Jennie Garth shocked when ex-husband Peter Facinelli joined Raya in search of a younger woman

Perth Now13-06-2025

Jennie Garth was shocked to learn her ex-husband wanted to date women around the age of their eldest daughter.
The 53-year-old actress split from the Twilight actor - with whom she has Luca, 27, Lola, 22, and 18-year-old Fiona, while he also has two-year-old Jack with fiancee Lily Anne Harrison - in 2013 and she's told how Luca "came across" her 51-year-old dad's profile on exclusive dating app Raya.
Speaking on the I Do, Part 2 podcast, she said: 'My ex-husband Peter, I was told, was on Raya, and his age, whatever range, that he was looking for was also the age range of his oldest daughter."
Last year, the Beverly Hills 90210 star - who is now married to Dave Abrams - invited Peter onto her podcast, I Choose Me, and the pair reflected on how their relationship has changed in the years since their marriage ended.
Peter said: 'We haven't really spoken a lot about life stuff in years, so I honestly don't know you and I don't think you know me.
"And yet, it's like when you go home and you're with your mom or your dad or, you know, your sisters and they just treat you like you're 16, 17, 18, like, you know the time they saw you last when you were younger, and so there's this feeling of like, 'Oh, I know her because we were together for so long, but you've grown into this mature, wonderful adult woman and I've grown.''
Meanwhile, this week Fiona joined Jennie on the podcast and they called the Supergirl actor to discuss the teenager's recent high school graduation, with Peter admitting it had left him feeling "numb" to see his "baby" growing up.
He said: 'I feel very numb. Honestly, it's been a very numbing experience. Yeah. I don't know if it's all hit me yet.
'You know, you're our baby, so you're all growing up and it's a whole new chapter. And I feel like I don't know how to feel. I really feel like I haven't fully experienced all the emotions.'
While Fiona acknowledged she also felt "a little numb", she was also "really happy".
She said: 'Honestly, it feels like I'm just so happy that I don't have to go back to high school.
"I feel a little numb too, like, definitely hasn't set in that I'm not going back, you know, like when summer ends. But I am actually really happy and I feel like kind of just at peace.
'It's really nice, like, waking up and not feeling stressed to do anything, like just kind of having a moment to just kind of regenerate.
'And it's different from most summers because usually when school ends for that year, you always think about, oh, I'm going back and I have like summer reading to do.
"But right now, I just feel like I'm moving on to the next thing, and although change feels scary a little bit, like, I don't really know what to expect. I feel like it's going to be good.'

'She opened up my life': Fiona Shaw makes rare comments about wife

Fiona Shaw says she met her wife, Dr. Sonali Deraniyagala, at a time when she "might have been closing down my life". The Harry Potter and Killing Eve actress, 66, has been married to the Sri Lankan memoirist and economist since 2018, and in a rare comment about her other half, Fiona shared how the couple first met and how she has transformed her life. Speaking to Jessie and Lennie Ware on their Table Manners podcast, she said: "I met her in New York more than 10 years ago. I was doing Testament of Mary on Broadway, and I met her. She's a fascinating person, because I'm now introduced to a whole world of Sri Lanka, which has really opened up my life at the very moment that I might have been closing down my life. It's been great." Fiona previously described her spouse as an "unusual" person. After suffering a devastating tragedy, when Sonali lost all of her family in the terrible 2004 tsunami, Fiona admitted her relationship helped her "understand the value of things". She told Good Housekeeping magazine in 2020: "I'm married to a very unusual person, but maybe it took a very unusual person to be willing to marry me. Sonali's children, parents and husband were all killed in the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004, and I'm very cognisant of that. Its sorrow doesn't dominate our life, but it definitely defines it. I understand the value of things by being with Sonali. She lives knowing that at any moment the world could end because she lost her world. It has brought me into land, I suppose, about lots of things; a lack of arbitrariness about life." Table Manners is released weekly. Listen now via

James Gunn shares 'number-one reason' why 'movie industry is dying'

James Gunn believes "unfinished screenplays" are responsible for the "movie industry dying". The co-head of DC Studios cited the "number-one reason" why he believes the industry is struggling is that a lot of bad films have been released because projects have been rushed as a result of production dates being set before their scripts are completely ready. He told Rolling Stone: 'Listen, you can do everything right and make a bad movie. I'm really compassionate towards people that put their all into a movie. I know some people that were my former workers at Marvel — people who made some of the worst movies. "There were people that were lazy and didn't put their time in. And then there were other directors that worked really hard and maybe didn't have the best movie come out, but they did everything they could. "I do believe that the reason why the movie industry is dying is not because of people not wanting to see movies. It's not because of home screens getting so good. 'The number-one reason is because people are making movies without a finished screenplay.' The 58-year-old filmmaker revealed that when he and Peter Safran took over at DC Studios, he stressed that any films under his guidance wouldn't go into production until their scripts were finished, and admitted he had "just killed a project" because the screenplay was incomplete. He said: 'Everybody wanted to make the movie. It was greenlit, ready to go. The screenplay wasn't ready. And I couldn't do a movie where the screenplay's not good. 'And we've been really lucky so far, because Supergirl's script was so f****** good off the bat. And then Lanterns came in, and the script was so f****** good. Clayface, same thing. So f****** good. So we have these scripts that we've been really lucky with or wise in our choices or whatever the combination is.' The Superman director also believes not having a mandate from Warner Bros. to deliver a certain number of projects has helped DC Studios, because he believes the previous pressure Marvel faced from Disney to increase their output "killed them". He said: 'We have to treat every project as if we're lucky. 'We don't have the mandate [at DC Studios] to have a certain amount of movies and TV shows every year. So we're going to put out everything that we think is of the highest quality. "We're obviously going to do some good things and some not-so-good things, but hopefully on average everything will be as high-quality as possible. Nothing goes before there's a screenplay that I personally am happy with.'

Lily Allen spotted ‘on a date' with Netflix star James Norton months after David Harbour split

Lily Allen was spotted enjoying a 'first date'with actor James Norton at a festival over the weekend. Onlookers said Lily, 40, appeared smitten with newly single James, 39, who split from his model girlfriend last month. The pair, who both use celebrity dating app Raya, were spotted together at the Lido Festival in East London throughout Saturday. They shunned VIP areas to watch artists together, including Charli XCX. An eyewitness told The Sun: 'Lily and James appeared to be on a date. They were together for the day and were chatting and laughing together as they watched Charli XCX. 'Lily was leaning into him at one point. She and James seemed really relaxed together and she was really making him giggle. 'They were drinking non-alcoholic beer and queued at the bar like all the other punters. People were doing double-takes when they saw them together. 'Because they're both on Raya it seems like they might have matched with each other. 'And Lido is a great first date because there is so much to do.' Pop star Lily split from her Stranger Things actor husband David Harbour, 50, last year. The mum of two reactivated her Raya account after the break-up. She joked in her profile that she was 'looking for someone to start couples therapy with'. Happy Valley star James briefly dated model Charlotte Rose Smith, 25, but they quietly ended their romance this year. Last month his profile was also spotted on Raya, with a handful of pictures. James was engaged to actress Imogen Poots, 36, but the pair split in 2023. He hinted their break-up was not his doing, Lily has thrown herself into work since her marital split — including a starring role in a new adaptation of Hedda Gabler at Bath's Theatre Royal. She had a pop at her exes earlier this year, saying: 'I don't think there has been one person that has been remotely interested in my pleasure.'
