Operation Marhaba 2025 Focuses on Traffic Fluidity, Enhanced Security & Local Support
Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, said on Tuesday 03 June that Operation Marhaba 2025 is set to be mainly focused on ensuring traffic fluidity, enhancing security, providing local support and maintaining heightened health vigilance.
Speaking during question time at the House of Councillors, Bourita stated that 29 ships belonging to seven shipping companies will operate 12 routes from the ports of Italy, France and Spain, adding that a budget of around MAD 28 million has been allocated to improve the reception infrastructure at the port of Tanger-Med.
The minister also highlighted that security is set to be enhanced thanks to strengthened border control mechanisms, and that local support will be provided through 24 reception centers, including 18 in France and 6 abroad, in addition to the mobilization of additional human resources, on the High Royal Instructions.
Bourita added that consulates will operate from June 15 to September 15, as usual, on a permanent basis (Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays), noting that staffing levels will be increased and mobile consulates will be set up "to support this large-scale operation, placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for the benefit of three million citizens."
Health vigilance is also part of this general mobilization, with the presence of specialized teams on the roads and at rest areas, he added, emphasizing that "the aim is to improve this operation year on year, so as to live up to the ambition of His Majesty the King."
Bourita also recalled that preparations for this large-scale, unparalleled operation included several meetings of the National Transit Commission, chaired by the Ministry of the Interior, as well as the organization of a Moroccan-Spanish meeting in Cadiz on May 29, in addition to thematic sectoral meetings.

The visit is seen as a «key step toward bringing Morocco into the circle of countries that have adopted a feminist foreign policy», in the lead-up to an international conference on feminist diplomacy scheduled for Paris in October 2025, according to the same source. Kazakh Delegation Visits Morocco to Boost Religious Cooperation
Rabat – A delegation from the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan reportedly visited Morocco this week as part of an official trip aimed at strengthening cooperation in religious education and the training of imams and spiritual guides. The delegation was led by Sanzisbay Kurbanuly, Deputy Grand Mufti, and Smayil Suerkuly, Advisor to the Grand Mufti and Head of the Department of Religious Education, acting on behalf of Nauryzbay Haj Taganuly, the Grand Mufti of Kazakhstan. The delegation reportedly held official meetings in the capital, Rabat, with Abdelssalam Al-Azaar, Director of the Mohammed VI Institute for the Training of Imams Religious Preachers. During the meetings, the Moroccan official provided detailed explanations about Morocco's system of religious education, the structure of its imam training programs, and the efforts undertaken to enhance the scientific and intellectual level of trainees. The Kazakh delegation proposed organizing short-term training courses, lasting between three and four months, for Kazakh imams in Morocco to help improve their professional qualifications. According to a statement by the Kazakh administration, the visit aims to strengthen the exchange of expertise between Kazakhstan's religious institutions and their Moroccan counterparts, and to establish effective partnerships in the field of imam training and international capacity-building. France : New Moroccan consulate opens in Mantes-la-Jolie
A new Moroccan Consulate General was officially inaugurated on Friday in Mantes-la-Jolie, in the Paris region, further strengthening Morocco's consular network in France, which now includes 17 consulates. This opening is part of a broader strategy focused on proximity, modernization, and efficiency to better serve Moroccan nationals abroad. The new consulate is the result of an initiative by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad, aimed at addressing the needs of a large and active diaspora deeply connected to their country of origin. The inauguration ceremony—covering three departments in the Île-de-France region: Yvelines, Seine-Maritime, and Eure, home to nearly 156,000 Moroccans—was attended by Ambassador Samira Sitail; Fouad Kadmiri, Director of Consular and Social Affairs at the Ministry; and Mustapha El Bouazzaoui, Consul General of Morocco in Mantes-la-Jolie.
