Rare 87-Mile 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition Hits the Market
Read the full story on Modern Car Collector
A nearly perfect 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition, boasting just 87 miles on the odometer, is now for sale on Bring A Trailer. This collector's dream is one of only 343 Heritage Edition models ever made, reflecting a meticulous commitment to automotive excellence and heritage.
This particular Ford GT draws inspiration from the iconic GT40 racing cars of the 1960s, specifically echoing the Gulf livery of the 1968 and 1969 Le Mans winners with its striking Heritage Blue and Epic Orange color scheme. The car's construction features an extruded-aluminum space frame with roll-bonded floors and aluminum body panels, emphasizing both its lightweight and durable design.
Under the hood, the GT is equipped with a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 engine, capable of delivering a formidable 550 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. This power is efficiently managed by a Ricardo six-speed manual transaxle and a helical limited-slip differential, ensuring that the GT's performance is as impressive as its appearance.
The vehicle's interior is just as meticulously crafted, featuring Ebony leather upholstery and manually adjusted Sparco seats that incorporate carbon-fiber shells with GT40-style ventilation grommets. The cockpit is also equipped with modern amenities such as a McIntosh CD stereo, air conditioning, and push-button ignition, blending classic design with contemporary convenience.
Adding to its allure, the GT comes with factory-optional BBS forged aluminum wheels with orange accent stripes, and a high-performance Brembo braking system. These features not only enhance the car's aesthetic but also its handling and stopping capabilities.
This 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition is being offered on dealer consignment and includes a complete documentation package comprising the window sticker, owner's manual, service records, and a car cover. The car has been consigned with a clean Carfax report and holds a clean Montana title.
This sale presents a unique opportunity for collectors to own a piece of automotive history, especially appealing for those who value rarity and impeccable preservation. With its low mileage and high-level of upkeep, this Ford GT is expected to attract significant attention from enthusiasts and collectors alike.

This Gorgeous, 1-of-26, Piece of American Automotive History Can be Yours on BaT
The 1950s were a hotbed for independent automotive innovation. It was a time when lax rules and regulations meant that automakers and regular Joes could create what they thought was the next best American automobile. Although already an established name by that time, Hudson was not averse to embarking on new projects. One of those new projects gave birth to what I strongly believe to be one of the most unique cars to have ever seen the blacktop, and one of them is now for sale on Bring a Trailer. The Hudson Italia was created when Hudson's chief designer, Frank Spring, saw the publicity Chrysler had created with their Ghia-bodied creations. The Italia was bodied by the Italian Touring Supperleggera coachbuilding company, with some unique touches that truly gave it a jet-era look that would fit right at home in the Jetsons. The bodywork featured an inverted "V" centered in the front bumper, V-shaped brake-cooling scoops above the headlights, a wraparound windshield, brake-cooling scoops, upper door edges contouring into the roofline, and triple chrome tubes recessed into the rear fenders for the rear lights. A prototype was shown at various Hudson dealers around the country, with just 25 other examples produced between 1954 and 1955 before Hudson merged with the Nash-Kelvinator Corporation to form American Motors Corporation. This particular 1954 example, chassis 10007, was reportedly displayed at the 1954 Paris Motor Show before moving to Sweden in July 1955 with its first owner. It saw several more owners throughout the 1970s before another Swedish owner kept it for 22 years. It was later purchased by its current owner and imported to the US in 1999. Its 202ci Twin-H L-head inline-six was overhauled in 2011, and replacement twin Carter carburetors were installed. The bodywork was left unpainted and shows numerous patina scars, including dents, patches, primer, and a damaged windshield. It is also unfortunately missing its bumpers, which adds a tremendous amount of style to the car. The car retains its column-shifted three-speed manual transmission, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes, independent front suspension, as well as its red and black leather upholstery that was reportedly re-dyed. Matching red carpeting was seemingly installed, but the dashboard and terrific-looking, wrapped two-spoke steering wheel remain intact. It sits on factory 15" Borrani wire wheels with wide whitewall tires that will absolutely need replacing. The odometer currently shows around 61,000 miles. Space-age, jet-era, regardless of what you want to call it, the time period of the Hudson Italia gave birth to some truly stunning moving art. As much as seeing this car in a shiny, period-correct paint job would be stunning, preserving it in its current worn state entices me more. Cars are only original once, and erasing the dents and scratches that help tell this piece of history's story is almost a tragedy to me. Regardless, the Bring a Trailer auction ends in 5 days with a current bid of a mere $10,000. The seller claims that many spare parts come with the car and that they have even 3D-scanned a fully restored Italia that the future owner of this one can use to make parts. It is definitely a daunting project, but how often do you get such a chance? Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

