Lineups:
This may not be the facing-a-lefty lineup one might expect given neutral ground, but it is certainly one we have been conditioned to expect this season.
Nationals lineup!
News:
Casey Lawrence is back for another stint with the big-league club, replacing Blas Castaño, who made his big-league debut in last night's stinker. Lawrence will inevitably be sent down again when the team reinstates Bryce Miller, who is slated to pitch Friday.

Also in rehabbing pitcher news, Logan Gilbert is making a rehab start tonight in Tacoma. Game time is 7:05 PT and you can watch on the MiLB TV app, or follow along in the First Pitch app.
In more injury news, Luke Raley was at the ballpark today taking some swings off the machine. He said he wasn't swinging max effort, but that didn't stop him from sending a few over the fence during his power round of BP. Raley says he's feeling fine as he continues to work back, just dealing with normal soreness after exertion. Obliques are tricky injuries to rehab and Raley said it's the first time he's dealt with this kind of injury, so he's trying to be really careful and not overdo it effort-wise (always a challenge for the all-out Raley), but if he feels good after today there's a possibility he could take some swings in Tacoma this weekend.
Captain's Log:
Dan Wilson on Emerson Hancock's spike in velocity, fourth-highest increase in MLB this season:

'That's been a really encouraging sign for him. Some of that I think you can attribute to his mentality and his ability to attack hitters. We talk a lot about attacking the zone, but he's taken that to the next level. And sometimes that mental approach can help with your stuff as well. I think he's just in a really good spot, physically and mentally, and continues to throw the ball well for us, and the confidence has really grown.'

Giants pitcher Sean Hjelle accused of abuse by wife, MLB investigating

Associated Press SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The San Francisco Giants said Major League Baseball is looking into allegations of abuse made by the wife of reliever Sean Hjelle. Caroline Hjelle made a post on TikTok on Friday of her with the couple's two children with a caption that said: 'When my MLB husband abandons us on Mothers Day a week after this (video was taken) once I finally found about his affairs and stopped putting up with his abuse, so I've been raising two boys alone.' The Giants said in a statement Saturday that they are 'aware of these serious allegations' and that MLB is handling it. Manager Bob Melvin said before Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox that Hjelle would be available to pitch. 'Obviously we're aware of it,' Melvin said. 'He told me about it last night. We talked to MLB. At this point, it's in their jurisdiction right now so I really can't comment on it further.' Hjelle took the loss in Friday night's game against the Red Sox, allowing a tiebreaking homer to Ceddanne Rafaela in the sixth inning. Hjelle is 1-1 with a 4.66 ERA in six appearances this season. ___ AP MLB: recommended

Yankees righty Clarke Schmidt has a no-hitter through six innings against the Orioles

NEW YORK — New York Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt has held the Baltimore Orioles hitless through six innings Saturday. Schmidt threw 29 pitches in the first inning, when he issued consecutive walks to Jordan Westburg and Gunnar Henderson. He stranded a runner in the fourth after hitting Ryan O'Hearn with a pitch and easily finished the fifth. Schmidt breezed through a nine-pitch fifth and needed eight pitches to get through the sixth. Schmidt has thrown first-pitch strikes to 15 of 21 hitters, struck out five and walked two. Schmidt was at 82 pitches through six innings and held a 8-0 lead. New York has thrown 24 no-hitters in team history. The last was June 28, 2023, in Oakland when Domingo Germán threw the Yankees' major league-leading fourth perfect game. The Orioles have been no-hit 15 times in team history. Baltimore was last held hitless on Aug. 12, 2015, in Seattle by Hisashi Iwakuma. ___ More AP baseball:
