The Pitt's Noah Wyle Explains Why Collins Was M.I.A. at End of Season 1
Tracy Ifeachor's absence from the final four episodes of The Pitt did not go unnoticed by fans — and in a new interview, series star/executive producer Noah Wyle addresses the decision to have her character, Dr. Heather Collins, scrub out before everyone else.
Collins was last seen in Episode 11, during a tender exchange that revealed the depth of her relationship with Dr. Robby. She confided in her ex about her recent IVF journey that ended in miscarriage earlier that day, then revealed that she got pregnant while they were dating but chose to have an abortion. After assuring Collins that he was not upset, Robby gave her the OK to clock out an hour ahead of schedule.

'Go home, turn off your phone,' he told her, and that she did. By the time our department chief got word that there had been a mass shooting at PittFest, his senior resident was incommunicado.
'Very deep sleeper, that Collins,' Wyle jokes on 'The Watch' podcast. He then explains why it was necessary that she remain unreachable for the remainder of Robby's increasingly taxing shift.
'The whole end of the season is just removing bearing walls from Robby's life,' Wyle says. 'He leans so heavily on Collins and Langdon, and then you take them both away from him… he leans so heavily on Dana, and then she becomes compromised… and then his one last relationship to Jake is severed when he can't save his girlfriend.' The thinking was, 'let's take away all this guy's support system and have him out there [alone].'
If Collins had been there, Wyle says, 'I think she would have maybe been one of those voices that could have reached [Robby], and we didn't want him to be reachable.'
As TVLine previously reported, Season 2 of The Pitt will premiere in January 2026, and pick up roughly 10 months later, on Fourth of July weekend. That will coincide with Langdon's first day back at work after he reluctantly agrees to seek help for his opioid abuse. 'We'll see everybody [from Season 1], for the most part,' series creator R. Scott Gemmill said. 'Some people might be working different hours and different shifts, but it's pretty much the same crew.'
Season 2 will also address Robby's mental health, and his efforts to get 'healthy again' after his trip up to the roof at the end of Season 1. You can revisit our finale Q&A with Wyle below:

How to watch the 28 Days Later movies in order
Before we had HBO shelling cordyceps and Pedro Pascal smut in The Last Of Us, we had the 2002 hit 28 Days Later. Two decades later, in the abyss of The Last of Us hiatus, the original 'infected' are returning. With the long-anticipated 28 Years Later at our fingertips—rumoured to be the first film in a new trilogy—it's time to revisit the nightmare. Here's your guide to watching the 28 Days Later franchise in the proper order, plus a preview of what's to come. Directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland, the mother wound that is 28 Days Later opens on a crew of animal rights activists who accidentally release a deadly lab-grown virus into society. 28 days later, Cillian Murphy wakes from a coma and finds himself in a deserted, post-apocalyptic London. What follows is equal parts horror and psychological drama, with the survivors navigating a world where the line between humanity and monstrosity blurs. The film originally was considered a piece of lost media, since it was so hard to find on streaming and home video. Back in February 2024, producer Andrew Macdonald bought back the rights to film, allowing it return to streaming and now we can watch it for ourselves again, this time for free on BBC iPlayer. Boyle and Garland returned in 2007 with a new iteration, directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. The sequel takes place six months after the events of the first film. The virus is 'contained,' and NATO forces are repopulating a secure zone in London. But a new outbreak—fuelled by a carrier with natural immunity—spirals into chaos. This sequel trades the intimacy of the original for broader scale, faster pacing, and some truly haunting visuals (the helicopter scene lives in infamy). 28 Weeks Later expands the universe and introduces the idea that the virus might never truly be eradicated. It's also the movie that confirmed: containment is a myth. You can now watch 28 Weeks Later on Netflix. Landing in cinemas on 20 June, 2025, 28 Years Later picks up three decades after the original film's timeline, following a group of survivors living on a small, heavily-defended island. Our main players here are a father and son who leave the island to traverse the infected-populated mainland. With the original team at the helm, the film is written by Alex Garland and directed by Danny Boyle. Cillian Murphy hive, stand down. The stars of this film include Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes. If the first two films were about shock and spread, 28 Years Later may look at legacy. What does the world look like after generations of rage—both viral and political? How have survivors evolved? And can the infection ever truly be cured? Much like The Last of Us and the (read: actually good) films in the broader zombie canon, the 28 Days Later franchise is a reflection of our anxieties—about science, government, violence, and each other. Sigh. Reality bites.