1982 BMW 528i on Bring a Trailer Is the Nicest We've Seen
Here's a fine-looking early BMW 5-series that checks a lot of boxes. It's not an M5, but it does feature an inline-six, a five-speed manual, and rear-wheel drive. It also boasts exceptionally low mileage and condition to match. The E28 BMW 5-series is mostly known as the debut of the BMW M5. That car is by now a legend, noted for its mighty 3.5-liter inline-six. If it's a racehorse, here's a car from the same bloodline that's a bit more domesticated, but still loves to trot. Bring a Trailer This 528i is the underlying sports sedan that made the first M5 so good, and this 1982 model up for sale on Bring a Trailer (which, like Car and Driver, is part of Hearst Autos) looks to be an exceptional example of the breed. Sold new in France, it's got an M30 2.8-liter inline-six with higher compression than what we received in the U.S.—mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It also sports the crisply elegant European bumpers rather than the overlarge U.S. units. And its 15K kilometers on the odometer translates to a freakishly low U.S. equivalent of less than 10,000 miles. Ooh, and those French selective yellow headlights, that's a nice touch. Courtesy: Bring a Trailer This car was bought last year on Bring a Trailer by the sort of owner who seems particularly fastidious. They've gone through the engine bay and cabin and removed any aftermarket parts, for instance replacing the Kenwood door speakers with factory BMW units. There is no A/C, but the seller is throwing in a factory A/C system from another car, which the new owner could have installed. Courtesy: Bring a Trailer The 5-series of this generation is such a overlooked machine, one that puts the spirit of the original 2002tii into a discreet business suit. The 2.8-liter inline-six produces a plentiful 170 horsepower, and it loves to rev. An E28 is tiny next to a modern 5-series, and the experience of hurrying it down a two-lane road while looking out through that expansive greenhouse is a wonderful one. Courtesy: Bring a Trailer The very low mileage does mean that this car is something to be reserved for special occasions, but it should be faithful even if it sits around a bit. These are far simpler and more durable cars than electronics-heavy later Bimmers, and that inline-six doesn't have the valve adjustment schedule of the M5's motor. This is the best of Bavaria, and with no reserve, it's going home with a new owner. The auction ends on June 25. Rare Toyota Mega Cruiser For Sale Looks Straight Out of a Pixar Movie
The latest car news, reviews, and features. When a Toyota Mega Cruiser comes up for sale, I tune in—not because I can afford to buy one, mind you. They're just that cool. This specific truck for sale on Bring a Trailer is especially nifty because it's a factory high-roof model with a windshield as big as an IMAX screen, but even flatter. Toyota built fewer than 150 of these civilian high-roofs over a six-year production period. Before making its way to New Hampshire, where it currently lives, it served as a safari tour vehicle in Kenya. I've been to New Hampshire before, and let me tell you, I can't think of anywhere more different from a Kenyan reserve. Anywho, this rig has a four-cylinder turbodiesel with 4.1 liters of displacement. Keeping with the theme of cuatro , it has a four-speed automatic transmission and, of course, four-wheel drive. It only has three locking differentials, but that's still a lot; as many as you can have, really. Bring a Trailer Portal axles and 37-inch tires give this sucker more than 16.5 inches of ground clearance. It can climb up and over whatever you want, even with its relatively measly 153 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque. You can see exactly why this Mega Cruiser was used for wildlife observation once you look inside. It has seating for 10 and enough room to stand. I can just picture myself driving a bunch of people, peeping at a pack of lions through those upper windows, or putting my boot in the built-in rear bumper step to climb on top of the roof and point at some wildebeest. OK, maybe I'm having a bit too much fun with this, but just look at this command center and tell me you wouldn't have a blast cosplaying as a tour guide from there: Bring a Trailer Like any 30-year-old work vehicle, it has some faults. There are stains throughout the interior, and the headliner is in rough shape, but that just gives it character. The odometer shows roughly 104,000 kilometers, or 65,000 miles, along with who knows how many idle hours. No matter, though, as these 15B-FT diesels could probably run a million miles on rainwater from the jungle if they had to. The auction ends on Monday, though at the time of publication, the high bid is just north of $30,000. I can definitely see that number doubling or even tripling as the last Mega Cruiser to sell on Bring a Trailer in 2024 went for $167,500. Others have been bid up around $100,000 since then, but they failed to meet reserve. There's no telling how much the seller thinks this admittedly super-rare high roof is worth, so we'll have to see if anyone offers enough cash to take it home with them.
