Crime drama with 'one of the best twists of all time' finally available on Netfl
A crime drama that viewers have declared 'one of the best they've watched in a long time' has now been made available on Netflix.
First airing in Australia in 2023, North Shore was created by Mike Bullen, who was also behind the comedy-drama Cold Feet.
The six-part series follows a British and Australian detective who must team up and investigate the murder of the British trade minister's daughter after her body is found in Sydney Harbour.
The politician, Abigail Crawford, is played by Downton Abbey and Breathtaking's Joanne Froggatt.
In the middle of negotiating a major deal between Britain and Australia she is told the devastating news about her 19-year-old daughter Sophie's (Bailey Spalding) death.
Invited to help investigate the case is London based detective Max Drummond (Game of Thrones' John Bradley) who flies across the world with Abigail and her husband Simon (Dan Spielman).
However, once he arrives, it's made clear by DS Meg Driscoll (Kirsty Sturgess) that she will be taking the lead, with their personalities and cultures quickly crashing.
Despite their icy introduction, the pair must overcome their differences to work together, which then sees them uncovering a 'complex conspiracy with international political consequences'.
Several suspects then emerge, including Sophie's boyfriend and his best friend, while questions are also raised about Abigail's relationship with her old friend Greg Hardy, the leader of the Australian opposition party who looks likely to be the nation's next leader.
Since tuning in, many viewers have shared what they thought of the drama.

'One of the best twists of all time. The final episode has the most surprising twist of any crime/ murder mystery series since the first season of Broadchurch! Not as emotionally dramatic but still shocking!' lbowdls posted on IMDB.
'Ok so this isn't Line of Duty or The Wire, but it was much better than I was expecting. Don't go into this expecting a breathtaking drama. Take it for what it is. A simple whodunit with a great twist at the end!' thenorthcotes shared.
'It doesn't sound cliché or cheesy like a lot of modern murder mysteries do lately, and it's just the right amount of thriller and mystery to keep you wondering, with little hints of comedy to spark your mood,' thewatcher17 added.
The series was initially acquired by ITV in the UK, streaming on ITVX following its initial release on Australian television in 2023, but its dropped on Netflix in the UK today.
'Just binge watched North Shore One of the best series we've watched in a long time! Here's hoping they'll be another series!' Ian posted on X. More Trending
'Brilliant crime drama from down under with 2 UK lead actors. I'd recorded the first 2 episodes but after watching them yesterday I just couldn't wait and watched the rest,' John wrote.
North Shore also stars Rob Carlton, Matt Passmore, Rhys Muldoon and Toby Truslove.
North Shore is streaming on Netflix.

Princess Andre discusses breakup ahead of 18th birthday
EXCLUSIVE: As she prepares to turn 18, Princess Andre opens up on her split from her boyfriend and her plans for the future. Princess Andre is on the brink of turning 18, but she has no intentions of being snapped staggering out of nightclubs. The striking young star, gearing up to celebrate her landmark birthday with a fresh photo shoot for Sunday Mirror's Notebook magazine, has declared she fancies quiet nights in over raucous revelry. "I'm not really a big drinker or a big party-goer, but it'll be nice to be able to go to pubs and stuff with my friends," she says. To the delight of her mindful father, singer Peter Andre, she also insists, "I'm not the sort of person who'd embarrass myself. I'll never put myself in a position that would make me look bad." But this doesn't mean that Princess, known for her social media presence, won't mark the occasion with a bit of fanfare. Pete, along with his doctor spouse Emily, intends to surprise her with a party, in addition to her recent splurge on a premium Audi following her driving test success last month. Reflecting on her inaugural drive with her dad, the 'Mysterious Girl' icon, Princess shares how Pete finds it tough seeing her all grown up. "He's so proud and so supportive, but I think it's hard to see your kid get older," she shares. Describing their first journey together in her new car, she recounts, "He was the first person I took for a drive in the new car. We were listening to music and suddenly I heard him sobbing. 'I was like, 'Are you OK?' And he admitted it was weird for him to see me grow up", reports the Mirror. Despite her tender age, Princess demonstrates remarkable maturity when discussing her recent breakup with her boyfriend. "I'm feeling good. I've always kept my personal life personal, so I don't talk too much about it, but now is the time to focus on me," the up-and-coming singer shared. "I want to get my career to exactly where I want it." With an admirable following of 1.5 million on Instagram and TikTok, Princess is quickly becoming a known figure in the entertainment industry. As the progeny of two British reality TV and popular culture legends, Peter Andre and Katie Price, it seemed almost fated that Princess would have a career in the limelight. Having been in the public eye from a young age with appearances on "Katie and Peter: The Next Chapter" through to her recent deals in modelling and branding, Princess is no stranger to fame. Successful collaborations with high-profile brands like Superdrug and PrettyLittleThing and creating her own line of jewellery are just some of her accomplishments. According to The Sun, she's set to star in her own ITV show as a celebration of her 18th birthday. This show reportedly offers fans an insight into her personal life and nascent modelling endeavours. It is suggested that this reality series will act as a springboard for her runway aspirations. *Find the full interview in Sunday Mirror's Notebook magazine. *Meet Princess in person at a meet and greet event at Superdrug in Lakeside Shopping Centre, Thurrock, at 1pm tomorrow.

