Wheel of Time cancelled: Fans furious over uncompleted story, threaten to cancel Prime Video
Amazon Prime Video has confirmed it will not renew The Wheel of Time for a fourth season, leaving fans outraged and the beloved fantasy story far from complete.
The cancellation comes after lengthy discussions between Prime Video and co-producers Sony Pictures TV, reportedly due to the show's high production costs and underwhelming financial returns.
Based on Robert Jordan's acclaimed book series, The Wheel of Time follows a sprawling fantasy world brought to life with a cast led by Rosamund Pike.
Despite a rocky start during its first two seasons—marked by controversy over changes from the source material—Season 3 was praised for finally capturing the spirit of the books.
Yet, even with critical improvement and a growing fanbase, Prime Video deemed the show's cost too great to justify another season.
This decision has sparked intense frustration among fans who were eager to see the saga continue, especially as Season 3 ended with much of the story left unresolved.
Many viewers lamented on X (formerly Twitter), expressing disappointment over an abrupt end to a story they had invested years in following.

They finally got the show on the right track in Season 3 and then they cancel it.. Stupid. — Fl0yd_Xma$ (@Th3MetaM1nd) May 23, 2025
Streaming really is the death of creative and unique shows. Wheel of Time should have had way more than 3 seasons. The acting was phenomenal and the story was really getting good. RIP to non mainstream fantasy and magic. https://t.co/1D0uTtMEOp — bryce (@cloaksanchor) May 23, 2025
Canceling wheel of time but the have money for rubbish like the summer I turned pretty

97% certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes for S3, enthusiastic reviews everywhere in the press about S3, it's still in the top10 for different countries, 157 257 signatures to #SaveWoT and yet @PrimeVideo cancelled #wheeloftime ? https://t.co/ynq9xHj83m — OurNunsAndScientistWereActuallyNotSaved (@NunsAndTheirDr) May 23, 2025
The cancellation also comes amid Amazon MGM Studios' broader strategy, as it manages other expensive projects like The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
Despite the series' end on screen, The Wheel of Time universe will live on through an upcoming 'AAA Open-World RPG' game currently in development.
However, for fans of the show, the sudden halt means waiting longer for closure on a narrative that has now been left hanging.

Summer I Turned Pretty season 3 trailer shows Belly engagement, Jeremiah and Conrad love triangle, Taylor Swift songs
Prime Video has released the official trailer for the third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty, teasing major developments in Belly's love life, emotional stakes, and a continued soundtrack featuring Taylor Swift. Set to Swift's songs 'Daylight' and 'Red,' the trailer shows Belly (Lola Tung) in a committed relationship with Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno), culminating in an engagement. However, her connection to first love Conrad (Christopher Briney) resurfaces, setting the stage for an emotional conclusion to the show's central love triangle. Season 3 picks up at the end of Belly's junior year of college as she prepares for another summer at Cousins Beach. According to Prime Video's synopsis, her future with Jeremiah feels certain—until unexpected events pull Conrad back into her life. Now standing on the brink of adulthood, Belly must make a final decision about which brother truly holds her heart. In the trailer, Belly reflects, 'First loves are important. But they're not as important as lasts… Jeremiah is my future. This is the way it is supposed to be,' signaling the intensity of her emotional journey. Longtime fans have speculated whether the series will remain faithful to Jenny Han's book trilogy. In the final novel, We'll Always Have Summer, Jeremiah and Belly go through a breakup after he cheats. Though they reunite and become engaged, the wedding is called off. Belly then studies abroad and rekindles her relationship with Conrad through letters, eventually marrying him at Cousins Beach in a flash-forward. Returning cast members include Sean Kaufman, Rain Spencer, and Jackie Chung. New cast additions this season include Isabella Briggs, Kristen Connolly, Sofia Bryant, Lily Donoghue, Zoé de Grand'Maison, Emma Ishta, and Tanner Zagarino. Season 3, consisting of 11 episodes, premieres on Prime Video on July 16. Jenny Han and Sarah Kucserka return as showrunners and executive producers, alongside Karen Rosenfelt, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, and Mads Hansen of wiip.

MrBeast hits 400 million subscribers on YouTube
MrBeast has reached a new milestone on YouTube by surpassing 400 million subscribers. Celebrating the feat on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote, "400,000,000 subscribers! A decade ago, before I blew up, everyone in my life told me I was too obsessed and constantly told me that I'd never make it." The YouTuber added that his passion led him against the criticism. "Despite that, I was in love with making content and grinded every moment my eyes were open for seven years before anyone started watching. I literally told my mom I'd rather be homeless than do anything else." Grateful to the platform and his subscribers, he said, "The greatest gift in life is being able to wake up everyday with a purpose and thanks to YouTube and you guys, I have that. Thanks for 400M." No other channels on the platform are even close to the number. To put into perspective, Pewdiepie and T-Series – who had the popular online race to 100 million subscribers back in 2019, which the Indian music company won – are at 110 million and 295 million subscribers respectively. In 2023, MrBeast expressed his desire to break T-Series' record of subscribers – with MrBeast at 125 million subscribers and T-Series at 230 million then. He broke the record in 2024, becoming the most subscribed YouTuber on the platform. MrBeast, born James Stephen "Jimmy" Donaldson, joined YouTube in 2012 by posting gaming content and trying other formats. Flashforward to a 2017 video, he counted down to 100,000, which became his gateway to fame. The video currently has almost 32 million views. Since then, the YouTuber became known for his extravagant challenges and large-scale giveaways. In 2024, he premiered his own version of Netflix's Squid Game, called Beast Games on Amazon's Prime Video. The 10-episode competition series featured 1,000 players and set a grand prize of $5,000,000. Later, a lawsuit was filed against the content creator and his production company on behalf of five unnamed contestants, as per Variety. The lawsuit alleged that the show failed to provide basic necessities such as medical care, food, and sleep to the participants, adding that they were not paid minimum wage for their overtime involvement and were subjected to "dangerous circumstances and conditions." In response, MrBeast wrote on X, "We have tons of behind-the-scenes footage dropping when the series does to show how these claims were blown out of proportion. Just can't release it now because it would spoil the games." The show scored a 5.7 rating on IMDb and a 20 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes, with viewers remarking that it exploited underprivileged participants for entertainment and missed the point of Squid Game.

Prime Video will release the action thriller sequel The Accountant 2 on June 5, Amazon announced Monday. The film stars Ben Affleck reprising his role as Christian Wolff, a highly skilled CPA with autism. The new instalment follows Wolff as he investigates the murder of a former associate who leaves behind a cryptic message to "find the accountant." The Accountant 2 received mixed reviews, with USA TODAY movie critic Brian Truitt awarding it two and a half stars out of four. The first The Accountant film is also available to stream on Prime Video. Prime Video access comes with an Amazon Prime membership, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 annually, with discounted options for eligible customers. The final piece of the puzzle.
