Ashley Greene's first horror movie was Interview with the Vampire
Ashley Greene's first experience of the horror genre was 'Interview with the Vampire'.
The 38-year-old star features in the new horror flick 'It Feeds' and explained how it was seeing the 1994 movie – which starred Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt – as a child that first sparked her interest in scary films.
Speaking to The AU Review, Ashley said: "The first scary-ish movie for me was 'Interview with the Vampire'. I was very young, and I know it's not traditional horror, but my mom wasn't happy about it. I was at my cousin's house and we watched it. I really liked it."
The 'Twilight' actress later started watching horror films alone in her house as she grew older but lived to regret tuning into 'The Strangers'.
Greene recalled: "I kind of got away from (the genre) for a little bit, but I liked it until I moved into my own house and I was then very specific about the horror movies I would watch. Like, I watched 'The Strangers' and, Jesus Christ, why did I do that?
"'Why are you doing this? Because you were home', or whatever that line is, like, oh my God. I'm never leaving my house again!"
In 'It Feeds', Ashley plays a clairvoyant therapist who must confront her past trauma to help save a girl who is being haunted by a malevolent spirit and acknowledged the challenge of finding the emotion to reflect the film's plot.
She said: "I think it's always challenging to trust myself and just let go in these spaces, and not to continue to live in a space that we've been talking about. Like, we now have the ability to just leave things on set and to separate ourselves from that.
"I do find there's always this moment of me going, like, 'Oh, no, what if I don't get there? Because it is such an abnormal space, how do you fake adrenaline?'
"I find that I'm really big on preparation work, so that when I get to set I can know I've done all the work and whatever is going to happen is going to happen. It's always a little scary to ask if you're going to make it believable for the audience."
Ashley likened acting to working "in therapy" as she builds an entire life and background for the character she plays on screen.
She explained: "I always say when I'm working on these things it's like I'm in therapy. I'm in talk-therapy with myself, or whoever I'm working with, because I think you're just going through your life and connections and these characters' worlds. The way I work is that I create this whole backstory for these characters.
"The first time you read a script is when you get such an honest response. You wonder how you connect. It's such a release."

Brad Pitt: ‘I'll work with Tom Cruise on the ground'
The Hollywood icons starred in the 1994 horror fantasy Interview with the Vampire, but have yet to find the right movie to collaborate on since then. As Pitt appeared at the Mexico premiere of F1, he was asked if he's still interested in reuniting with daredevil Cruise. "Well, I'm not gonna hang my a*s off airplanes and s**t like that," Pitt replied with a laugh when E! News asked about working with Cruise again. "So when he does something again that's on the ground {then yes}."

Brad Pitt gives terms for reuniting with Tom Cruise on-screen
Brad Pitt is open to working with Tom Cruise again - as long as he doesn't have to do any big stunts. The 61-year-old actor hasn't appeared on-screen with the Mission: Impossible star, 62, since 1994's Interview with the Vampire, and Pitt has now revealed he would collaborate with Cruise again, on the condition that his feet stay firmly on the ground. Speaking with E! News, Pitt said: 'Well, I'm not gonna hang my a** off airplanes and s*** like that. 'So when he does something again that's on the ground [then yes].' Pitt will next be seen in F1 - the high-octane racing movie from Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski. In F1, Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a retired racer who returns to the track with new blood Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) in a bid to become the best Formula One driver in the world. While Pitt wants to avoid doing any major stunts in a Tom Cruise movie, the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor had driven at 180-miles-per-hour in real Formula One cars for F1. Speaking at a Q+A event in March, Kosinski said: '[Pitt] just had that natural feel for grip in the car, and what we're doing on this film is dangerous. So yeah, you have to be fearless, and when you see Brad driving, that's not acting. 'He's really concentrating on keeping that car on the track and out of the wall during all those scenes. So that's something that you just can't fake, I think. I hope the audience feels that when they watch the movie.' The filmmaker added Pitt had undergone 'months of training' to prepare for the racing scenes, which also involved learning the art of the sport under the tutelage of seven-time Formula One world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton. Kosinski explained: 'Brad and Damson are both driving in this film and in order to get them into these race cars, it required months, literally months of training. But the first day was really fun. 'It was me, Brad and Lewis Hamilton at the track together, all of us jumping in cars and driving each other around in sports cars, which was one of those things, I'll never forget having Lewis Hamilton as your driving instructor. 'But what we learned and what Lewis was really interested was seeing did Brad knew how to drive right? Because if Brad can't drive, this whole film wasn't going to work.' The director said Hamilton found Pitt to be a 'very talented, naturally gifted driver' when they first sped around the track together. Kosinski said: 'And what Lewis was very happy to discover was that Brad had a lot of just natural ability right from the start. 'And I don't know where he got that or if he was born with it, and he rides motorcycles, which I think has something to do with it, but he's just a very talented, naturally gifted driver, which for Lewis after that first meeting gave him a lot of confidence that we might have a shot at pulling this off.'

Jennie Garth shocked when ex-husband Peter Facinelli joined Raya in search of a younger woman
Jennie Garth was shocked to learn her ex-husband wanted to date women around the age of their eldest daughter. The 53-year-old actress split from the Twilight actor - with whom she has Luca, 27, Lola, 22, and 18-year-old Fiona, while he also has two-year-old Jack with fiancee Lily Anne Harrison - in 2013 and she's told how Luca "came across" her 51-year-old dad's profile on exclusive dating app Raya. Speaking on the I Do, Part 2 podcast, she said: 'My ex-husband Peter, I was told, was on Raya, and his age, whatever range, that he was looking for was also the age range of his oldest daughter." Last year, the Beverly Hills 90210 star - who is now married to Dave Abrams - invited Peter onto her podcast, I Choose Me, and the pair reflected on how their relationship has changed in the years since their marriage ended. Peter said: 'We haven't really spoken a lot about life stuff in years, so I honestly don't know you and I don't think you know me. "And yet, it's like when you go home and you're with your mom or your dad or, you know, your sisters and they just treat you like you're 16, 17, 18, like, you know the time they saw you last when you were younger, and so there's this feeling of like, 'Oh, I know her because we were together for so long, but you've grown into this mature, wonderful adult woman and I've grown.'' Meanwhile, this week Fiona joined Jennie on the podcast and they called the Supergirl actor to discuss the teenager's recent high school graduation, with Peter admitting it had left him feeling "numb" to see his "baby" growing up. He said: 'I feel very numb. Honestly, it's been a very numbing experience. Yeah. I don't know if it's all hit me yet. 'You know, you're our baby, so you're all growing up and it's a whole new chapter. And I feel like I don't know how to feel. I really feel like I haven't fully experienced all the emotions.' While Fiona acknowledged she also felt "a little numb", she was also "really happy". She said: 'Honestly, it feels like I'm just so happy that I don't have to go back to high school. "I feel a little numb too, like, definitely hasn't set in that I'm not going back, you know, like when summer ends. But I am actually really happy and I feel like kind of just at peace. 'It's really nice, like, waking up and not feeling stressed to do anything, like just kind of having a moment to just kind of regenerate. 'And it's different from most summers because usually when school ends for that year, you always think about, oh, I'm going back and I have like summer reading to do. "But right now, I just feel like I'm moving on to the next thing, and although change feels scary a little bit, like, I don't really know what to expect. I feel like it's going to be good.'