THE WALKING DEAD: DEAD CITY's Finale Ends with a Death that Changes NYC Forever
The Walking Dead: Dead City's finale took us into a fiery battle between Bruegel's collective and Negan's new force. While there's usually someone who ultimately gets the upper hand and wins, I'd say that this is a loss on both ends in my opinion. Things go awry, many lives are lost and the city is really no better than when it started. Honestly, I found the groups of gangs to be a vibe and believe that maybe it is not best to have militaristic forces like New Babylon telling people what to do. Negan ends up with pretty much no power, no Ginny, and a knife to his back, thanks to Maggie. And, well, Bruegel ends up suffering a terrible demise at Negan's hands. New Babylon brings in its second wave and controls the methane. And while Dama and Herschel want to build a different future, it's going to be hard for them to do it without the resources and people power. RELATED ARTICLE THE WALKING DEAD: DEAD CITY Sets the Stage for a Major Battle, Thanks to Bruegel It is The Walking Dead universe so happy endings are rare and not expected at this point. Instead, we longtime fans get our joy from the show's big battles and the finale's fight is a great one. The choreography, the flamethrowers, and all the tension building up to brutal violence is such a treat. Actor Kim Coates, who portrayed Bruegel, spoke to us about filming that scene, which took multiple shoots due to some technical setbacks. 'We lost power one night,' Coates told us. 'So we were back to that church oh, I don't know, maybe four or five times when we were only supposed to be there twice. But, it's such an old, gorgeous, not used much anymore place of worship and to be able to turn it into this place with the walkers and the gangs.' He continues, 'In Sons of Anarchy, we had bikes and incredible riding and that world of the club. Now, with The Walking Dead, I'd never been on it before. I'd never seen it before and to see it all firsthand is no joke. The technical side, the crew, the stunt people, the walkers, it's no joke. It's full on. And we had to film it nighttime night after night after night… It's really impressive how they do it and how safe the set was.' Sadly, we won't get any more Bruegel in The Walking Dead's future. He was quite the dapper and hilarious dude who really got under Negan's skin. While they were staunch frenemies on screen, the love between Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Kim Coates, who are real life pals, on set was undeniable. 'When we got to meet in this world, it was easy because the trust was there,' he affirmed. 'And he supported everything I did. And I think one of the biggest problems he had with me was he would laugh in the middle of a lot of takes. [laughs] Maybe Negan shouldn't be laughing, so we had to redo them a couple of times. I made him laugh so much, but I love the guy… It's been great to work with him and Lauren [Cohan]. I really have a lot of respect for Lauren, too.' What will happen next in the Big Apple? We will have to see if a third season shows Maggie and Negan teaming up to reclaim the streets and convince Herschel to come home.

Fire Country Season 4: Release date rumors, cast updates and what to expect next
By Aman Shukla Published on June 22, 2025, 20:17 IST Last updated June 22, 2025, 20:18 IST Okay, Fire Country fans, let's dive into the latest updates on Season 4! After that gut-punch of a Season 3 finale, fans are dying to know what's next for Bode, Sharon, and the whole Edgewater crew. Between cast shake-ups, spinoff hype, and those pesky release date rumors, there's a ton to unpack. So, grab a coffee (or something stronger), and let's dish on everything we know—or think we know—about Fire Country Season 4. Fire Country Season 4 Potential Release Date As of right now, June 2025, CBS is keeping us in suspense with no official release date for Season 4. The show got the green light back in February 2025, which is a big vote of confidence. Word on the street (and by street, we mean X posts and TVLine reports) is that filming kicks off in Vancouver this July. That lines up nicely for a September or October 2025 premiere, probably in that trusty Friday 9 p.m. ET slot on CBS. Cast Updates: Who's Returning and Who's Leaving? The Fire Country Season 3 finale dropped some major bombshells, and the cast for Season 4 will look noticeably different. Here's a breakdown of who's in. Max Thieriot as Bode Leone : The heart of the show, Bode, is confirmed to return. As a newly freed firefighter, his journey to redemption will continue to drive the story. Thieriot, who also serves as an executive producer and co-creator, has teased 'game-changing' developments for his character. Kevin Alejandro as Manny Perez : Manny, Gabriela's father and a key figure at Station 42, is expected back, bringing his blend of tough love and leadership. Jordan Calloway as Jake Crawford : Jake's role as interim battalion chief in the Season 3 finale sets him up for a bigger leadership arc in Season 4. Diane Farr as Sharon Leone : Despite being caught in the Season 3 finale's collapse, Sharon is expected to survive and return, especially with her ties to the upcoming spinoff Sheriff Country . Jules Latimer as Eve Edwards: Eve's resilience and growth make her a fan favorite, and she's confirmed to be back for more. What to Expect in Fire Country Season 4 The Season 3 finale left fans with a heart-stopping cliffhanger: a fire consumed Walter's care facility, trapping Vince, Sharon, and Walter as the building collapsed. Bode watched in horror, setting the stage for an emotionally charged Season 4. Here's what we can anticipate: Storylines to Watch Bode's Big Moment: If Vince doesn't make it (I'm still in denial), Bode's gonna be a mess. He's already got guilt from his rebel stunt causing the fire, so expect some heavy soul-searching. Maybe he'll finally step up as a leader to honor his dad. Jake's Time to Shine: With Jake as interim chief, I'm curious if he'll clash with the team or prove he's the real deal. Jordan Calloway's got the chops to carry this arc. New Disasters: Fire Country thrives on high-stakes action, and Season 4 will likely deliver more epic fires, floods, or other emergencies. Max Thieriot has hinted at 'crazy action stunt sequences' that will keep viewers glued to their screens. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication .
