Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], June 18 (ANI): Ahead of the International Yoga Day on June 21, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma participated in a yoga session at his residence in Jaipur on Wednesday. In a post on X, Bhajanlal Sharma urged the citizens to make yoga an 'integral part' of their daily life. He mentioned that it strengthens mental health and brings discipline, balance and positive energy in life. 'Before the upcoming International Yoga Day on 21st June, yoga practice was done with children, yoga, fitness instructors and officials at the Chief Minister's residence today. All of you residents of the state should also make yoga an integral part of your daily life. Yoga not only strengthens physical and mental health, but also brings discipline, balance and positive energy in life', Sharma's X post said. Meanwhile, on the occasion of International Yoga Day this year, Visakhapatnam is set to host a grand event which will also mark the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The city will be hosting a record-breaking yoga event, which will feature over 2.5 lakh people performing yoga together at a single location -- an attempt to set a new world record. The grand event will take place along the 27-kilometre-long coastal road of Visakhapatnam, which will serve as the venue for this massive yoga session. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is also expected to join PM Modi for the yoga performance. On Tuesday, the Andhra Pradesh government conducted a high-level review meeting at the VMRDA office in Visakhapatnam to finalise preparations for the 11th International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21. The event, which is expected to attract a record turnout of five lakh people, will be held with massive arrangements in place to ensure smooth execution. The meeting was attended by Ministers Vangalapudi Anitha, Achennaidu, DBV Swamy, BC Janardhan Reddy, and Angani Satya Prasad, along with MP Bharat, coalition MLAs from Uttarandhra, and several other public representatives. Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha addressed the press after the meeting and shared major details about the event.'The people of Visakhapatnam are fortunate to organise the 11th International Yoga Day in Visakhapatnam,' she said. She added that the state government had taken the International Yoga Day very seriously and that the Chief Minister supervised the arrangements. Highlighting the significance of the event, she said, 'Yoga is a gift from India to the world. Yoga is a part of life. We are moving Andhra Pradesh towards a healthy Andhra Pradesh.' To ensure proper management of the event, officials said that 326 compartments had been prepared to accommodate participants. More than 2,000 CCTV cameras were installed across the venue to monitor the crowd and maintain security. (ANI)

On Wednesday morning, thousands gathered on the beach of Revu Polavaram in S Rayavaram mandal for a grand Yoga Andhra program, organised by State Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha. The event saw Anitha demonstrating various yoga asanas, while Kakinada CT MLA Venkateshwarlu, District Collector Vijay Krishnan, district officials, numerous locals, and party leaders also participated. In celebration of International Yoga Day, various competitions were held for students, with prizes awarded to the winners. Speaking at the event, Home Minister Anitha expressed her joy at hosting the Yoga Andhra programme at Revu Polavaram, a popular tourist destination. She emphasized the importance of health champions like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, and highlighted that it is a privilege for the people of Uttar Andhra to hold such a significant event in Visakhapatnam. Anitha remarked, 'The whole world is looking towards Visakhapatnam... they want yoga to become a part of life. Yoga is a gift from India to the world, and all people should participate in International Yoga Day.' She urged authorities to increase public awareness of yoga. In light of the Yoga Andhra programme scheduled for the 21st of this month, City Police Commissioner Dr. Shankhabrata Bagchi announced traffic restrictions to ensure the safety of participants. At a press conference on Tuesday, he revealed that representatives from various countries, including Prime Minister Modi, along with approximately five hundred thousand attendees from across the state, would be present for the celebrations. To facilitate security and unhindered participation, RK Beach Road, from NTR Circle to Park Hotel Junction, will be closed from Wednesday until the event date. Additionally, vehicular movement from Park Hotel to Bhimili Beach will be suspended from the 19th to the 21st of this month. Commissioner Bagchi advised the public to comply with traffic regulations and cooperate with the police to ensure a smooth event.

Vizianagaram: Home Minister and in-charge minister for Vizianagaram Vangalapudi Anitha, has called upon all stakeholders to work collectively to make the 'Yogandhra' programme a grand success. The initiative, part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision to integrate yoga into daily life, aims to set a world record with five lakh people performing yoga at a single venue in Visakhapatnam on June 21. At a review meeting held at the Collectorate on Tuesday, Minister Anitha was joined by Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad and Roads & Buildings Minister B C Janardhan Reddy. Minister Anitha stated that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was committed to conducting the programme with great prestige in line with the Prime Minister's call. She emphasised that the success of the event requires the support of every individual. She highlighted that yoga awareness programmes have been underway across the State for the past one month to mobilise public participation. She expressed confidence that the large-scale yoga session will draw national attention to Visakhapatnam and secure a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. The Minister stressed the importance of shared responsibility among officials and public representatives in ensuring smooth execution. To facilitate the movement of participants, special buses will be arranged and essential amenities like washrooms mapped along the travel routes. Emergency medical services and traffic management plans are also in place. Heavy vehicles will be restricted on national highways to ensure free movement of buses. District Collector Dr B R Ambedkar announced that 36,000 participants from Vizianagaram district have been prepared, with a target to send at least 30,000 to Visakhapatnam. A total of 660 buses will operate on two routes, with each bus assigned a liaison officer. A special focus has been given to mobilising 15,000 hostel students through colleges, while the remaining participants are being arranged through DRDA and MEPMA. A trial run of transportation logistics is scheduled for June 19.

We are taking steps to prevent any untoward incidents,' Anitha stated. As part of the government's health and safety measures, each participant will be provided with a yoga mat, a T-shirt, and an ORS bottle. In case of rain, the event will be shifted to Andhra University (AU) without delay. 'If it rains, we will set up in the AU without any problem,' the Home Minister said. Home Minister Anitha called on all the people of Visakhapatnam to participate in large numbers and make the event a grand success. As India prepares to mark a decade of the International Day of Yoga (IDY), the city of Visakhapatnam, chosen as the national host for the 11th edition, witnessed a comprehensive field visit and high-level review meeting on June 15 by senior officials from the Ministry of Ayush and the Government of Andhra Pradesh, said a statement. As June 21 approaches, Visakhapatnam stands ready to showcase how yoga can bridge communities, enhance well-being, and reflect India's commitment to 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health.' (ANI)
