 — but perhaps the victory on Tuesday will help Dallas get back on track. The Wings will have a couple of days off before their next contest, which is scheduled for Friday night at 7:30 PM EST in Connecticut against the Sun.
