Jaipur: Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma performs yoga at his residence, urges citizens to make it
Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], June 18 (ANI): Ahead of the International Yoga Day on June 21, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma participated in a yoga session at his residence in Jaipur on Wednesday.
In a post on X, Bhajanlal Sharma urged the citizens to make yoga an 'integral part' of their daily life. He mentioned that it strengthens mental health and brings discipline, balance and positive energy in life.
'Before the upcoming International Yoga Day on 21st June, yoga practice was done with children, yoga, fitness instructors and officials at the Chief Minister's residence today. All of you residents of the state should also make yoga an integral part of your daily life. Yoga not only strengthens physical and mental health, but also brings discipline, balance and positive energy in life', Sharma's X post said.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of International Yoga Day this year, Visakhapatnam is set to host a grand event which will also mark the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The city will be hosting a record-breaking yoga event, which will feature over 2.5 lakh people performing yoga together at a single location -- an attempt to set a new world record.
The grand event will take place along the 27-kilometre-long coastal road of Visakhapatnam, which will serve as the venue for this massive yoga session. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is also expected to join PM Modi for the yoga performance.
On Tuesday, the Andhra Pradesh government conducted a high-level review meeting at the VMRDA office in Visakhapatnam to finalise preparations for the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21.
The event, which is expected to attract a record turnout of five lakh people, will be held with massive arrangements in place to ensure smooth execution.
The meeting was attended by Ministers Vangalapudi Anitha, Achennaidu, DBV Swamy, BC Janardhan Reddy, and Angani Satya Prasad, along with MP Bharat, coalition MLAs from Uttarandhra, and several other public representatives.
Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha addressed the press after the meeting and shared major details about the event.'The people of Visakhapatnam are fortunate to organise the 11th International Yoga Day in Visakhapatnam,' she said.
She added that the state government had taken the International Yoga Day very seriously and that the Chief Minister supervised the arrangements.
Highlighting the significance of the event, she said, 'Yoga is a gift from India to the world. Yoga is a part of life. We are moving Andhra Pradesh towards a healthy Andhra Pradesh.'
To ensure proper management of the event, officials said that 326 compartments had been prepared to accommodate participants. More than 2,000 CCTV cameras were installed across the venue to monitor the crowd and maintain security. (ANI)

Varanasi: Taking swift action in response to a case of alleged fraud under Ayushman Bharat scheme, UP Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, who is also the in-charge minister for Varanasi district, on Saturday ordered the immediate closure of an unregistered hospital and the lodging of an FIR against its operator. The minister was in the city to lead International Yoga Day events on Saturday, when he reached the Prime Minister's parliamentary constituency office in Jawahar Nagar for a public hearing. The action came after Surendra Banwasi, a local resident, filed a complaint during the public hearing. He alleged that Asha Hospital, located in Nayepur area under Baragaon police station limits, had claimed reimbursement for his father's treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme while also charging him money for the same services. The hospital later refunded the amount taken from Banwasi. Responding immediately, the minister directed the Chief Medical Officer and local authorities to probe the matter and take decisive action. CMO Dr Sandeep Choudhary said that a medical officer, Dr Sher Muhammad, was appointed to investigate. Upon verification, it was found that the hospital was functioning without valid this revelation, Dr Muhammad, accompanied by the Baragaon police, reached the hospital and ensured its closure with immediate effect. "The in-charge minister took the complaint seriously and instructed for strict action without delay. The hospital was found unregistered and action was taken on the same day," said Dr Choudhary.

Uttarakhand gets state's first ‘yoga policy', CM Dhami announces ‘spiritual economic zones'
On the occasion of the 11th International Yoga Day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami officially launched the state's first-ever Yoga Policy from Bhararisain, the state's summer capital. He declared, 'Uttarakhand will be developed as the global capital of yoga and wellness.' While delivering his message 'Yoga in Every Home, Health for Every Person,' Dhami spoke of the Central Government's support in the initiative and announced the establishment of a 'Spiritual Economic Zones' in Garhwal and Kumaon divisions. These zones will reportedly be developed as international hubs of ayurveda, yoga, and spiritual tourism, and will also facilitate employment in the state, helping to curb migration from the hill regions. By March 2026, yoga services will be ensured at all AYUSH Health and Wellness Centers, and by 2030, five new yoga hubs will be developed across the state, Dhami said. Under the new policy, establishment of yoga and meditation centers will be eligible for up to Rs 20 lakh in subsidies, and research related to yoga and naturopathy will be granted up to Rs 10 lakhs. Dhami said, 'Yoga is not just exercise; it is a philosophy of life that has united the world beyond caste, religion, and borders. It has become the most powerful bridge of global unity and humanity.' Among the dignitaries attending the event were Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Ambassador of Mexico to India Federico Salas, Ambassador of Nepal Dr. Shankar Prasad Sharma, and diplomats from six countries – Fiji, Mongolia, Russia, Latvia, Sri Lanka, and Suriname. Before the event, the Chief Minister conversed with the youth and urged them to make yoga a part of their daily routine and move toward a healthier life. BJD Vice-President Debi Prasad Mishra and others offer prayers at Lingaraj Temple for Naveen Patnaik's speedy recovery
Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], June 22 (ANI): Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Vice-President Debi Prasad Mishra, along with other party leaders and workers, visited the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar on Sunday to offer prayers for the speedy recovery of BJD President and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who is currently undergoing medical treatment. Speaking to ANI, Mishra said that people from all sections of society have come together to pray for Patnaik's health. 'People from all strata of the society - from senior citizens to Har Har Mahadev committee and many people across party lines - have joined in since Naveen Ji is an adored leader of Odisha... Today he is undergoing treatment and the people are praying for his healthy recovery... Today he will undergo surgery if required,' he said. Earlier on Saturday, members of the Odia community and BJD leaders in Delhi gathered at the Jagannath Temple in Hauz Khas to offer prayers for his health and speedy recovery. A 'akhand deep' was lit at the temple as a symbol of hope and healing, with emotional appeals made for Patnaik's successful operation and quick return to public life. As you know, our former Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik, is undergoing surgery in Mumbai tomorrow morning. We lit a lamp and prayed that his surgery goes smoothly and he recovers soon so he can once again serve the people of Odisha, as he always has.'