Glastonbury's secret act 'confirmed' as fans spot huge clue just days before
Glastonbury Festival is set to make a triumphant return this year, with the likes of The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo headlining - but there's still a mystery act on the bill Has Glastonbury Festival 's secret act accidentally been revealed? Music fans certainly think so. An American rock legend arriving in London just days ahead of things kicking off at Worthy Farm has people convinced the singer's band is set to play the hush-hush set. The iconic music festival is returning on Wednesday, with British pop band The 1975, folk star Neil Young and his band the Chrome Hearts, and US pop singer Olivia Rodrigo topping the bill. Glastonbury is running from June 25 to June 29 this year with performances from the likes of US rapper Doechii, UK singer Raye and veteran rocker Sir Rod Stewart, who will be playing during the coveted legends slot. Also performing is Irish rap trio Kneecap, US star Gracie Abrams and alternative pop singer Charli XCX. The line-up features a number of acts listed as TBA, as well as a mysterious act called Patchwork, who will take to the Pyramid Stage on Saturday. Careful not to draw speculation as to who the act could be, organiser Emily Eavis recently said: "I've been working on Patchwork for a long time." She also admitted that planning for their appearance had taken about a year for "logistical" reasons. Fans are convinced Patchwork are in fact The Foo Fighters, thanks to Dave Grohl being spotted in London recently. The rocker, who last year announced he had become a father again after an extramarital affair, was seen backstage at the Yeah Yeah Yeahs gig at the Royal Albert Hall. Grohl, who posed for a photo with American singer Amanda Palmer at the gig, is no stranger to surprise Glastonbury sets. In 2023, his band performed at the Somerset festival under the alias The Churn Ups - their first major UK gig since the death of the band's drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022. And Glastonbury fans are convinced a similar thing will be happening again this year. "Dave Grohl is in London, likely will be at the festival," one Reddit user penned as the pictures of Grohl hit social media. "Has done bits with John Fogerty in the past and other acts. Surely will be popping up at places this year?" Another added: "100% he will be milling about – I'd say a couple of guest appearances are a safe bet. Maybe Alanis for a song or Neil Young for an encore." Glastonbury Festival has sold "a few thousand less tickets" this year in a bid to avoid overcrowding, organiser Emily Eavis said earlier this month. In an appearance on the Sidetracked podcast Eavis, 45, outlined the changes that have been made to this year's festival and said music area Shangri-La is "going full trees and green space" which is "completely the opposite to anything they've done in the past". She also revealed that the festival has managed to buy some land that sits "just on the outside of the site", which will be used for crew members. She added: "We've also sold a few thousand less tickets, so it will be interesting just to see how that affects the dynamics on site." The first group of tickets for the event sold out in 30 minutes last November, with the second lot selling out in fewer than 40. Eavis said times have changed, adding: "There were years where you just couldn't sell out, you just couldn't give them (the tickets) away." Also at the festival, presenters Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw will take to the BBC Introducing stage on June 26 for a live episode of Sidetracked.

Hue Dining and Ink Cafe are closing down at the end of June
Hong Kong's dining scene is losing two waterfront gems as Hue Dining, a modern Australian restaurant, and Ink Cafe, an al fresco cafe and bar, prepare to close their doors at the end of June. Run by Wolly Pig HK, these spots are well-loved for their casual bites, welcoming vibe, and killer harbour views. But it's not all sad news, as they're going out with a bang. To thank their loyal guests, Hue Dining is offering a 20 percent discount on their three-course lunch and dinner menus from June 23 to 26, as well as a farewell brunch on June 28 and 29. Those who dine on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, or Monday will also get a free welcome cocktail or mocktail with their dinner. As for Ink Cafe, they're throwing a renovation party on June 30 with happy hour prices starting at $80 for tap beers, gin and tonics, and cocktails. Bar snacks will also start from $80, so it's the perfect chance to raise a glass before Ink Cafe takes a quick break to reopen with a fresh look in July. Patrons of the two eateries will be happy to know that this is just a brief goodbye, as Woolly Pig HK has plans for a brand-new restaurant concept pop-up at the Hong Kong Museum of Art soon, promising to deliver the same stunning views and quality food. Keep an eye on our page for more updates coming soon.
